Don't really like the new album...
The only songs I like are LAZER, EASY and Possibility. The rest is kinda boring imo... =/

^^ The problem is not of album worth. It's not that very bad. I think there aren't songs which catch our attention so much like in previous albums. They'll be forgotten soon. She is in good music genre (pop-r&b + jazzy sounds), but... only eien was well received if I'm right. It's like we expect more from her.

Well I don't think this album is pretty bad. The single tracks are great but the a-sides are very weak. I enjoyed to hear BoA tryin' to do a new sound and not only those pop songs which I was sick of listening.
Also, for me this album is better than her previous one THE FACE.
I think IDENTITY is an okay album ^^
My favorite track is The end album version *o*!!
The wakest track is EASY T-T'

So the album is finally out!!! :) Let's see...

01. This Is Who I Am is mature, yet not good opening. I think some more cheerful song should fit better, or at least the prelude with better musical production.
02. EASY is cool & catchy.
03. BUMP BUMP! feat. VERBAL (m-flo) started growing on me, but I still don't like the jazzy sound in it.
04. LAZER I like the beat, yet the whole song is weak.
05. interlude#1 is ridiculous.
06. is this love has the sweetest refren, too bad the whole song can't keep my attention, but I think I will like it ; )
07. まもりたい ~White Wishes~ is probably the best pop song on this album, it reminds of her earlier works, nice...
08. interlude#2 is ridiculous.
09. ネコラブ is boring.
10. THE END Soshite and... (album ver.) (THE END そして and...) is too long. I enjoy the piano at the beginning though.
11. Possibility duet with 三浦大知 is nice.
12. fallin' I don't like it.
13. my all is boring.

Well this is my opinion after listening to the whole album :) I can't say that I don't like it at all because it has some nice songs, but the production is very weak and disappointing. It's not even a bit close to what VALENTI is, and I believe that artists even when they change their style should be better, and not becoming boring like this. My fav songs are Mamoritai, EASY and is this love.

The interludes are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! D:

I listened to it...not very good. I don't like the majority of the album, just maybe one or two songs. The interludes were unecessary...overall, I didn't like it. I don't think it'll get in the top 5, maybe 7 or 8 at the most. I just wish it were more like THE FACE :(.

This isn't even going to be like when Ayu lost her streak and got #2...this is going to be a total flop and the final stake that puts her Japanese career down for a good while...

But I thought the preorder sales were above 150,000 copies...
Won't that put her at #1 weekly?
Who else is really competing with her with that kind of buzz?
She's been out of the music industry in Japan for...two years? MM~WW~ was successful also, so I wouldn't count the album out yet.

Well Kaela Kimura is #1 right now and Kumi is #2 on the album charts.

^ But Koda got #1 on weekly charts and that's enough for me :)

There's a best album by FUnky Monkey or something. Kuu's album+best and Kaela's best album from last week. Those are her competition.

The last time I saw that 150,000 was at Wiki and that's not always reliable.

Uh if you're getting that 150,000 number from wikipedia, let's all be reminded that wikipedia can be edited by anyone and anyone can go make that number up (they did not even cite avex's announcement). And even if Avex was the one who came up with that # that's probably how much they have ready to ship. When in the past have you heard avex tell how much an artist has sold in preorders @________@. They might as well have declared Koda Kumi the winner against Kaela the day the album was released then. And she's competing with FUNKY MONKEY BABYS, who not only placed #1 in Ninki index but are also releasing their first Best album.

That tells me that at most she will rank #4.

They did it once with Namie. To impress.

And....I'm sure she was impressive. I don't think that applies to Identity....
