It's already selling more than any non-best of album has from a female in a quite a while. It's also beating Plays sales and she usually stays on the chart a long time. The sales aren't astronomical, but they are definitely very good.

I really wish she would do some tv performances though; some of these songs could have great setups.

i only like the 1st four song and after my playlist finish playing the 1st 4 song,i'll skip it to other songs :P
but i really like the whole packaging look like.very nice.

I don't really like any of the songs except COPY THAT, and I only like it because it reminds me of the 60's...or 70's or something.


Why isn't she doing any TV performances? Didn't she do a bunch for 60s70s80s?

^ Not really. She did a few last year but not as much as previous years. This year she hasn't even done 1 tv performance.

I think her sales would be much higher if there was more promotion and more hype from marketing...

Not that they arent great or anything...but I wish they'd put as much strategy into selling her albums as they do for some other artists.

I don't really like the whole album very much. I only like COPY THAT, WILD, Dr., and Defend Love. But even COPY THAT is almost two minutes too long... x___x It's definitely not as good as PLAY or STYLE for me~

i feel that by namie having an album titled "past < future", it comes off as being a little ungrateful of her own past. i mean, the reason that she is who she is now is because of the music she released in the past. whether or not she has any grudges with that should be kept personal. honestly i kind of felt like it was a slap in the face for fans of her older music. it's one thing for other fans to have opinions on an artist's music, but when an artist comes out and says "yeah, this stuff is better than anything i've released prior"--it's kind of like...i don't know. not nice. haha.

granted it could just be 100% superficial reasons and literally just be a title, i tend to read into things. plus with the whole ripping her own picture thing, it's kind of like "i'm done with the past"--which yeah, can be a good thing--but i mean, ripping up the picture of an album that sold over 1 million copies is just a tad bit unappreciative for my taste. :-\


again, my reading into things may not have anything to do with the cover and title, but that's how I see it. not expecting anyone to agree with me haha.

I think it's sort of not a good move for her to do, since it can be taken as "unappreciative"...

but she probably just thought, it's a new direction from my past music, and I just had the best album, and it's the first "new" album after that...etc.

or maybe she doesn't care at all about her past music and thinks this is totally new...to which I would reply..."damn your debut album sucks." lol

imo anyway :P

what is the defination of her past? after reading your post, i can guess its TK :laugh maybe she really doesnt like what he did last time (the fraud etc) and she just hinting that "oh thx god i have left him now" or maybe "i dont need the songs from the past (TK work), i have already made much better music for my fans" if thats true, it will be totally hilarious for namie. just a guess though :dead2

it was horrible if she thought like you ^^
IMO her past song by TK are really good for single track. the other is just like complement song
