I don't think the show has started yet. The show-start time is 6PM in Japan and they never start on time, lol.

And it is probably NOT fake since this has happened for the last few years and proven to be almost 100% accurate.

well it's not hard to listen to what's happening inside, just go on the side part of yoyogi and listen, so it could be true.

ENCORE
22. How beautiful you are
23. Trauma~AUDIENCE
24. Boys & Girls
25. MY ALL

Some notes:
- The stage is incredible--it's set up like a real hotel and the set-list is divided by interludes into smaller vignettes of sequences portraying different stories taking place in the hotel rooms. It should be noted, however, that the stage is NOT like the A MUSEUM setup; it's like the ASIA TOUR 2008 model and there was no side-stage present on the south side of the stadium, just a booth for VIPs.

- MOON involved a bed scene featuring a shirtless Maro, scantily-clad female dancer and a pajama-wearing Ayu.

- NEVER EVER seemed to be about fighting couples where the females were angry at their men and closing staged doors on them.

- sending mail featured Ayu as the scorned female lead dealing with an angered Subaru.

- November was fantastic--Shuya is dressed in an outfit similar to what all the dancers were wearing during the forgiveness performance of POWER of MUSIC and he had one angel's wing on his back. He and Ayu perform at the end of the catwalk and there's a water-show much like what we saw during the Boys & Girls performance of ARENA TOUR 2005~MY STORY~.

- Trauma~AUDIENCE only featured the chorus of both songs repeated twice. Altogether, the encore section was pretty short, but I'm not that surprised. Poor Ayu works herself to the bone this time of year--she's probably exhausted to do an extra show along with Kouhaku and still pump out an extra long encore.

In the end, HOTEL Love songs was pretty fantastic as far as storyline and imagery. Ayu's voice was also really strong the whole way through. I'd say the highlight song of the night was sending mail--that song deserves to be performed live ALL THE TIME. It was phenomenal.

The Empress of J-Pop doesn't cease to impress! Nicely done, my dear :).

At least Greggorz had a better opinion of it than me. :) The only thing I would really want to disagree with is the part about the stage looking fantastic. imo, she has had much better looking stages before.

truehappiness 1st January 2012 11:30 PM

I thought the stage was quite possibly one of her most elaborate as of late. (Quite possibly ever?)

AyUmIXx 2nd January 2012 10:50 AM

hmm i've never seen the stage design like this year's CDL before.
so it's something interesting to see.
like the whole band in the middle.. and the moving floor from back to front.. (where the huge LOVE moves from side to the front, that's pretty cool)

Aderianu 2nd January 2012 11:11 AM

Hotel Love songs withot Like a doll is like AT08 without Marionette -_- Hope she'll sing it during Arena tour

axmish87 2nd January 2012 11:33 AM

^^Maybe she'll perform Like a doll at Arena Tour(s)?
Like a doll is an URGE for a live performance XD

Agreed, but it's also a tough song for her to sing live unless she lowers the key :-)) Кстати, записал коллеге кучу японских песен, так одной из пары песен, которые ему действительно понравились, стала именно Like a doll. Мы потом неоднократно ее распевали на работе с ним:D

Can't wait to hear this song with her new vocal ^^

I didn't watch the full concert properly but parts of every song.

I'm quite disappointed. The setlist is great but this concert is so... I don't know.
The whole "hotel" thing seems all over the place. There is a lot of random things going on. It was not a problem with Rock 'n' Roll Circus. But it bugs me here.
The props looked tacky. The scenes were odd too (for example the bed one is terrible imo. Those two beds side by side -weird angle- and all the people jumping and sliding on them...).
The whole stage looked strange, with the bare centered platform and the chorists behind... I didn't really like the background and the colors. To sum up, there was a lot of work behind it, but it's a failure to me. I know it's pretty subjective.
The costumes were tacky (the white sheets, the groom/clown ones were just horrendous...).
I'm so tired of the dancers and already tired of Tim. They're taking more and more importance (Tim's acting and look are so annoying, the latter doesn't even match the theme. Too bad, he seems to be a really nice person).

The Love song perf is exactly what I don't like. You take a great emotional song and you invite all the dancers, you make a stupid choreography and so on. It doesn't fit such a song! On the other hand you put ayu on a chair, Yo chan with an accoustic guitar and that's it, you have an amazing simple perf.

I was relieved when the encore came and everything was back to "normality".

I'm aware it's just my opinion, and it's good people enjoyed it. But the whole thing felt so wrong to me. It's the first time I'm really disappointed with one of her concert.

What I liked : ayu's voice sounded fine. She is "hardly" going off pitch (not as much as usual). I was really impressed. Moreover she sounded quite ill on the previous progress live (she was breathing with difficulty and she sounded raspy and husky). It's odd she managed to sound that good in such a short period of time.

truehappiness 2nd January 2012 08:28 PM

I think that it 'didn't work' for some people because this was an ARENA TOUR concept that became a COUNTDOWN LIVE concert which is why for the Rock'n'Roll Circus tour, everything seemed to work out fine, while here it seemed jumbled and messy. I don't think she's ever really replicated the feel of her tours in a CDL even when all she was doing was recreating performances from previous shows (CDL06-07). Also it should be considered that they usually only put together CDL in a month (or maybe even less time?) before starting rehearsals for everything. I don't really think this should be compared at all to what AT10 was, at least not until we see the tour version of HOTEL Love songs.
