^ Or rather they don't know much? I mean Ayu's NEXT LEVEL is a prime example of how bad promotion/advertising can lead to not-so-good sales... and I mean I've really never like 'seen' any big Yuan promos after the NANA thingy...
And she has some of the most beautiful songs ever like trust you and miss you... and got to sing a duet with Celine Dion, but it seems like no one "knows' Yuna or what she has been up to, and those 19k+ ppl who bought DREAM are more or less her hardcore fans or something :bsigh I don't know... and it's a 5 album contract, well 2 more before she has the option to move to another recording company! |

I think what's lacking with poor Yuna's lack of promotion no thanks to STUDIOSEVEN Recordings Jun Xiang we have to stop replying at the same time xD xD |
Sony is known for promoting only if there's a major tie-in. That's what Sony relies on, they pretty much do nothing beyond that. For example, H&MC was promoted like crazy during Ichirin no Hana release -Bleach was ultra popular then-, getting on almost every live TV performance possible. Enari ~Tooku ni Aru Akari~ has a modest Gundam tie-in and no TV performances. Sorry best example I can come up with where I really know what I'm talking about.

guys I called Sony BMG earlier on & they told me that the OS press for DREAM will be made available for sale here sometime next week
it will be imported from Hong Kong , just like what they did for WISH & HEART a bit odd that they're manfacturing the S'pore press of Ken Hirai's Ken's Bar II locally though o_O but oh well , both albums will be sold here by next week in due course :D |

Hehe, I've just ordered a CD only version from CD japan.
Does the CD only version (regular ver.) also have that shiny packaging if anyone knows? And how the booklet, etc. ? |
^ For my CD+DVD only the slipcase is shiny and the booklet isn't, so I guess the CD Only isn't shiny :shrug
|
^ Oh,well that's fine I guess. I don't mind it xD.

to be honest, even if something is promoted a lot, it still doesn't mean it's going to sell well. Koi no groovyx2 was promoted A LOT here. A LOT. It was played in shibuya constantly, and trains were plastered with the GAP ads and the tv's even had the making of and interviews playing--yet it sold poorly. And also, Japanese people still like upbeat songs, and Yuna tends to rely on ballad heavy things.
The problem is that she isn't striking a cord with Japanese people. And from what people said about Sony, Miliyah Kato has never really been heavily promoted, she usually has like one performance per new thing, and she's selling well. I think her new album will get #1 if there isn't any big competition. She's becoming a style icon amongst Japanese youth and her lyrics are really meaningful. A lot of people here don't speak Japanese and therefore only listen to Yuna for her personality and the music of her songs. The lyrics meaning's aren't the most important things to you (generally speaking) so it's easy to say that this album is amazing or something like that. I'm not trying to say that popularity in general doesn't account for a lot of sales, but I mean, there are a lot of other aspects. :D |
^ Haha, you've made a cool point here... she doesn't strike a chord with the Japanese... as in, the lyrics do not click with them? Eh, true though, I don't know any of her translations... though I really like how miss you sounds.
Hmm... I don't know, it's quite sad then~ |
the CD pics looks so pretty! :love
|
Wow, the cover looks so much prettier physically.
|
