Yeah, it was a bit dark with her black hair. I thought about him as a bad boy XD

In the pv version cover I just want to hug him. He looks as if he was so alone!!

Looking good , yasu looking good !

http://www.acidblackcherry.com/release.html#album3

Wow this's the 1st album to have intro & interludes since BLACK LIST & Q.E.D. didn't had any of them :O

1 thing I'm not happy with 2012's tracklist is that the singles are lumped together & doesn't seem to go in synch with the new album tracks :x

Hopefully the album will sound good anyway , curious to hear the 2012 version of Shoujo no Inori III too

Yoake 21st February 2012 12:18 PM

*.* the promo pic :luv2:luv2:luv2

I find so....good night intriguing.I wonder what Kind of song it'll be. Ballad or rock song?

Do we have preview for album track usually?

yeah yasu looks really great in the promo pic <3 , kinda reminds me of the outfit he wore in CRISIS , without the black jacket x)

I'm not really sure what to expect for the album tracks but all I can say's that they're in a position to sound on par if not better than the singles :x

So far there're no preview snippets uploaded yet since it's exactly a month before 2012 drops but I keep you posted when it happens ;D

Acid Black Cherry reveals the 4th present for his anniversary project

Acid Black Cherry has finally revealed the 4th present for his 4th anniversary project, “ABC Dream CUP“!

“ABC Dream CUP” was started in March 2011 to thank fans who have supported him over the past 4 years. Last year, 3 out of the 4 presents were released, which included free Chaku-Uta download for all his singles, a free live concert for 40,000 fans, and a free download and streaming of the free concert.

The final present will be a free distribution of Acid Black Cherry’s single, “Kimi ga Iru Kara“. This is a song that was created even before his debut, and has been performed regularly during his lives. It was never released because yasu wanted this to be a special song that fans could only hear live. However, for this occasion, yasu decided to record the song and gift it to his fans from the bottom of his heart.

“Kimi ga Iru Kara” can be downloaded from both mobile and PC until July 20th at 11:59 pm. Those who download it via PC will also be able to download the jacket covers and hand-written lyrics.

Click here to download “Kimi ga Iru Kara”!

[Exclusive] JpopAsia's Interview With Acid Black Cherry

September 21st, 2011. The date is an important one for Acid Black Cherry and his fans. On this day, ABC embarked on an ambitious musical project. The singer, also the vocalist of the rock band Janne Da Arc, released the first single in a series of monthly singles, all leading up to his new album, "2012", on March 21st.

JpopAsia got a chance to speak to ABC about his latest musical work. Check out our exclusive interview below:

JPA: You’ve decided to release 5 singles in 5 months. That’s a new single every month! Why did you decide to do this?

ABC: With Acid Black Cherry reaching its 4th anniversary, I made them so the many styles of Acid Black Cherry can be heard while expressing a spectrum of 5 different types in 5 months in order to have Acid Black Cherry’s broad range of music be known.

JPA: All your singles include a cover song as the B-side track. Explain the reason why you choose the songs you cover. Do they hold some sort of special meaning to you?

ABC: I’m singing songs that I’d sing at a karaoke by myself, or songs I used to like when I was a kid. Even if they’re nostalgic melodies to me, for younger people nowadays these are songs they’ve never heard before, so I think it’d be great if I can have them know about the wonderfulness of Japanese pop songs.

JPA: Komuro Tetsuya is one of Japan’s leading producers. What was it like working with him on your single “CRISIS”?

ABC: It was because of this song (BELIEVE) that I knew about Watanabe Misato. I really loved it, and this was the first song of TK’s composition that I’ve experienced. I think things such as the key change here, is inventive. Although the arrangement was done by Mr. Komuro, I was very excited just because of that. It was difficult, but it was fun.

JPA: In your music video for “CRISIS” you wear a lot of different outfits. Which one was your favorite?

ABC: Otaku. Although it’s likely some people didn’t notice it because it only showed up in a flash.

JPA: “Chou” and “Black Cherry” are both written from a female’s perspective. Why did you decide to do this?

ABC: When I write lyrics from the female perspective, I think depending on what you do with the female perspective, a short phrase…let’s say if the phrase is “The lip that was bitten on”, it becomes more sensual.
Although it’ll be more sensual and lascivious, but also in a way it'll become non-cliché. If a man says it, won’t it become lewd for real? (laugh) Surely, I think there are refined eroticism and vulgar eroticism. Just depends on which way you go about it.

JPA: On December 10th, you let the first 40,000 people download your summer concert at Fuji Q Highland Conifer Forest. All 40,000 downloads were used in less than 24 hours. Were you surprised by the response?

ABC: YES I DID!
I was thinking I should’ve made it 80,000 downloads (laugh).
Well, it was 40,000 because it’s the 4th anniversary this year.

JPA: ABC is going on its first national tour in 2 years starting in May. How do you feel about going on such a big tour again?

ABC: I’m excited as if I’m going on a school trip.

JPA: Besides the release of your new album and your nationwide tour, what other plans do you have for 2012?

ABC: I want to make it a year where [I’d feel like] I’ve done lives, because more so than before, I want to play lives this year.

JPA: Your 15th single “Yes” is a coupling track to a song you wrote 10 years ago titled “Stop it love [Recreation Track]”. Why did you decide to go back to this song and write a coupling track for it?

ABC: During the period when “GAIA” (Janne Da Arc’s 3rd album, released in 2001 January) was being made, it was a song that was born from a radio show project where we would provide a song for a variety idol. I guess it was perhaps only played on the radio once. Since the staffs took a liking to it, this time it felt like it finally saw the light of day. Since most fans don’t know about it, I think it’d be great if it can become a good present.

