"Finally" is an all-time best album featuring re-recordings of early songs to the most recent songs by Namie Amuro, someone who has given us countless smiles, emotions and courage since her 1992 debut. I wonder if despite her retirement avex can still release some stuff related to her like a b-side compilation or a tribute album. I'd love to see both happening, but I have no idea if that's even possible now :(

thinkingoutloud89 3rd December 2018 05:37 PM

^depends on who bought the rights. There was this dispute behind the scene nobody knows the details of. I personally would say she does not want it and she probably asked them not to. On the other hand: if they have the rights, they will do it for the money (although out of Japanese respect they could also decide not to and just give them free for covers and compilations).

Since Dimension Point owns the rights which is label of Namie Amuro, I don't think avex itself can release anything. Maybe tribute album would be possible, but definitely not b-side compilation, remix album, another best of. I wouldn't hope for that.

Yes! I love this song so much. My favorite from her early days.

tokyoxjapanxfan 4th December 2018 09:12 AM

I thought the reason she had to remake songs for finally was because of this?
And if that were the case, she would only own the rights to the newly recorded ones?

Maybe I completely misread something along the lines haha.

Gustavopc 4th December 2018 04:51 PM

^ As far as I remember that was a rumour/theory fans came up with because even recent songs were re-recorded, but I don't think it was ever confirmed. But it does make sense, I don't doubt it.

I didn't buy a copy of Finally yet because I keep waiting for an all time best collection of the original recordings. I'm sure we will get one from avex eventually.

That show sounds very interesting! It'd be great if it was subbed.

Namie topped both the "Hot 100 Albums" chart and the "Top Selling Albums" chart for the 2nd consecutive year! She is the first artist to have achieved this on Billboard Japan.

She also ranked 6th in the list of top artists of the year, despite having not released any new music :)
This ranking was based on a variety of things, such as streaming, radio play, downloads, YouTube views, etc.

I received the archive book today! It's way heavier than I thought it would be, now I just need to figure out where I'm going to put it as its taller than my shelves lol

Both good songs. Go!Go! Is probably my favorite. But Paradise Train is an unexpected discovery, I love both the Original Tracks and Dance Tracks version.

Did anyone know there was a ~We <3 Namie~ Tour happening? :shakehead It was called AMR tour and tonight was the final at Studio Coast in Tokyo. It had a performer portrayal of Namie and dancers Ayami, Cocoro, Hossy, Keisuke, Risa, Shikino, Tadashi, and Yusuke were special guests.

^ Yeah I had known about the event since last month from the promo on her dancers iGs. Pretty cool event, most of the NFAM was there. Not sure but it doesn't seem like they are moving on to a new full-time gig, moving to other singer's dance teams and stuff, they just do workshops and Namie-related legacy events like these. I think its pretty cool the bond they share with each other and Namie. And it looks like the event was at ageHa? Its cool if they hosted the event, ageHa usually caters more to a teenage club crowd, like EDM music and stuff. A lot of the Amuraas also attended, they've posted stories and posts from the party. What is AMR though? Curious because the event was called AMR Tour Final 2018.

Xianghua 9th December 2018 07:37 AM

I think AMR might be the name of the group acting as Namie.
These 3 ladies front center in the group pic. I just don't know who they are.

At first I thought AMR sounded like the name of something virtual reality related, lol.

And yes, it's nice seeing the dancers doing Namie related things. Also cute they're called NFAM ^^

inthezone 14th December 2018 03:04 AM

EndOfTheWorld 14th December 2018 04:00 AM
