^^Christmas =/= Winter.

rainbow_smile 8th February 2016 07:38 PM

Ayu included winter songs on plenty of her albums. I'm 90% sure she'll include Winter diary on the new album. There's no reason not to, except for the fact that it was featured on a remix album already. But it had "Original mix" in the title, so I think that's a kind of a hint... And yeah, she's still yet to release a PV for it.

oaristos 8th February 2016 07:50 PM

I'm ready for more EDM on her next album.

voltron 8th February 2016 07:55 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if it made it to the next album, but she has had compilation songs only, like Part of Me.

Also, My Name's Women PV was on the STEP you/is this LOVE? single, which came after My Story the album. So it's not to say that the PV for Winter Diary couldn't be on a single (if she ever does a physical single again) or the next album.

( everybody seemed to like it than)

Hopefully, nothing like MOWY. That song isn't anything special imo. Not hating it, not loving it, but I don't want a replica. I really loved her direction with the remixes on Feel the love / Merry-go-round single. The Blasterjaxx remix is on my playlist even now, 3 years later. I love when she goes a bit hardcore with EDM.

Zeke. 9th February 2016 01:13 AM

The Blasterjaxx remix was alright, I actually enjoyed it and still do from time to time. But it gets tiring rather quickly. I think I bring it out for a hot week once a year and then forget about it. That's the problem with most EDM-based tracks today, they just don't have enough depth to promote a lasting longevity.

I died when Movin' On Without You came out. Mostly because I was expecting it to be a hot piece of shit, despising the original, but Ayu's version was full of life and color, something Utada's version was completely void of.

However, I was surprised how quickly I grew out of that song as well. I initially felt "I can listen to this song everyday at the gym for the rest of my life." But, by the third day or so, I felt rather fatigued from it. On the other hand, I can rotate her rock tracks or even her older eurobeat tracks for months on end and not tire of them.

I'm worried for the new track with these big room house DJ's, because Ayu's music have always been very much rooted in their ability to convey depth and emotion. Further, they've always been peppered with accents (sound effects that compliment the individual layers, like sprinkles atop the icing on the cake). Big room house is not exactly known for that. In fact, imo, it's known for the exact opposite. You could produce a big room house track by simply sounding the buttons on a fire truck engine, recording them, and then throwing a basic beat into the mix.

Ayu can have fun tracks, she always has, but when she stuck with Japanese composers, arrangers and producers, they've always been, well, for the most part, entirely HER and on par with HER brand. These western artists don't understand her brand, and have no interest in understanding it, so the tracks never sound quite right with her singing them.

I really want some more inspiration that created NEXT LEVEL album. I need something to dance around to

tokyoxjapanxfan 9th February 2016 04:24 AM

What is the song Number 9 considered?

Because I'd love a song like this.

Uknow! 9th February 2016 06:15 AM

^ I can't stand the original version of Number 9 cause it's boring for me, I prefer this version (the same but they changed the part I don't like)

Lolwhut.

The argument saying that "since Winter Diary is a Xmax song, t will not be put on the next album" is completely absurd...
Avex did'nt hesitate to put 2 f**king mini-albums in a full-album, then do legitimately think that they won't put on her next album a song that has an unreleased PV ?!
Seriously guys ?

Avex proved us wrong many times....
"No, there won't be 'LOVE again', it's too ridiculous putting both names of the minis together....",
"No, there won't be a Terminal single, it's such a nonsense if it's released after the album",
"No, after 'FIVE', she won't name her next mini 'Six', it's ridiculous..."

thinkingoutloud89 9th February 2016 02:32 PM

^why do you always say avex? I think ayu still contorls which songs go where. Its different with bonus-tracks maybe but for the actual albums, its all her.

Aderianu 9th February 2016 02:57 PM

^ I think she's not the one who decide it. Even tracklist on her own album

Gustavopc 9th February 2016 03:40 PM

I guess there's a bit of both her staff and her making these decisions, but not top-avex-corporate-people. Unless maybe in cases like this 15th anniv version of A BEST, that idea seems like it could have come from these people, but the LOVE again "fiasco" is probably on her and her staff to blame.

Probably.

this is ridic, and the situations are different. it would be like if mariah carey put "all i want for christmas is you" on an original studio album. i would want to slap the shit out of whoever made that brilliant decision too.

Next_Level29 9th February 2016 05:52 PM

i hope that ayus making her decisions if not it would be like a luxus-prison .. :D but somehow i think, we have a reached a point where we criticize everything. First Ayus decisions and now its avex decisions, like hey, we have been in this business for over 50 years, we can judge what is good for the majority of people

Actually Mariah Carey did this in her Merry xmas 2 you album, the ultrafestive version it's actually the same...

With Ayu we can't know nothing for sure, it's like You and me in A Best Summer and then in Love mini like a remix, then in Love Again "again".

I find Ayu's and Mariah's direction of their works are pretty similar lately, like my too favorites singers in the world are managed by a monkey on drugs. Mariah Carey last best album was the old number one album with more number one added on it and a new song that flop down in the river.
