Numerous albums have been released on this date ((miss)understood and GUILTY off the top of my head) as well. She did announce her hearing loss on January 1st too. It seems Ayu is a big believer in the power of new year :)

I mean they got straight on a plane after CDL to fly to Vegas and get married :laugh Can’t remember if they got hitched on Jan 1st and she ended up announcing it later that day or if she announced a few days later that it had happened on Jan 1st

I totally forgot that timeline of events... but yeah, they got married on January 1st in Las Vegas, and she posted about being engaged on January 1st on TA. I think news websites were the ones who broke the news a few days later that they actually got married and where.

Usually in the past the reason was because she also had a release coming out at the time. It would also take advantage of the 2 weeks for the last "week" of the year saleswise to maximize "first week" sales. That was also why a lot of people thought that with every release, something scandalous would also be mentioned since glitter/fated and how the Nagase breakup was announced JUST before that release. And a lot f releases after that had something that was 'big news' alongside an album or single but the single "news" was not as common.

After performing Virgin Road on Kohaku in a wedding dress after her CDL as well. I always thought the timing of everything seemed to be about promotion for Love Songs.

I do think the actual announcement means that next time there will be other things announced like new music since she got the live "breaking news" out of the way. Maybe next time will be CDL + music?
