Fullmetal Alchemist to get a live-action film adaptation starring Yamada Ryosuke

JUMP member Yamada Ryosuke (as Edward Elric), Dean Fujioka (as Roy Mustang), Honda Tsubasa (as Winry Rockbell), Oizumi Yo (as Shou Tucker), Renbutsu Misako (as Riza Hawkeye), Natsuna (as Maria Ross), Sato Ryuta (as Maes Hughes), Harada Natsuki (as Gracia Hughes), Kohinata Fumiyo (as General Hakuro), Ishimaru Kenjiro (as Father Cornello), Matsuyuki Yasuko (as Lust), Hongo Kanata (as Envy), and Uchiyama Shinji (as Gluttony).

No details on Alphonse Elric, who appears in a giant suit of armour, have been revealed at this moment, but the director gave a hint that he's sure the fans would be satisfied with Alphonse.

The shooting will start in June in Italy, and it will also take place in Japan. They are aiming to finish filming it in the end of August, and it will open in theatres in winter of 2017.

Tadanobu Asano, Yamada Ryosuke’s co-star in Grasshopper, took home the Best Actor award that night for his work in Journey to the Shore film (2015) .

During his acceptance speech, he responded to Yamada’s speech.

"Thank you for Yamada-kun. Please take care of me from now on too.”

That concludes Tadanobu Asano’s support for Yamada Ryosuke’s movie career.

There has been so many negative comments on Yamada taking the lead in the upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist live action movie. Sometimes it’s just sad that most of the hate may come from him being an idol and the stereotypes of Johnny’s idols that seems to be a stigma among most people. But tonight, Yamada Ryosuke might have proven them wrong. For those who keeps doubting his acting, please consider that the movie critics & an award winning senior actor, Tadanobu Asano, have acknowledged his ability.

All I can say is please Yamada , prove people wrong when the live action of Fullmetal Alchemist hits cinemas next year because when this news was announced , the amount of negative remarks that flooded the internet was and is still madness in a not very good way

IMO he's a good actor (and very very good-looking *cough cough*) so I hope he can prove them wrong

Yamada will be the producer of JUMP's upcoming concert. He designed the tracklist, the stage, the outfits and he says this concert will not "stink of Yamada" (LOL)
