Yeah, the panel room was kinda empty, and I felt bad for her. I should have asked you guys for a list of questions for me to ask you on your behalf!

I was about the 11th person in line for her autograph after her panel, and there wasn't very many people in line. But she was super excited that I had brought Lovebox for her to sign. :) The two people in front of me had her sign the program guide, so she was like, "OMG, you have the album!" She was very nice to me and asked for my name to personalize the autograph.

In regards to the no photo thing - that is very very common. I was disappointed, but I expected it.

No, I only have Lovebox. I thought about buying Bitter & Sweet from one of the vendors at the convention, but it was very expensive D: I get it eventually, though. :)

but at least you were able to make her happy of sorts because from that fan report I read , the words that he/she wrote doesn't look & sound good in BENI's favour but at least by hearing another side of the story (which's yours) , it doesn't look that bad & I think it's normal to feel that way :)

Even if the crowd is creepy and far beyond your usual crowd, you should still be able to stay professional, friendly and give it your all to TURN them into your fans. Fat nerds or happy shibuya girls, it shouldn't matter.

Having said that, I'm sure it'd be a bit hard for her to impress. She's JUST become popular in Japan. Most Western "japan fans" are about 1000 years behind on the actual developments in Japan, except for Visual Kei. (Which oftens explains their distorted visions on which bands most Japanese know. The Gazette? I think not.)

Kana Nishino, BENI, JUJU, YUI to some extent, Superfly, some of the hottest female acts in the country! I'm sure most Western fans will only know Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi though. Maybe to some extent, Nana Mizuki because she does z0mg anime.

Well I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, and BENI is an artist I really like, but she still sells a small fraction of what the "top sellers" sell. Singles that sell 2K copies and albums that make it to 50K aren't exactly impressive after all. Bitter&Sweet did pretty well, but it was still, what, 15x less than the top selling album of the year?

That's not to say she's untalented, no one likes her, blah blah, but it's just like, of course not that many people in America would know her.

you definitely wouldn't know who BENI's if you don't listen to jpop & being USA , well it's mostly dominated by English music

not everyone you know will listen to jpop to begin with

i was actually surprised BENI got asked to do the Anime Expo, tbqh. she doesn't have a huge anime fanbase, unlike you know, L'Arc~en~Ciel for example. it doesn't feel like her "crowd" too. i think you really have to know your J-pop to know who BENI is. she just re-debut, so i don't think many people know her, considering her avex career wasn't so successful either.

Awwww....I wish she would have had a more exciting autograph session.....I would have definitely seen her if I was there (I avoided the AKB48 autograph session because I knew it would be hell). Yeah....the organization in general at AX wasnt so good. Hopefully she still had fun though.

the wedding dress has an interesting design...but it's kinda too busy for a simple taste person...

the wedding dresses are beautiful but... I am pretty traditional and think that wedding dresses should be white! Still, nice job, but wtf~ I love the purple and white ones.
