all the previews sound bad... but its just a cheap recording... I want to hear the album.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 2nd September 2013 04:58 PM

Loving every damn song. So excited for ARTPOP, just wow.

Like Sex Dreams. Pleasantly surprised by Swine - thought it'd be just horrid. But, Jewels & Drugs was just dreadful. I loathe rap/hip-hop music but Gaga couldn't even make a good one. It didn't sound too bad until she started in and it was a lot of the same over and over. Speaking of a lot of the same, MANiCURE was also a huge letdown. The pre-chorus I totally loved, but the chorus is maddening.

tokyoxjapanxfan 2nd September 2013 06:17 PM

Sex Dreams is my favorite from that concert.

KremlinChaos 2nd September 2013 07:22 PM

Sex Dreams and Artpop are the best songs from the show.

I was pleasantly surprised by the concert. I enjoyed most of the songs, really looking forward to the album! :)

I really liked what I heard!

Just read this interview regarding the new era, what people have been saying about her downfall, and the new album's concept:

http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...finished#story

"For ARTPOP, I, in the most metaphorical explanation, stood in front of a mirror and I took off the wig and I took off the makeup and I unzipped the outfit and I put a black cap on my head and I covered my body in a black catsuit and I looked in the mirror and I said: 'OK, now you need to show them you can be brilliant without that.' And that's what ARTPOP is all about. Because I knew that if I wanted to grow, if I really wanted to innovate from the inside, I had to do something that was almost impossible for me."

SURREAL__RAINBOW 12th September 2013 02:27 PM

OMG RIHANNA AND GAGA MIGHT HAVE JUST RECORDED A SONG TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mirrorcle Monster 12th September 2013 11:14 PM

I never thought I would be saying this, but I am actually growing tired of Gaga. The problem is that everyhting she does is epic, amazing, iconic... Before she releases it. I like her concepts and ideas, but she doesnt seem to know how to work them out good. With The Fame Monster everything was perfect because she wasnt trying to be anything. With Born This Way she tried too hard to create an iconic album and it wasnt as succesful as she expected... With ARTPOP she is talking about art and pop together. And I actually was very excited about it, until the era started. Applause is a great song, but its pretty safe and even basic. The lyrics are too strange, i dont think they even make sense lol. The video is really great, i was expecting some storyline but still amazing. The VMA performance was meh, her vocals werent good, and it wasnt really memorable. And then the iTunes Festival:
1. Aura: Judas was Bad Romance 2.0, and Aura is Judas 2.0. Stil a great song, but nothing too innovative
2. MANiCURE: a fun and catchy song, lets see if the studio version is great
3. ARTPOP: the lyrics are good, and the beat is great, but it reminds me of Love You Like a Love Song by Selena Gomez
4. Sex Dreams: this is a really great track, the studio version is going to be perfect
5. Jewels & Drugs: im probably the only one who likes it lol
6. I Wanna Be With You: 6464658 worse than Princess Die. Its a cute song, but the lyrcis are nothing great
7. Swine: very surprised with it! I like it a lot!
The problem is that even if I like the songs, I was expecting something way better...or maybe different. This is more POPART than ARTPOP. I just want Gaga to stop "trying" tobe iconic and memorable and just focus on her music. I still love her and her music, its just that I would love to be surprised but I cant be if she overhypes everything she does

Minttulatte 13th September 2013 01:13 PM

^I love Jewels & Drugs too, so you're not the only one. :)

Oh yeah, I watched iTunes Festival few days ago. I loved every song except Swine. That song was way too weird for me, but maybe studio version will be better then. Others were pure gold, so I'm more excited for ARTPOP than I was before♥

Dream 17th September 2013 08:03 PM

Aura is nothing like Judas or Bad Romance though
I loved every song so far so I'm really not disappointed musically, but I do wish the VMA and GMA performances had better production, I'm tired of the messy wig/outfit changes.

Also, according to rumors, she'll make an announcement tonight on kissfm

No_Doubt 22nd September 2013 03:26 PM

The iTunes festival was great! Got me way more hyped for the album. I enjoyed 6 of the 8 tracks. I was kind of indifferent to Jewels & Drugs, and I Wanna Be With You sounds cheesy and awful. The rest sound awesome! Loving Aura, Sex Dreams, and Manicure especially.

I think the first problem is that your expecting WAY too much from her... she's not that good. She goes for shock value which rarely makes any sense.. She's trying to do what Madonna did in the 80's, sadly she (Gaga) just isn't trying to change anything like she (MDNA) was. It's still about the music, but it's not about the change to acceptance of some things (like sex).

Also with artpop, I think you might be missing the concept? Pop music is ART, but more so, art pop is a concept that came from the the 1950's. It was suppose to break all conventions at the time and be so different from what was considered 'fine art'. The concept itself also refers to what ld to that art, not the art itself, which you can see in Gaga's first video, lol.

Also, with the song and lyrics, it makes complete sense if you get the references, if you don't... then you should look them up. The lyrics are like what she is trully feeling about the world around her... it is refreshing to see/hear this in such a way... instead of the age old. "I never asked for this, I never wanted to be this... i just wanted to make music" crap.

The Fame y The Fame Monster are only the master of gaga. This new songs sounds so terrible. I hope the other tracks are more electronic.

koumori 30th September 2013 04:03 PM

I was listening to Gaga's discography last night and I really miss her old sound. I'm looking forward to ARTPOP, but I hope she really has moved on from the theatrics of Born This Way and is concentrating on making the music, not the art of reputation.
