Maybe it's me, but I'm dumbfounded with the idea that anyone could find this PV "cheap" or "bad."
Seriously, I don't get it. |
I think Ballad PV is perfect!!! it doesn't look cheap at all!
|
I'm just puzzle how BALLAD is a cheap PV... :S
to me this one is truly gorgeous from sets to ayu to storyline what more can a fan ask for...really |
Ballad pv has the same effect on me as days pv. I'm starting to like BALLAD(the song) after watching the PV twice. The first time I was mesmerized by her beauty. The second time, the story really shined.
I really like it and I almost shed a tear with the first letter - Plz don't go... D: Shuya even looks cute here. & The cats are pure win. |
BALLAD PV!? for me, its PERFECT! This is the kind of PV that i've been always wanting Ayu to come up with in a very long time... and i really don't know why but i feel like its like Forgiveness part II. ^_^
|
AMAZING PV!!!!
i never cry while watching ayu's pv it's my first time... T___T |
I really have no idea why they can't make a better cat in the pv. That animated cat is kinda random.
I agree that the plot is overused, but actually I like the pv :). I thought I would hate Shuya's hair (when he first appeared in the pv), but towards the end I like his new look lol. I won't say they are one of the best ayu pvs produced, but these two pvs are much better than Rule/Sparkle/NEXT LEVEL/Sunrise/Sunset imo. |
This PV is stunning... Shuya's and Ayu's acting, the colour schemes and editing is brilliant. I love it. I loved especially how the the wall of the house in front of which Shuya is sitting is full of clocks. And the letter/mailbox idea. Really nice. And I found the cats kinda cool actually :P This PV, also, seems to be full of symbolism even though it's way more straightforward and understandable than You were... PV.

BALLAD clearly ate up the budget that was made for the single and it looks expensive without looking "glamorous". It's beautifully made and the director did a great job story telling-wise. It told a story better in 5 minutes than glitter/fated did in 10 or however long Distance Love was. Shuya surprisingly did a pretty good job and he didn't make me wanna throw a stone at him. And I can't get over just how pretty she is. I'd be happy with just scenes of her in the dress because she just so mesmerizing to look at. :luv2 *Edit: Soo pretty! http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/4...snap981468.png |
The PV for BALLAD is really good. Visually pleasing and Shuya looks nice here *gasp* and I love love love everything with clocks involved. The whole PV has a great atmosphere. Still not feeling the song though, but maybe that'll happen sooner or later. So song wise I still prefer You were... now I'm waiting for PV analysises from you guys, because I'm too lazy to think for myself :D

Wow, the BALLAD PV is really, really awesome. It reminds me of the style of her older PVs. It especially reminds me of the forgiveness PV. I really liked it. Fantastic.
My theory - he's dead, right? That's why the whole time he is waiting, but he is in the afterlife while Ayu survived the crash. Those letters he was getting were prayers from Ayu? But unlike fated, we have that scene after where she is caring for Shuya instead of just sitting there crying.. but it's not clear whether he is still dead or just unconcious. |
Ayu is extremly beautiful in the PV. I love Ayu here and Im so happy Shuya died.
the storyline was similar like Glitter/Fated |
Do we already have the lyrics to BALLAD? I'm wondering here, it seems that the letters Shuya got were excerpts from the lyrics, and I especially want to know what "Sorry" meant at the end.
I think he is still alive, if he was dead they would have covered his face, then Ayu would proceed with weeping. |
Lyrics were already posted in the Official Single thread here.

We are getting amazing singles again!
BALLAD PV is not as good as You Were..., but I still like it very much, only thing that I disliked was Ayus pink dress, not the dress itself, but the color... |

I like that she was able to take an overused plot and make it unique somehow. <3 |
I love the BALLAD PV. It really did give me goosebumps... I loved how they made the story progress, the scene where Shu-ya sees the mailman is him is just amazing! And the symbolism was also great, the weird clock that gets a close-up is just too cool XD
But, for some reason, if there was one thing I didn't like, I think it's that it could have been more visually appealing... I dunno. I'm probably gonna sound like an idiot right now because I don't really know anything about film-making, but here's how it felt to me - with videos like forgiveness or part of Me, since they maintained the same style and color-pallete throughout, it seems like they were more... concise... (and I looked the word up on the dictionary so I know it's not the right one but anyway, lol) like, I could see the whole thing as one big work of art. On BALLAD, each scene looks quite pretty, but somehow it's like they don't come together all that well and it looks kind of messy...? Well, it's not like it's a big deal XD I still love it as a video, I just really like that feeling of loving it as a piece of art like I did with part of Me (it got a award for artistic direction or something too, no?). Oh, aside from that, the fact that fairy-Ayu is wearing a pink dress kind of annoys me XD It's just my personal preference, but I think pink just screams CUTE and ENERGETIC and doesn't really work with drama... and when I see pink on a fantasy setting, I think "Barbie" D: |
BALLAD pv is very interesting and i think the song goes very well with it.
I wonder why animated cats were used... and what does the sorry mean? |
Ok, I finally got to see the BALLAD PV.
I must go with the general consensus and say this is her best pv in quite a long time! She has had a couple of good PVs the last few years, but none that had the same amount of quality or attention to detail at least since the Secret or even Miss Understood eras. Honestly I had almost completely given up on her PVs going back to a higher level of quality. So far for me, the best selling point of this single are the PVs! Didn't think I'd be saying that about an Ayu single these days! :) Unfortunately I still find the song boring though and the one thing in the PV I could do without is the foliage in her hair. :) |
