I thought her vocals were pretty good on Seasons. At least heaps better than Song 4 U. Maybe I'll think otherwise after seeing the HD version, but for now... She did great, imo. :)
|
just seasons?
during all the down time I thought I read somewhere that she was on 3 times? |
Nana Mizuki was on three times for some reason. Ayumi...only once afaik. Still downloading the show though. 30GB D:

I think one performance is enough for her ear, she shouldnt push herself too hard. I think that could be one of the reasons why she doesnt perform that much on TV now. Its better for her to perform on her own shows, where sho controls the sound and has her own tecnicians. TV shows require rehearsals, sound checks etc which are scheduled by the TV channels. Her ear needs rest

^
I agree ! |
Yeah, the vocals were uh, not so good. Her voice didnt sound warmed up, which doesn't make sense considering she had 4 hours of waiting around time. :shrug
|
Hrmmm, maybe that's why she doesn't really do well at TV lives?
She tends to have to wait a long time before starting to sing (MUSIC STATION and so on... perhaps ESPECIALLY this because she was probably sitting in the corner for 4 hours) so there may not be time to warm up properly. I always wondered why her vocals were so shaky (back then) at TV lives and perhaps that's why. |
I don't think it has anything to do with her ear. She had sound wired to the "deaf" ear lastnight. The ringing she had before may have been tinnitus like some reports said and that is curable now. I think too many fan opinions get based on thinking she's deaf in one and losing the other, when if she's got sound wired to the one said to be deaf there's obviously some info you are missing.
|
well, she isnt the strongest vocalist in world and she usually takes about 2 songs to find her voice, so its only a given that the only song she performs will be about off.
|
You can tell she dreads her TV lives nowadays. I feel like it's primarily nerves or something... She always seems stiff and uncomfortable, unlike when she's performing on tour.
|
^Yeah, I have noticed that too. I think she is nervous about her voice and the getting nervous is just making it worse.

kinda off topic, but I cant wait to watch Nana Mizuki live... it will be my first time...
hehe, im kinda more excited to see her than Ayumi, lol. |
OT but Nana Mizuki is amazing live. Sometimes even better than the studio recordings.
|
I'm not sure if I'm agreeing to this SEASONS matter... I don't understand why she would not sing one of her new songs, instead singing a song 12 years old...
|
though very delighted to see ayu performed live on tv, yet she has ruined the song completely - seasons - I don't think there's any excuses on why she sounded so awful, even if she could no longer sing like during the - seasons - era, even with her current vocal style, it was like she was unprepared, pitchy, shaky and couldn't handle the song at all in anyway. She has more than enough experience to curb her nervous and moreover she has sang - seasons - so many times before be it tv lives, or even during tours. reasons for being tired and all? i doubt so, which performer is not tired and they have far more hectic tv lives and own tours than ayu i supposed this year?
|
just have this feeling that ayu doesn't even want to be there at any TV live performances... its like "i want to just release albums and do tours, some commercial endorsements if any.. i'm done... after 15th anniversary, that's it..."
|
from all her lives I watch (for tv programs like MS, Heyx3, stuff like that) it always seemed like she had a better place to be.
At the concert shows she seems to have such a great time, but these its like a job (which is funny, because it is) |
