If you guys look at the oricon charts recently, it's starting to make me really wonder at the no.1 for MW. Shuchishin's new single's 1st week release is better than MW's combined sales and their previous single is back in the top 10. Be thankful for small mercies.
MW's #1 isn't surprising at all since the sudden promotion and gifting (in ayu's tour too) avex gave this single in the middle of the first week was huge and the sales got higher almost like the first day sales.

If it wouldn't happen then it would be surprising.

I'm glad she got the no.1 and i think she deserves it more than SCS and i agree, the cover is sooo pretty. It's just that the selling power of boybands like arashi and SCS makes me a little jealous for our ayu. My friend said it's because boyband fans are mostly young girls who don't have enough money to buy albums which are very expensive in japan so they buy the singles but still, i wish ayu's singles sold better.

FREAKY did very well by its own merit. Just saying that A-sides, B-sides, couplings whichever it's called, it had 4 new songs whereas MW has 1 semi-new song, 1 new song and 1 remixed song albeit a different one for 2 versions. If MW had 4 new songs i would expect it to chart at least 250k copies. Speaking of which, has it stopped charting?

Sales: 646
Total Sales: 192,410

Charted another week and sold better than last week!

FREAKY got 4 versions btw, CD, CD first press, CD+DVD, CD+DVD first press.
Mirrorcle World just got 2 more.

Well Mirrorcle World is more successful than FREAKY if comparing profits I suppose.. I'm sure avex gained more profit (because of price the and multiple vers. and mainly getting outside promotion).

Haha thanks! That's good news! Actually i've been wondering about the first-press thing for a long while now. At first, i thought it's avex that's not catching on to it but if freaky had it, why doesn't ayu's releases? E.g. kinki dome dvd had a limited edition and normal edition but ayu's never had something like that. And i don't think a long slipcase really counts because the cover and content is the same.

Because they are very generous people (:innocent) I would HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE if Ayu DVDs were released "limited" and that one had great content that wasn't available on the "standard" edition. I dunno I just don't think that's fair. It's bad enough some people don't get to see her live at all, but then excluding people further content-wise? :o Lame.

Though they'll probably do something like that with AT08 since it's her anniversary and all :\

Lol! You got a really good point. The way i see it, people are doing it with 3 different methods. Yoshiki method: Release the normal ones first then come up with extra special limited edition. JE method: Add one more song in the normal edition so fans are compelled to buy both. Conventional method: Just use different covers.

Since the first two methods may bother you (it bothers me ALOT), Ayu could do the third one. Then hardcore fans would be rushing to buy the first cover edition and they would buy an extra normal edition whereas casual fans will just buy whichever edition they can get. Boost sales!!

FREAKY CD+DVD first press - 4 songs & 4 remixes
FREAKY CD only first press - 4 songs & 4 instrumentals.
There just weren't 4 different covers, just 2 because there was 1 cd, 1 cd+dvd and each had a first press (cd & cd+dvd).

The CD-only had the instrumentals and that was it, there was just one version.
