jeeze. I wish i had family like these. hehe My family just calls it "your japanese ****". They still don't know who my favorite singer is, even though I have been to her concert, and talked about her a lot, and own most of her albums and singles. They really couldn't give a **** about what I like. same way with my brother and sisters. they're patriotic and it's ludicrous to them that I listen to anything in a language I don't understand.

Give me ayu and utada over jay-z and justin beiber any day. >>

My family is pretty much the same.
They cant understand how i can listen to music that i dont understand, but i can just look up the translation and problem solved.
The only one who isnt so bad is my mom, she's like once you get over the uber high pitched ness of ayu, its not actually that bad.
I think it just depends on how open to new ideas a family is. :P

I think that sort of attitude (oh it's foreign? And I've never heard of it? Then it's ****) sucks soo bad. I CAN'T stand it. Who would want to defend the music that they like listening to? That was all that I did when I was around 16-something. Everybody kept asking me "why do you listen to japanese music?" Well, obviously because I like it.

I just noticed, in the video...Ayu wears the most gorgeous dress that I've seen in a long time! *in love*

Hahaha...My family actually don't like Ayu at first...but I played Ayu song (almost everyday :))..they started to like her..even my parents know her~~my siblings even asked me when will Ayu release her new album/singles..they say, "She (Ayu) have a great music/nice composition/nice lyrics/wonderful PV!!!"

My mom's personal favourite song, "Curtain Call"...my dad's personal cellphone ringtone, "depend on you"...Heheheh...my family is really supportive.. :) :)...

Haha my parents don't care if I have my music loud. And my brothers don't mind since they're into the whole anime thing so their use to listening stuff they don't understand. And my little sister actually likes a couple of Ayu's songs. Mostly the cutesy&upbeat songs. (She's 8 XD)

Anyways, I really can't wait to hear SEVEN DAYS WAR. I'm so curious to hear how the arrangements will be.

Nya Now I like the music. But I think the song would be better with an orchestra. I hope in L single have an orchestra version of crossroad. Then crossroad can be epic for me =D

Jeez, what are all of these negative comments on Japanese music? Music is universal language. Good music is good, no matter what language is.

^^ayu has proven to me that music does transcend language as well. I didn't know more than like 3 japanese words when I first discovered her.
