The video was recorded for some sort of a 4D technology, so it's not as cheap as everybody is saying... If someone could translate, it would be great! And also, Walk Of My Life will be the ending song for the serie Arrow, in Japan.

I'm laughing so hard right now about the cheap comments! xD
It seems avex really spend some money on the album with DITR and now WOML. And both songs and videos have the same theme.
Yay for tie in! (Though Arrow, really? xD)

Rewatching the PV, I really love that floating scenes! :heart
And the ones with lots of Kuus... beautiful done.

Didn't like the video, still adore the song though. Also, when she takes that black scarf thing off.....her hair is.....what kind of hairstylist would style it like that.....

The hairdo from the music video doesn't seems that bad. haha

i agree on the floating scenes!!i loved them as well.. . the mv as a whole didn't feel complete. it was like no man's land part 2/ Namie's let me let you go. but overall not so bad.:D

BlackSilence 27th February 2015 10:23 PM

You know the PV wasn't bad at all the only thing that ticked me was her lipsynching and floating in the eair with.....high heels lol

The video itself has a clear idea in my eyes. And is quite well excecuted. The city that she's walking through is busy and full of pressures and stress and worries and superficial forces that make you totally forget about yourself. It's a symbol for control and caging of oneself. While the beach that she's shown in afterwards has nothing but nature there. No people, no signs, no rules, nothing. Complitelly empty and clean space. Clear of superficial forces that locks you in withing the world of today's lifestyle. Ocean itself is often depicted as a symbol of freedom, of breaking through as someone's inner subconciousness and nature, the true self. It might mean that she's finally able to connect with herself, her TRUE self and that's what makes her free.
The scene full of Kuu clones of different versions of her being all covered up with scarfs makes me think of those different versions we create of themselves to please people and to fit standarts that eventually you have so many of them that you cannot find the actual you, while they all are still YOU in a way. The part where they all kneel down is like a sign that she is finally getting deep enough into herself to pic them all out one by one while eventually only one is left standing and Kuu finally reveals herself as if stating "This is the actual me and i don't need all the other ones anymore" so they all vanish and she's left standing alone where they show her with her arms out and they swich to the beach scene with a broken bridge to the ocean. Which i think tells that she's finally found her true self and is ready to explore her mind and feelings when you see her running towards it dressed in white as if it says that she's finally clean off all the polution that the outside world brought onto her and that there's nothing else obscuring the true feelings and thoughts that she found. That she's finally whole.
Her floating parts might be something like a methaphor of her subconciousness, the actual, clear and true essence of oneself being separated (hence why she's floating in the air in the city while they show her walking around dressed in stiff black clothing)making you into a thinking human shell that has to follow rules, standarts and preasures from other people. It's like as soon as you close the door of your home you leave your actual self, that essence that makes you, YOU that is pure and clean bechind that door. And become who the world tells you to be.

Or it might be just a pretty visual video that i've read into too much lol But i mean it fits the lyrics at this point. The imagery. But yeah, don't mind me I just really love the song and the video kinda gives more to it.

Corvina 27th February 2015 10:34 PM

Oh my, arctika, that's a long ass post I totally enjoyed to read! :laugh
And you was first, cause I actually wanted to interpret the symbolysm in the Pv myself later.

I agree with your interpretation overall, but let me add something.
When she's walking in the city she's wearing the exact same outfit she has on the album covers. So it's actual referring to her own carrer and her image as Koda Kumi she portrays as the singer. The song and the PV are about her own carrer and about not losing yourself or better find your true self. Kuu actually said that she cried recording it.
Also those little snippets about confusing street signs, an traffic light going green and a picture about "your own life" adds perfectly to it.
And yeah, it totally fits the lyrics.

BlackSilence 27th February 2015 10:44 PM

^lol i don't do sh.. like that but i felt like doing this this time cuz it's quite visual and symbolic which isn't very usual for her. Well, what you mentioned is right yes, i just didn't get that detailed, and was also speaking more in general, since a simple human being as us can relate to that aspect more but it all fits well anyway, i just went with a more broad theme, but while i wasn't having specifically her carreer in my head it did cross my mind like she has millions of people who have different views of her and expectations , thousands she meets hence a gazzilion of same dresssed different Kuus in a PV.

On an other note now when you mentioned the signs in the city, the city itself might be taken as the "life" she's in and the beach as her "mind" and the floating as an "in between" when she finally settles down within her subconciousness, the "making music" (main thing from her life)= piano, becomes a part of her "mind"- "the beach" hence that's what is her true self.

Loved the video and reading the interpretations. I think a lot of thought and effort went into it.

If you guys want cheap, I would refer you to the Poppin' Love Cocktail PV, or, for an example from another artist, Leliololol (or whatever the fuck its called).

SKYia 27th February 2015 11:33 PM

I just saw the PV, my first thought is "chaotic" and "expensive mixed with cheap".

There are those beautiful shots with some high end camera mixed with very low quality computer graphics from blue screen and some good ideas executed not that nicely.

I like the idea with lots of Kuus with their head covered, quite awesome and it's nice that they didn't move in the same way (not a copy/paste of one another), reminded me of Silent Hill nurses, but the shots were painfully long and out of place.

I would say I love her hair when she takes the scarf off her head (actually just the top parts of it) but is her hair cut longer on one side or did it just look that way? It would be nice if it was all clipped on her haid. How can she pull something like this after the gorgeous hair from Dance in the rain??

Her walking shots are really shot in US or is it blue screen? I'm not sure but looked fake to me. The floating Kuu shots were really pretty, I'd love more of those but they seemed a bit out of place.

Btw, is it the same bridge / place where Ayu shot Pride or just similar? I thought about Ayu when I saw it.

I have mixed feelings, but I love the song itself.

thinkingoutloud89 28th February 2015 12:19 AM

love it. nothing more to say. I relistend to Bon Voyage (do you know that urge to listen to a certain artist when a new album is coming out?) and it is not as bad as I rememberd it to be. well, i actually never thought it was bad I just can't put my finger on what exactly annoys me...maybe I haven't been in the mood for fast and loud since then and thats basically what most of the album is. I can't wait for this album though.

kaled kalil 28th February 2015 02:40 AM

I just want to say that I'm loving the direction that she's going with this album. The PVs are getting better, lyrics are getting more personal and not just about love (which is personal too, but you understand what I'm saying). This might be my favorite album from her, and I hope so!

And we'll get Like It soon! Can't wait. I still haven't listen to WOML (I watched without the sound, I wanna wait the album).

Edit- Btw, nice interpretation to both of you artcika and corvina. I saw the music video the same way of you guys, and it's so good to see Kumi having PVs with more meaning behind!

Diva_br 28th February 2015 06:50 PM

Well, after reading the two interpretations, I understand better the video. But still dislike me. The scenes of the sea and the thousands of dementors Kumis are very nice, but apart from these, I don't find something that catches me or like me totally.

I hope "Like It" I like better.
