^^Same. TSMGO is a great song, it probably doesn't fit the CM perfectly lyrically speaking, but not speaking Japanese makes it a lot easier to overlook that.

I do need to disagree with you on Snowy Kiss though since it's one of my favorite songs.

Totally agree with Anything for you.

One song that I feel drags forever is Crossroad haha.

It's really really beautiful, like if I would marry someday, I would probably devote this song to my sweetheart at the wedding (lol not actually singing it). It could be a great wedding gift song, way more than The GIFT. hahaha...

The GIFT is like saying "I love you babe, the next guy is where it's at!" Bad to dedicate to a first love.

Delicious n Bold 18th May 2015 09:42 PM

^ is that what "The GIFT" implies?

attractive nausea 18th May 2015 09:50 PM

I think that what dreamlover13 is trying to say is that, the GIFT is a wedding song, so a song you can only dedicate to a "very serious love you know is gonna last forever". So from their point of view it's hard to think of your current bf/gf while listening to it because you're not sure if they're the one??

But i always thought of marrying the guys i fell in love with, so i personally don't have trouble dedicating the GIFT to them

I'm saying the music video + lyrics implies that, yeah she married Mannie and thought she was happy, but new guy (Tyson?) is the real love of her life and that all the struggles were for her to meet him.

Well, I have to agree with Gustavo about snowy kiss... until TSMGO came out. TSMGO is snowy kiss a bit better refined, and there is something very special about both songs as a result of TSMGO.

I thought I would be very upset with Ayu for not only blatantly copying the melodies of two of her own songs with little alteration and for doing it on the same record. But I feel like coming to this forum every day and exclaiming how this is the 46th straight day I've listened to at least one song from A ONE. I haven't been this in love with an Ayumi record since NEXT LEVEL. TSMGO, Anything for You, Walk, even Last minute have grown so much on me.

I don't think I will ever let Ayu off the hook for The GIFT and Lm PVs though. Lm deserved something on par with her PVs from GUILTY and MY STORY and (miss)understood. And The GIFT should not have been given a PV. There are so many better written, better produced, better sung tracks on A ONE. But it has been done. In Ayu's defense though, it's not like she's filmed anything worth mentioning since the Virgin Road / Love Song / Last angel trilogy.

I just hope this quality of record isn't a one-off release. Hearing Step by step, I don't think it will be, but only time will tell.

Oddly enough, whenever I listen to Anything for You, I don't feel like it's seven minutes long. I guess I just really enjoy the song.

ayumisrael 19th May 2015 02:35 PM

Me too, I really love Anything for you (saying it again lol).

Maybe it's because most of it goes the same (most of it are choruses).

Zeke. 19th May 2015 05:26 PM

Well, Anything for you has a nice evolution and smooth progression. It was handled very nicely so you feel the song is constantly evolving rather than simply repeating.

ALfromHELLSING 19th May 2015 05:46 PM

Honestly, I'm surprised how much I liked this album. When I first heard the previews I thought I'm gonna like it even less than Colours but after playing it just once I realized that I liked all songs. Except for one. Yes, this album would have been perfect if it wasn't for Walk. I hope this one will grow on me eventually. It just feels so boring compared to everything else, even The GIFT sounds so much better. This is my favourite Ayu's album since Love songs. It's just so damn good. Awesome job Ayu.

I love Snowy Kiss - it's just such an energetic, bonkers pop song. And it's all about that guitar-instrumental-breakdown!

Yes, I am finding myself even more Ayu-ddicted recently! God I love TSMGO - I wish it had got a PV!

Yay, a positive Step By Step comment to get me hyped!

And yep, I love listening to Anything For You knowing I have 7 whole mins to enjoy it! I'm starting to think TSMGO could do with an extra minute actually!

EDIT: Loving those classical versions!!

I love snowy kiss so much, TSMGO is weak imo, the vocals put me off a little.

Anything for you is nice, but it feels a bit too long for me.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 23rd May 2015 04:14 PM

^Opposite for me. I love TSMGO soooo much more! :heart
