you guys have to remember oricon is not really the final say in anything. kumi's "stay with me" sold 2.5+ mil but it did pretty crappy on the oricon. a lot of people prefer to buy digitally now.
it's just a chart position though. of course we all wanted her to be number 1 but this isn't ayu, it's our kumi kuu! she didn't have some amazing streak to uphold :roflmao though i am kind of speaking too soon, the world may flip upside down and tegomass may drop way below kumi. but .. i don't think so |

#2 is still good... with regards to JE, I would take that they don't exist on the charts so people need to move up to fill up the spaces. :) 25k for 1st day is still good imo, I hope it stays stable (and also the word should flip upside down now! lol)! |

I don't think she disappoints, but not even doing great like before. :yes |
she hasn't disappointed me since that ain't cool :cool
ok so working with misono was a little disappointing but at least i got faraway out of that |
yeah those sales better stay steady because if not then for a 3-aside that's not so good.
hopefully for her next single she'll have some better songs/PV's and better sales. (i do like hashire though.. but everyone seems to hate it :laugh) but i think this single tried to recreate 4 HOT WAVE and failed :no btw how awesome are the PV's for 4 HOT WAVE? i was watching them again yesterday. now that was a perfect summer single! |

Oh when comes to me, I can't say Kuu disappoints me simply because I like her discography on some weird way. Now I enjoy Best ~first things~ & Kingdom the most. Black Cherry isn't bad, but at the end becomes really bad. So...I just love some songs, and some are a total crap, like I can't stand them, a total garbage. (reffering to Trick). |

Most of the downloaders downloaded a 30-50 seconds of the song, Also kuu had no song that sold even 100,000 (digitally) since then so the million people dissapeared, physical buyers are more consitent and interest in an artist (rather than a song or a chorus of a song) can be checked more over them and also the profit from legal downloads are barely 1% from physical sales. Most likely because of those reasons artists and labels consist on release physical CDs. But yeah it wasn't bad at all. I wish kuu's sales were better but I agree that kuu had better singles though I liked all of the songs. |

i feel the same way, but i loved trick.. it was a step up from kingdom for me. to be honest i am getting kind of sick of the whole electro route that jpop is doing, though. maybe because korea has been doing it for years and japan is just now going through that phase. it's getting kind of old (ayu, kuu, namie, basically everyone under the sun) Quote:

I thought TRICK was just ok, especially if I ignore a couple of tracks on it. Ku has loads of really good songs (even from her pre Secret era), but besides the best ofs there isn't really a particular album that I like more than the other one.

So yeah, people have different opinions :mischief |

GReeeeN - Kiseki: On May 28, 2009, the sales of the full-track digital-format version (Chaku-Uta Full) of the song passed 2.3 million copies, surpassing the sales of Thelma Aoyama's single "Soba ni Iru ne" and becoming the best-selling full-track digital single in Japan.[1] The song was given the certificate for the "best selling download single in Japan" by the Guinness World Records on June 29, 2009. So from what you said, Stay with me should be holding that record lol and we all know it wasn't nearly as popular as kiseki. Whoever said it did well digitally was lying, especially cuz Days took the #1 position for December for digital downloads, so should we imagine how much Days sold digitally then? I think that Oricon still reflects the popularity of the release quite well, at least compared to the other releases :) |
^ :D and stay with me is like... the most boring ballad on TRICK and overall.

I'm looking forward to her next single something fierce though! I hope she doesn't let me down ^-^b |

her next single is a ballad, Alive. i don't think it's going to be that fierce thing you're looking for :roflmao |

But yeah, I don't usually like ballads unless they're by Ayu or Gackt, but the fact that it's covering an opera song totally peeks my interest! I think it's way more interesting than 3 SPLASH. |
hmmm if we think really well FREAKY'S Debut was 25-29k and she sold really well in first week so wait and see :yes
|
I was surprised @ the first day's sales...was expecting higher since its 3A, 3pvs and 3 versions...but maybe with the performances later, the sales will be better. This makes me wonder how well ayu's single will sell...o_O
As for the songs and pvs...my ranking: song: Ecstasy>Hashire!>lick me pv: Ecstasy>lick me>Hashire! I actually only like Ecstasy from this single...the song is great but I dislike both Hashire! and lick me. Mostly because of the way she sings in those 2 songs. |
