Koishikute went to #1 on Recochoku and #2 on iTunes after the Music Station Super Live performance and was certified Gold for 100k+ copies sold digitally. I'd say it was her last hit.

Koishikute only got certified Gold digitally in January 2014, just like Love Me Back btw. though, when mobile and computer downloads were started to be counted together for digital sales.

Kaled : Interesting. I didn’t go that far on the figures.

I love both Ai wo Tomenaide & Koishikute.
Thanks guys for the figures, I have fuzzy memories of this period of her carreer.

Still quite surprised Avex missed the opportunity to update the single version of Ai no Uta PV.
The Kingdom version is not so great imo.

I wish the fans would pay more attention to her latest ballads, it seems that they just want "the classics" and are stuck with these, and to me the newest are still good.

If I would pick my top 5/6 ballads after JAPONESQUE (which I believe people think its her last "good" album :rolleyes ) it would be:

01 Aenaku Naru Kurainara
02 Stand by You
03 Koishikute
04 On and On
05 WALK OF MY LIFE / NEVER ENOUGH

On another note, I've been listening a lot Color the Cover. I hope angeL+monsteR sounds as fresh as CtC still sounds. Also, IT'S SO DELICIOUS should be in this album, I do believe it was recorded for it but god knows why it's not. Pink Spider is that bitch. Been that bitch still that bitch. Will forever be that bitch.

Out from Winter of Love, my fav recent ballads are Imagine, WOML and again. I especially love the last one. It’s totally my sh*t to listen to it nowadays while walking in the streets. Remind me of the PV which is one of my fav.

It’s been almost a year since the release of (re)CORD and it’s still fresh to me. The album is one of my fav from her and I consider it as her best since Bon Voyage.

Kumi was part of the rebrand of Koala Sofa Bed in Tokyo this weekend. She talked about staying at home with her son because of the covid situation, and how she was able to connect with him by playing video game, and she's playing from the old NES to Switch (a Nintendo fangirl I see haha) - https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2174547/full/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teVcFGgHlWw

That's why she's posting some pics on her IG with the new sofa.

On another news, they reported that no new infection from Covid 19 happened with those who attended the Fukuoka date of the MNI... Tour https://rhythmzone.net/koda/news/detail.php?id=1086714

It's a pity the new mini-albums have no chance to be #1. Mr Children is releasing a new album on the same day.

KarenPang 20th October 2020 01:18 PM

^ Kinda dejavu in the sense cos years ago when Black Cherry was released , it was almost the top selling studio album of the year until Mr. Children dethroned her :s

kaled kalil 21st October 2020 03:12 AM

^ Yeah. haha

Kumi will be part of the movie Zokki, an adaptation of the manga Zokki A & Zokki B. The movie is set to premier in 2021. https://www.chunichi.co.jp/article/140590/

It is directed by Yamada Takayuki, Takenaka Naoto and Saitoh Takumi, and has a cast of 18 member announced.

Kuu is shooting something today!
Maybe one of the new PVs.
She's also often recording these days, probably finishing the album.
But judging from her stories and posts she's only doing it at home - really looks like this is going to be an album made at home. :laugh

EDIT:

Yeah, a PV.
Looks really interesting!

I can see a lion with the kxxk crown in the wall, looks so cool!

She put BOO and witch hat gifs, am I the only one hoping for a halloween video? :P

Corvina 21st October 2020 05:38 PM

I think she's just referencing to the monsteR side, cause it would be a bit weird for a December album.
Looks more like a combo of cyberpunk and gothic (industrial to be specific) to me.

There's also K... Monster writte on the wall.
The lion here makes sense as Kuu talked about the lion standing for it at the Nagoya show.
And she was also hinting to rabbit for the other side.
L and R reversed.

I’m all in for it. Haven’t listened to any of the new songs so the albums will be new for me! Hoping for some badass Kuu on the monster one

I thought L and R could be related with LEFT and RIGHT... LOL hahahaha :innocent

Ayu_Love 21st October 2020 10:46 PM

I also thought it might have been 'left' and 'right', but 'lion' and 'rabbit' make so much more sense and are much better lmao. It also reminds me of the white rabbit costume she wore for one of the W FACE tour videos, and her bunny outfit at the beginning of her 2005 first things tour (as well as the blue and pink mascot outfits), so rabbits make sense since they seem to be a theme she has used throughout her career.

I also really love 'imagine', it's one of her favorite ballads of mine! Maybe it's because I had broken up with my partner of 5 years shortly before 'Bon Voyage' was released, and 'imagine' really soothed me at the time. I just think the melody is really nice as well!

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually think her ballads from recent years are some of her best. I find most of the Japanese fan favourite ones a little boring for me, to be honest, although I do like 'Moon Crying'. I tend to really like her album ballads or B-side ballads, although they also only ever get performed either once at the album tour or never, sadly. :(

kaled kalil 22nd October 2020 02:43 AM

Serving BOOM BOOM BOYS vibes. From what we can see the wig looks nice.
