I believe it's being released the week before the single, on October 13th. that hasn't been confirmed yet, though.

actually, they've got quite a bit of stuff coming out in October:
  • "Ghost Hunting With..." DVD on the 6th
  • Dreams That Glitter: Our Story on the 9th
  • "Tangled Up" tour DVD on the 13th
  • new single on the 20th

and, of course, the album is out in early November.

I'm so excited for the new single and the new album!! I wish I was in the UK, so everything were a little more accessible, but I might be studying abroad there next year, so hopefully they're still together by then!

Also, I was wondering if anyone has the whole of 'Mixed Up' because I only have one song from it, and I can't join girlsaloudmedia to get it because they're not accepting members right now :( If anyone could help out, I'd be sooo grateful!

I have it. it's one, long megamix, though. I'll add it to the GA discography thread in downloads.

p3ayu 11th September 2008 05:47 AM

You're amazing! Thanks sooo much!

drewbilation 11th September 2008 05:56 PM

the new single's title is "The Promise."

edit~ also, the release date has been confirmed as October 27th.

bondingo 12th September 2008 12:33 AM

That's an interesting title. With a name like that I'm almost expecting it to be a ballad. If it is, I definitely hope it's a good one.

drewbilation 12th September 2008 03:47 AM

^ nah, it's not a ballad (thank god). the official site calls it a "stormer of a track."

Haha, that's very good to hear. I would use that same description for "Sexy! No No No..." so if it's anywhere near as great as that song, I will be very pleased. I'm happy enough to hear it isn't a ballad.

That would make me happy too. They have some nice ballads, but I mostly prefer their more aggressive/energetic tracks.

even though the episode has already aired in the UK tonight, I thought this was an interesting article. I especially loved Cheryl's dig at Louis. <3

Simon's doing my head in

FED-UP X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has blasted Simon Cowell, raging: "You are doing my head in."

The furious Girls Aloud singer, 25, also accused her co-star of not letting her make up her own mind.

And in a fiery episode she also claims her band's former manager Louis Walsh knows nothing about girl groups.

The row with Simon, 48, erupted when he dubbed an act Cheryl loved as "sub-standard."

Cheryl admits she is fighting a losing battle - then Simon smirks: "You don't want to do this anymore, do you?"

The beauty then snaps: "I do, but it's you, Simon - you are doing my head in."

The row continues when Simon tries to convince her a girl she has doubts about is ready for the show.

Cheryl rages: "I don't have to give her a shot because you are telling me I have to."

She adds: "I am going to make my own decision."

The singer and Louis, 56, start sniping during a girl band's audition when the Irish judge makes a joke about similar acts who can't sing, and adds: "You know about girl groups, Cheryl."

She hits back: "That's right Louis, and you don't."

Catch the fireworks tonight on ITV1 at 7.30pm.
also, club promos of "The Promise" have already sent out, so we should get an HQ leak shortly after its radio premiere, if not before. I am so anxious to hear this, lolz.

drewbilation 14th September 2008 07:45 PM

for anyone who wants to listen live to the premiere, just go to the BBC Radio 1 site, and click "listen live" at the top. you'll need Real Player, though.

Switch starts in about 15 minutes, and GA will hopefully be played fairly early in the show.

bondingo 14th September 2008 08:04 PM

I've been listening to Radio1 for the last 10 minutes or so and I can't even wait any longer. I'm getting all nervously excited for them to just play the song!

drewbilation 14th September 2008 08:07 PM

they were just talking about playing the premiere, and played a few seconds of "Something Kinda Ooooh." I nearly died, thinking it was the new song. I've never been so disappointed to hear SKO before, lol.

I heard that too and I thought the same thing. What a disappointment. They better not wait too long to play it.

EDIT: They mentioned Girls Aloud Media :laugh

drewbilation 14th September 2008 08:24 PM

they'll be playing it in 35 minutes! sooo excited!

edit~ they just played about five seconds of it. "one, two, three, four~"

this is going to IMMENSE. omg.

milky_way 14th September 2008 09:13 PM

Hopefully someone'll be able to rip it :D *is excited*

drewbilation 14th September 2008 09:21 PM

they're playing it next. finally.

milky_way, I'll be recording it, and the Nadine interview.

milky_way 14th September 2008 09:22 PM

^ YAY!!! :shughug
You're the best :D

bondingo 14th September 2008 09:37 PM

Not at all what I was expecting...

However, it was very good. The chorus is really catchy and there's just something very appealing about it.
