sparkle glitter 26th March 2009 12:52 PM

Holy crap. The sales are really true. What has become of her? I'm so ashamed.

KarenPang 26th March 2009 12:54 PM

^ I just don't get people when they compare her previous 1st week sales's albums as compared to now

so much for being realistic & demanding beyond reasonable doubt :rolleyes , you should be glad that she still have selling power , other people ain't so lucky as her & for someone to have survive in the business for 11 years+ , it's commendable

Any particular reason you are ashamed? I don't get because she can't sell like she use to it's the end of her career or something?

that's a dumb reason if that's true

~Inori~ 26th March 2009 01:00 PM

^I know right. People need to grow up, at least she's doing well for someone who has been around for so long. Be happy look at Seiko, her career was pretty much (not really sure) over after she lost her #1 streak. Be glad it's not happening to Ayumi.

spot on :yes

it's tough & frankly not easily to have this much selling power after 11 years+ in the business & especially if you're a solo artiste & the only thing some childish people on here does's complain & complain even more

that or it's a generation gap issue on my part

totally soooooo agreed with you :yes it's her eleventh year in the industry and she's definitely doing fine. even with this sales, she's still consider the few better solo female in japan.
I'm happy with the sales as long as it hit 500,000copies in the end. ever if it doesn't, i love the album as it is =)

yeah , female solo artistes have come & go but she's still around after many years

frankly I don't think sales matter that much to her anymore (I mean she's rich beyond words that I can't describe :laugh)

as long as NEXT LEVEL can nail a #1 it's fine

waterballoon 26th March 2009 01:33 PM

@sparkle_glitter and a_kingdom_21: Get a life.

Anyway, the drop is expected... she's gonna perform Rule tomorrow right? Perhaps that'll help sales a little. Which day of the week is it that sales for everything just drop a lot? I wanna get mentally prepared for that day. :P

But whatever it is, #1 weekly is kind of secured I think, Tohoshinki had a massive drop as well. Glad that she's still holding #1s and selling relatively well when comparing to the market (and NOT her "past", which is unrealistic).

Yoo Bin 26th March 2009 01:35 PM

.....so we can call this a flop too now right? http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...ilingnails.gif Good! Now all the current divas are flopping [sales-wise] so none us shouldn't even be surprised anymore. Too much expectation can crash and burn in a heartbeat. At this point I don't see the album making it to 350k+ but it should sale okay for the next few weeks. I dun think it's going to chart for long tho.

yeah everyone more or less dropped big time alongside with her , I'm quite sure that the #1 weekly spot is more or less secured for her

tokyoxjapanxfan 26th March 2009 01:36 PM

lol i dont even care about sales anymore, tbh...

i love, love, love this album. like, seriously. i haven't loved an album this much since my story...hahaha, MAYBE (miss)understood...but i actually would put next level as one of her top albums, in my opinion.

Batera 26th March 2009 01:42 PM

Well, we have to see that Japan is over a economy crisis these days...
My friends that have gone to Japan is now coming back to Brazil because of that.

So, seeing this, the sales are pretty good! Ayu's sales are awesome!
I don't know if it's true but I was told that many japaneses are unemployed... sadly
I'm sure that if there's no economy crisis, the sales would be much better!

Anyways, maybe on weekend the sales will get high again! ^^

Luvia 26th March 2009 01:58 PM

as for mi as long as ayu is still producing Great Quality Albums and songs.. nothing matters at all... cheer up fans.. its just numbers!!

a_kingdom21 26th March 2009 02:08 PM

i have a life n im very happy with ma life..

i still able to write a post on AHS is a proof that i'm alive..

LoL..!!

I am just a little shock with this kind of thing lately..

yes..
ayu has been in music industry for a long time n still able to sell in high range..

but..
watchin her drop little by little is just a pain..

every artist always come n gone..n they cant always be d most popular..

i understand it well..
but still it's.........

n who were dissapointed bout this sales not only me n sparkle glitter MRS PANG..

but u always point ur finger at me..that goìn me offend..

Zemus 26th March 2009 02:13 PM

To be honest, these sales aren't too bad. You have to take current economy situation, years she has been active into consideration etc... Compared to other artists she is still doing extremely well. I don't see why some of you are panicking about all this.

Define "over". It's true that Seiko's sales dropped drastically when she lost the #1 streak. A certain scandal effected the sales drop as well. However, 20 years later, I'd say she is doing OK considering that she has pretty much sold out concert tours and Xmas Dinner Shows every year. Seiko's been in the entertainment business for 30 years now. I find that extremely respectable for a female artist. Nowadays, her singles sell around 10k each. Not anything to brag about really, but still good enough, because there are new/current artists that struggle to sell this much (alan, Ami Suzuki, Hitomi Shimatani to name a few). My point is that I don't think it was over for her back then. :)

It will be interesting to see if Ayumi can maintain steady sales when the day comes when her single streak is lost. Hopefully... :yes

you should ask yourself as to why I singled you out of all people , look at what you wrote a few pages back

:yes I suppose if not for the current economy downturn , NEXT LEVEL's sales will be better for sure

as long as it can nail a #1 overall , it's good enough for me

SURREAL__RAINBOW 26th March 2009 02:21 PM

lol people should get over themselves LOL

as someone said already :P

ArchangelLegend 26th March 2009 02:22 PM

I'm very ashamed. These numbers are so good. I thought the sales would start of being less than 50K. I'm sorry Ayu for doubting you. I'm so sad and need to get a life.
