:yes:yes Agreed, but for the nonstop would you consider it just one genre or a mix of all of them?

it's definitely a mix of a few different ones.

and lmao at people having the nerve to tell others to get a life while they post meaningless three-word sentences all throughout the forum. must suck to have no social life.

Not sure what definition you were reading, dear.

I did kind of repeat what you said, only because I don't think you get the point. It's not just called ayu-mi-x 7 because it's not ayu-mi-x 7. It's specifically the house genre, not a melange. Listen to a house nation album and then listen to an ayu-mi-x. They're not the same.

Awww... I was kind of hoping for stuff similar to her other remix albums but if it's specifically HOUSE, I'll have to check out what that genre is to see if I like it because I'm not familiar with it.

It'll be like some of them, like it was said. :yes

glitter x SOUL CENTRAL is a good example of basic house music, I think.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 15th March 2011 05:29 AM

^^honestly, a lot of the other ayu-mi-x selections ARE house. not all of them, but a lot of tracks, especially on ayu-mi-x II through IV, are house.

I think i tend to agree, this isn't a regular ayu-mi-x. Which is cool, its like she is reinventing it the albums.
Which by the way, do you have an example of a good house cd which would be something to judge it by?

Zeke. 15th March 2011 05:34 AM

The only way you really can learn how to distinguish the genres of Electronic Dance Music is from listening experience. It is very hard to put into words but:

Trance is usually more synth-based, usually a slight ambient feeling. Euphoric.

House is becoming more and more broad so it's hard to say what house is and what house was. But for the most part, you can tell when something is true house (because it sucks). It used to have a more "funky" feel with similarities to disco (as mentioned below was the SOUL CENTRAL remix of glitter). But electro-house is more popular now and a good example would be some of the garbage the Black Eyed Peas puts out and David Guetta. Lol, well imo I just don't like the majority of house music.

Eurobeat is kinda hyper, pretty much always used the same kind of synth. It's very "Dance Dance Revolution".

It's dull in comparison to the rest of the remixes, but better than the original to me... xD;

I feel like unless you were actively on the forum in the days when ayu trance 4 was initially announced, you don't really get it. :/

PS off topic but your font is overbearing, annoying, and unnecessary. since you seem to be all about opinions. :)

I'm done with this thread, arguing here is pointless. Even if I am wrong, I am still entitled to an opinion even if it's wrong. This argument is just like a religion argument "Jesus", "NO Buddha" it's a belief that we either did or didn't suggest the idea to them and they did it for us or not. I'M ALSO NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS! Did Max Matsuura or Ayu ever say "thank you guys we did this because you Twittered us" NO. Something is only a fact when there is ABSOLUTE PROOF and there isn't. All we know is that a lot of fans Twittered Max and Ayu and I WAS THERE FOR THE WHOLE THING. I remember when it was announced that ONLY an Ayu Trance was being considered a couple months ago and then I went off and Twittered Ayu and Max and asked them "wow is this true". Then soon afterward they made a remix album, YOU DON'T KNOW IF THEY WERE ALREADY BEGINNING TO PLAN ONE. We just pushed the idea HARDER but perhaps not the WHOLE IDEA. There is no ABSOLUTE PROOF.

Please don't call me ignorant, learning in psychology if you want to prove a point you insult a person as a whole last when you don't have anything else to use to back up your statement. Calling me ignorant is an insult on me as a whole person and it's not true, I'm a very well-educated woman. I'm not ignorant if I know all the FACTS which are...

-Several of us Twittered Ayu and Max asking for new remix albums (which I did EVEN BEFORE THE FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT)
-It was announced on here that Max and Ayu began discussing it an said something like "we haven't done that style [Ayu Trance] in a while let's do it"
-It was then announced that an Ayu Trance would be released
-We later found out that many Japanese fans were requesting an Ayu-ro album
-The box set release was announced.

Considering that the last remix albums she released were only Ayu-mi-x albums and no Ayu trance or Ayu-ro they were probably planning on releasing another Ayu-mi-x album(s). Trance and Euro beat are really old styles in Japan and Avex artists don't really have many (I'm not saying none) Trance or Euro beat remixes anymore. So I know we suggested some of the albums. I'm just not saying ALL

I'm done with this thread now, NO I'm not running away from my problems, I just have better stuff to do with my time.

No problem, I won't use a bold font anymore considering you are the second to not like it hahah

I agree - even though she has had done this genre in spurts here and there, this is the first album that is all house and I think that's pretty neat. But I'm biased because it's one of my favorite genres.

And sure! Both of Kuu's DRIVING HITS have been pure house with a few electro house songs thrown in. They all have pretty much the same bpm and are easily danceable.

deadmau5's "For Lack of A Better Name" is progressive house, which means that it sticks to the house 4/4 beat (generally 128 bpm) but also combines some trance elements into it. His "Random Album Title" is the same, but much more trancier than the former.

Felix Cartal recently released the album "Popular Music" which is electro house. So still the 4/4 beat for the most part plus more synths.

I agree that it's kind of dull, but considering the remixers we have on board for the house album, I'm sure they'll make it interesting. Shinichi's and Razor n Guido's will definitely have electro elements mixed in with the house.

TeamAyu2004 15th March 2011 05:44 AM

Cool thanks for all the examples.. I have the kuu albums and have been planning on listening to them so now I know what kind of music it will be!

As for the post above you... Wow... just wow...

To all trance lovers, I recommend listening to this before you shut out house music entirely. :yes

This sounds better than the crap I ran into on youtube. xD; I was getting worried when I heard some of the HOUSE NATION stuff.

Much better than most house but again, I feel like it doesn't fully take off. It's just kind of background music. Has a nice feel but not something that I'd get stuck in my head or spend my time listening to. Thanks for this though. Sounds like good progression to a chill/what could be a warmer trance song but that's all it is, is progression and never arrives at the destination.

I have tried to get into house time and time again but there's like .01% of house that I actually like and it's usually because it's not full house it has stronger elements to it.

TeamAyu2004 15th March 2011 05:49 AM

Ah, well it's actually a cut of the full 8 minute version. I didn't want to link that though because 8 minutes is kind of intimidating to some.

But I respect your opinion and glad you at least tried it.

I do like that, if the ayu-mi-x house sounds like that, BUT with words, then this would be fantastic