JPA: You have 2 songs titled “Shoujo no Inori” and “Shoujo no Inori III”. Why did you skip from the original to the 3rd? What happened to “Shoujo no Inori II”? The lyrics to “Shoujo no Inori” and “Shoujo no Inori III” are quite sad and shocking. What was the inspiration behind those songs?

ABC: At first, I didn’t have the intention to write a continuation. When I wrote the lyrics to be used for the single, I was notified of the passing away of someone I’ve acquainted with since childhood days. There were too many coincidental overlaps with the lyric’s content and I became unable to continue writing it. I thought it shouldn’t be used at that time, and rewrote it. That’s why there wasn’t a II.

However, it’s also a fact I can’t get that reality out of my head no matter what. I don’t want only that point to be exaggerated, but if I don’t talk about it, I can’t explain why I decided to do a sequel.

I knew that girl since she was a young girl, and [she] was connected to “Shoujo no Inori” (translation: “The prayer of a young girl”). The lyrics are entirely fiction. The main character is the same as the one in “Shoujo no Inori”, although time has passed since then, she stayed as a “young girl”.
I think the reason for wanting to die varies by the person. Even if it’s something others think “Just because of something like that?”, it might be extremely heavy to the person themselves. Regarding that, rather than saying “You shouldn’t die”, I wanted to express “As long as you’re alive”.

JPA: Do you have a message for all your international fans?

ABC: Although I don’t feel much sense of reality about whether I really have overseas fans since it’s not like I’m selling CDs overseas if I’ve never done lives overseas; but I think it’d be great if I can have a world tour soon, so if you have even a bit of interest, please listen to Acid Black Cherry.

A PV has been made for Kimi ga Iru Kara =D

the PV is nothing fancy since it's basically montage snippets from all over in stringing a PV for it but wouldn't lie that Kimi ga Iru Kara is still a great song

this should have been included in 2012 ;_;

KarenPang 20th March 2012 09:09 AM

KarenPang 20th March 2012 04:43 PM

ok I gave 2012's album tracks a listen & I have to say , I really love if not adore them so much more than BLACK LIST if not Q.E.D. :love

The 1st few album tracks so far are not very memorable to me but the other tracks such as Yubiwa Monogatari , Sonohi ga Kuru made & so … Good night. are fabulous :D

I'm still wishing yasu would have sneaked in Kimi ga Iru Kara as a hidden track , that will be awesome xD

anyway my copy of 2012 has been shipped from HMV Japan , I so can't wait to receive it later this week :love

KarenPang 21st March 2012 11:41 AM

omg this's so amazing , 2012 has been #1 for the past 2 days straight , I'm so surprised if not very happy for yasu :D

1->1

http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/ja/d/2012-03-20/

as far as I know , he never has a #1 album yet but could this be the 1st time he will be getting for 2012 ? only time will find out & if so , I really think 2012 deserves to get it as musically it's so much more diverse than BLACK LIST & Q.E.D.

yasu's thoughts & feelings about 2012

Acid Black Cherry 3rd Album [2012]

The album theme this time is, “to live”.

Well then, why is it [2012]?

This album is made up of stories with these 3 keywords as the axle,

[Present time]
[Prophecy of the Mayan Calendar]
[Doomsday clock]

First is [Present time]---

This of course, refers to this year being 2012.

Next is [Prophecy of the Mayan Calendar]---

It's been said that “the world will end” along with the end of the calendar used by the Mayan civilization which will be ending on 2012 December 22nd.

Then lastly is [Doomsday clock]---

The [Doomsday clock] changes according to world affairs.

In January this year, that needle of the [Doomsday clock] advanced by 1 minute, the news was spread around of it being pointed at “5 more minutes” until the end of the world.

So here once again, I want to formally convey the theme of this album again.

The theme of the album this time is, “to live”.

If the whole album titled [2012] is a metaphor of “the world that’s ending”, then the tracks it contain within it, are stories of “people who live in that world”.

All respective protagonists have dire ordeals befall them, and are desperately struggling through the hardships.

Such state will, perhaps be seen as uncool.

Perhaps it’ll be seen as very pitiful.

But, none of the protagonists who show up in the lyrics gave up on living.

Precisely because they didn’t give up on living, they desperately struggle to search with all their might, for their own “meaning to live”.

Then, one day, they will find out there is light beyond that point.

This album is by no means, something that sang of “the end of the world”.

Even when given an ordeal to the extent equal to the end of the world, “don’t give up on living”.

This very thing is the biggest message of [2012].

I’m happy if you can feel it even if just a little.

The doomsday clock which pointed to the remaining 5 minutes.

2+0+1+2 = 5.

I want to change this “5” into a “5” of hope, so there are 5 prayers included within the stories.

3 prayers of the young girl,
1 prayer of an angel
Prayers around the world as 1

I wish that the thoughts, and prayers, of all those people will become one someday.

It’s tough to live.

“But hey…by being alive, the future will surely change”

This has been the unchanging belief that Acid Black Cherry continues to sing of since the very beginning. Things that can only be done now.

Things that can’t be done unless it’s now.

Things that can be done because you’re living the present.

The meaning of the title [2012], lies there.

Someday, in the far off future when the current “year of 2012” will become the past, when you listen to [2012] again, I think it’d be good if there will be a scene where you will be recounting “2012 was such a year, huh” with a smile. After all, the world continued on without ending at that time, because everyone living with a smile in that future, is the very evidence [of that].

An album filled with such message from yasu.

We wholeheartedly want this [2012] to reach everyone.

Believe in the future where you exist--.

~TEAM ABC
