I'm glad I can say that I downloaded her debut when it came out, I wish I could say I got into here then, but it took me a few more months XD

I bet you she'll perform RED CLIFF

Akutenshi 6th October 2008 01:13 AM

I got into her right before the release of Ashita e no Sanka, when I saw the PV for it. I lost interest in her right around the time she released Natsukashii Mirai, because I felt that song was lacking, but over time, I started to love it, and she picked me right back up with Sora Uta. :heart

GRACE 6th October 2008 01:15 AM

I downloaded Ashita e no Sanka, and I think I listened to it like once, and then I put alan out of my mind (but not out of my iPod, for some reason) until Natsukashii Mirai

red cliff japanese version live! and song from water single!

I originally was a super huge fan of Stephanie. Then I heard Ashita e no Sanka and I figured that if Stephanie ever faded away I could become a super huge fan of alan. But after Natsukashii Mirai ~longing future~, I fell in love and liked her more than Stephanie.

But if she ever when she becomes famous, it'll be the first artist I've followed since their debut that made it big :D. I hope in 10 years I'll be remembering when she first debuted.

GRACE 6th October 2008 01:30 AM

^I hope I will too! I'll love to watch and see new alan fans coming on in and be able to say, "I've been here since her debut"

pommy48 6th October 2008 01:32 AM

lol~ and btw...we're going to be oldies when alan is so popular, and alan-world is crowded~ we'll be the senior members
Spoiler:

:lech hope spam continues!":lech

Yeah, I remember when Stephanie came out, and everyone was comparing them because they were both foreigners with strong voices. While Stephanie already hit her peak and is now declining in popularity, alan's keeps on growing.

GRACE 6th October 2008 01:36 AM

I just hope that RED CLIFF isn't alan's peak.

Akutenshi 6th October 2008 01:40 AM

It might be, but it definitely won't if Avex continues to market her more after this single. She needs a few more singles with big tie-ins before she can establish herself on name alone. Just one (potentially) big single won't be enough.

pommy48 6th October 2008 01:41 AM

let's just hope that avex have a marketing plan for the singles after the album, i mean...they can't depend on a mega asian war movie every time, but what i want is for alan to have a lot more live performances, looking at ayu...for ASFXX..there's so much live performances of the songs~

Aozora 6th October 2008 01:42 AM

I just hope that alan doesn't just release her album and then disappear (like Stephanie).

pommy48 6th October 2008 01:45 AM

...well avex seems to be putting a lot of work into alan...and if she really can't do it..she can always just focus on the chinese industry

GRACE 6th October 2008 01:51 AM

They're putting way too much into her learning Japanese to let her just go off to China...

Akutenshi 6th October 2008 01:51 AM

Avex are putting work into her music and photoshoots, but they really aren't putting much into her promotion, and I think that's where her popularity loses its potential. If she had more promotion given to her, she could be a LOT bigger than she is.

Aozora 6th October 2008 01:53 AM

Well the Kouhaku is a good sign because it shows that they don't plan on forgetting about her xD.

Avex has done stupid things in the past though :x.

GRACE 6th October 2008 01:54 AM

I remember reading somewhere "Put her into Chinese music, and she'll be one of the faces in the crowd, put her in Japan, she'll stand out."

I think they see potential goldmine that is RED CLIFF, and maybe they yanked Sora Uta and Kaze no Tegami's promo budgets and added them to RED CLIFFs? And Sora Uta and Kaze no Tegami did REALLY well considering they had NO promo. Imagine what she could do with promo

pommy48 6th October 2008 01:54 AM

promo makes all the difference~ and i mean if she really just can't deal with the japanese audience~ there's always avex china too
well she does stand out in japan, cause you don't really get someone with styles like her~ but in china, it might be hard, cause everyone already have their old faves, so not a lot of newcomers can come and keep on succeeding, some just disappear after their first album
and alan is doing a good job with her sales now, she's singing great songs, she had a great tie-in, now the thing that's left is for avex to decide what's their marketing strategy for her, and also for more promotion, no one will be successful without at least some promotion

Aozora 6th October 2008 02:00 AM

At least they already released Megumi no Ame covers xD. If they're smart they'll put a lot of promotion into Megumi no Ame and her album that way she does well three times in a row and people won't forget her.

GRACE 6th October 2008 02:01 AM

They released the Kaze no Tegami covers early too, but it didn't equal anything =/... I'm not getting my hopes up for Megumi no Ame, but the album I think they'll definately promote
