Especially considering that Bayonetta got a perfect score and Uncharted 2 didn't :innocent And come on, I doubt that any person with a sane mind could actually prefer FFXII over FFX and give FFX the same ranking as the one FFXIII got >_>

Uncharted is an american style game, famitsu is a japanese magazine, Japanese gamers might not like as much an american style game like that, as they do with an arcade style game like Bayonetta.... I thought that FFXII was incredibly good and deserved what it got. i think your complaining about famitsu being biased when at the same time you disagree with games you dont like getting a good rating, and games you do not doing so well... 20+ years of gaming doesn't remove bias.

^ uncharted is an american style gaming and I think thats a big thing that bothered the magazine.
It's two different styles of gaming and I can understand why they wouldn't rated it as high. I prefer Japanese style games more and don't like things like halo and uncharted... so I think i would of rated it lower too... but graphically i liked it. :)

No...that's beyond the point. When it comes to Uncharted 2, this is the list of the awards that the game has got since it was released. So I am not sure if the famed Famitsu couldn't see what everyone else has or if Naughty Dog and Sony just didn't wanna pay up >_>

Spoiler:

I am not a fan of Uncharted although I've enjoyed both games. Now if you do your research you will see that Bayonetta was an epic fail compared to it. Now I've completed over 400 games since I was 5, so that kinda gives me around 20 years of gaming experience, it's not that I am talking out of my ass here ^^

Sorry for being off topic, but gaming is my field of knowledge~

A review is basically an opinion... an opinion given (sometimes) by a specialist, still, a opinion... Famitsu reviewers having a different gaming taste than yours (being it by cultural differences, expectative differences, or even for being a game genre that appeal more to them than to you) don't make them sell outs or anything like that...

Famitsu was first released on 1986, considering how much perfect or almost perfect scores they gave over those 25 years, they at least seen to really hard to please.

BTW, I really enjoyed Bayonetta... fun and intuitive gameplay, beautiful graphics, catchy music and cute girls... Even if I do agree it wasn't praised by everyone, most of the games on the perfect score lists are pretty much well known for being considered to be among the best...

Games are not my as much my thing as they seen to be yours, anyway, unless we start talking about fighting games...^^

That's not possible if Tales Version will boost the sales to all of the Tales fans. Just searching in some tales forums, FIVE Limited already sold out in HMV, CDJ, YA, PA, even in Tower Records =="

Some Tales fans were mad because when they're gonna buy FIVE on the shops along with Xillia, it already sold out on 6th ==" :grumpy

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2011 11:00 PM

^that sucks, glad I ordered my a month in advance!
Could not wait!! Lol, and it still hasnt come in the mail!! AHH!!

AyumiAi 9th September 2011 02:45 AM

they underestimated the tales of fans!

TeamAyu2004 9th September 2011 03:00 AM

^ Tales games are AMAZING! I think I like them more than the FF series! :luv2
But I wonder if Five is sold out, or is it just the limited edition?

I would say Famitsu was used to be well respected. They didn't give any perfect score until 1998, and in between 1998 - 2006, there were only 6 perfect scores given. Lately tho people kinda doubt about their scoring system because 9 perfect scores were given in just last three years, and they said famitsu has been trying to please bigger companies in recent years.

I won't say famitsu is not trust worthy, but I'm just confused how all of the sudden they can give that many perfect scores...?

truehappiness 9th September 2011 03:39 AM

It's just the limited edition which is understandable. I wonder how many they made?

I was "What?"-ing at the fact that the Love songs USB+photobook+DVD edition is 60% off at Amazon.co.jp still... I guess they made too many despite being a 'limited press' and are trying to avoid still having limited editions laying around in shops?

TeamAyu2004 9th September 2011 04:16 AM

^ that's good to know! I might get myself one!

EDIT:
But I would like to know how many special copies they made too... its pretty interesting...

brener 9th September 2011 04:29 AM

i guess avex made at least 50k copies of limited editions...

9 perfect scores in 3 years still is a very low number... If u consider how many games are released every year (if i'm not wrong, the games industry is having a peak of releases for some years now), only 3 games per year to be considered good enough to get a perfect score is almost bizarre...

TeamAyu2004 9th September 2011 04:42 AM

^ I guess you could say with the boost in how many games there are they would give out more perfect scores because the chances are up.
But also one would think that if the company's are making more the quality of the games would go down because the rush and how many things are being developed and all that other stuff

njanjayrp 9th September 2011 06:50 AM

^ imo the quality of the games went down after 2005/6.

Hmm
Grand Theft Auto IV (2008, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[26]
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009, Activision, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[27]
Red Dead Redemption (2010, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[29]
Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010, Activision, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[31]
L.A. Noire (2011, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[33]

Those are all American "style" games. Oddly 3 of them were produced by Rockstar.

We're all all biased in a way...but it doesn't always mean we're wrong :P In other words I couldn't care less about Famitsu Rankings as I believe they are hardly as credible as they used to be.

Jason 9th September 2011 07:18 AM

Even if Famitsu don't give out too many "perfect" scores they still give awfully high scores to most RPG's that make their way to the shelves.

I stopped taking them seriously when they gave Final Fantasy XIII a 39/40. I was very excited when the game got that score as I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan. To this day I got halfway through it and it's never come off my shelf ever since. It's essentially a dust collector now.

I think Tales will be a good game, though. Namco Bandai have made some killer RPG's over the years that had me addicted for months. I also hope it does raise the sales of FIVE a bit :)

ayumisrael 9th September 2011 07:24 AM

I just started playing "Eternal Sonata" and I love it!

But let's stay on topic guys xD

I really wonder if the shipped copies of FIVE+ToX game together from yesterday will give any boost... we will see in a few hours.

I LOVE ETERNAL SONATA! :) That game does not get enough love...

But I really hope FIVE gets a big boost from the release of the game. I mean, if I didn't know of Ayu and I heard progress with that epic opening scene I'd be inclined to check it out. How can you not love it? :P
