Eito has basically stopped doing enka anyway. And even KAT-TUN had an enka-ish song. I think a traditionally Japanese or Chinese sounding song would be more fitting for a song that has tanabata in its title.

that's true , I miss Eito during the time when they did Enka tunes , they did had a country inspired song in PUZZLE which I REALLY like though which's the last track in disc 1 called Donna ni Hanaretetatte Soba ni Iru kara which's awesome

if NEWS were to do an enka song next , blame that on Ryo xD

yay , great to see Eito on the list *___* . I really want them to release a new Enka single now that I don't mind their crazy whack over the top tunes but their older material's class especially Osaka Rainy Blues , Naniwa Iroha Bushi & the (in)famous Sukiyanen Osaka (love the skits going on whee)

maybe Tegomass might include an Enka influenced tune in their debut album ? I don't mind it honestly , I'm quite open to it but if they start to do KAT-TUN ala RHODESIA , GOLD & BUTTERFLY or maybe even awesome flumpool's style of music then I will be running away to the other corner xD xD

Eirynne & I do know how their whole discography works since we both listened to everything (well except for the B-sides for me as I worked from Musekinin Hero onwards)

their earlier works were very Enka heavily influenced which I really loved & adored especially Osaka Rainy Blues during when Uchi was still in the group , I actually liked the version that has his vocals more than the album version on KJ1 F.T.O though .

It was only until their 3rd single Sukiyanen, Osaka/Oh! Enka/Mugendai onwards that they start to go crazy & psycho pop xD
