TOKIO & Arashi to hijack the TV for New Year’s Eve

It’s been reported that two variety shows featuring JE groups will be broadcasted in a “relay style” for New Year’s Day. Running for five and a half hours, the two shows have been identified as “THE Ultraman DASH Kiseki no 3-pun kan wo Mokugeki seyo” and “Arashi ni Shiyagare New Year’s Day 2.5 hours special“.

For the first, it will be hosted by the members of TOKIO, who will introduce experts on difficult subjects or interests; the group members report on the experts completing unique tasks, such as getting fully-dressed while sky diving, or breaking an egg while bungee jumping. TOKIO’s special will air at 6:00 p.m to 8:54 p.m on December 31st.

Right after TOKIO’s show ends, Arashi’s “Arashi ni Shiyagare New year’s day 2.5 hours special” will air. The show is a special edition of their variety show “Arashi ni Shiyagare“. On this program, the group will welcome two sets of secret guests to the show – interestingly enough, the Arashi member will not be informed of who these special guests will be. “Arashi ni Shiyagare New Year’s Day 2.5 hour special” will air from 9:00 PM to 11:24 PM.

Although their concepts are completely different, in the beginning of each show, there will be a talk portion in which both TOKIO and Arashi members come out together.

It has been reported that the leader of the wildly popular group Arashi, Satoshi Ohno, has been spotted in New York! He is reportedly in the Big Apple celebrating his 30th birthday with pop artist Yoshitomo Nara.

Ohno, a man of many talents and interests, sat down with Nara as part of a TV project last year to discuss art. Nara is currently holding an exhibit in New York’s Asia Society Museum, titled “Nobody’s Fool”, which is where Ohno might have visited on his trip.

Yoshitomo’s official Twitter account had a series of tweets on November 28th that confirmed Ohno’s presence in New York, also mentioning his visit to the exhibit and his birthday as well.

i think it's PG (kids), PG-13 (teenage stuff), and R (adult) here. so i'm since i'm 18, i could pretty much watch any movie, i think :laugh i doubt i'll be going to see the movie anyway, since tickets are expensive (i assume it'll be more money for GANTZ since it's just a one time only screening) i don't have transportation money (for a car, bus, or train :weep) and no one would go with me because my family dislikes japanese stuff, LOL. i don't go to movies at all. last time i went was probably 7 or 8 years ago when i was younger.

Arashi member Aiba Masaki will be starring in the next Friday night drama titled, “Bartender“, which will start in January 2011.

On December 3rd, the TV spot for the drama was aired, and according to the “Bartender Staff Blog”, there will be long version premiered on December 10th while the current Friday night drama, “Himitsu”, airs its last episode.

Arashi’s Jun Matsumoto’s (27) role in a women’s mascara commercial has earned him a special Best Beauty Commercial Award at a cosmetics award ceremony in Tokyo today, reports Oricon.

Matsumoto, who became the face for KOSE’s Fasio mascara line, was recognized by the VOCE BEAUTY AWARDS 2010, who said that by using a man to advertise women’s cosmetics was like a breath of fresh air.

It has been reported that after the Johnny’s star was awarded his trophy, he talked about how he felt in the first stages of the project.

“When I first heard about the commercial, I thought they going to dress me in drag. I’m surprised, but at the same time feel very grateful.

“If they had asked me to dress in drag, I don’t think I would’ve been given this award,” he said.

In the commercial, Matsumoto plays an eyelash shop owner whose makeup skills are used for his women customers.

Today, the star sent out a message to women who spend every day making themselves the best that they can be.

“I hope you can find a beauty that suits only you and enjoy it. I like a woman who enjoys putting in the effort to be beautiful,” he said.

funny though , ARASHI 10-11 TOUR　“Scene”～君と僕の見ている風景～ wouldn't end until Jan 16th but there's always a possibility that they recorded the footages on 1 of the earlier tour dates

ARASHI to release their live tour DVD “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR ‘Scene’”

Get ready to wipe out those credit cards for pre-orders, everyone.

Arashi has announced that they will be releasing a DVD of their live tour on January 26th 2011! Temporarily titled as “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR “Scene” ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fukei~ 【stadium】“, the DVD footage will revolve around the live held at the National Olympic Stadium from September 3rd.

This release will consist of 2 DVDs with over 40 songs – naturally the majority of the songs will come from their latest album, “Boku no Miteiru Fukei“, but there are also solo songs from the members as well. Fans will be dazzled by the gorgeous stage effects which utilized sound, light, water, fire, and wind. Of course, the members’ MC moments will be included too!

The limited edition for the DVD will come out as a special package containing an original live photobook, 44 pages long.

it's ok Caroline , there's Taiwan press to the rescue xD & you can be assured that avex Taiwan will leave that 1st press bonus aspect of the DVD intact since my copy of Boku no Miteiru Fukei which I ordered from 5music , it's 1st press & inclusive of shipping , I only paid a mere S$20+ for it :thud

so you don't have to fret about that since concert DVDs are expensive & somemore Japan press always kills X_X

I don't know , maybe they don't want to be seen as being too rigid in this sense ?

after all , I find it stupid you can't let websites other than yours to show the pics of singles/albums/concert DVDs , of the artistes that you manage

Perfume & Ninomiya Kazunari to appear on “Tunnels no Minasan no Okage deshita”

Variety show “Tunnels no Minasan no Okage deshita” will be hit with a double dose of ultra A-list guests, as it’s been announced that Perfume and Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari will make their appearance for the December 16th episode.

They’ll appear on the corner, “Kitana-Umai Mise -KITANATAURANT- 2010“, which aims to introduce restaurants with run-down appearances, but amazingly delicious food.

Both Perfume and Ninomiya will introduce some menu items they personally recommend; it’s not yet clear if they will appear together or separately.

Yamada You made an appearance on the “VIP ROOM” corner of ”Himitsu no Arashi-chan“, broadcasted on December 9th. While on the show, she confessed that she had a “scent fetish”, and that she loves guys who smell like baby’s milk.

Naturally, this encouraged others to goad You into smelling the Arashi members to see if they matched up to her preferences. You was blindfolded, and the results…?

Entry No.1: Ninomiya Kazunari – “He smells good, kinda citrus-y.”
Entry No.2: Matsumoto Jun – “He smells like my old house I used to live in.”
Entry No.3: Aiba Masaki – “It’s wardrobe…he smells like a wardrobe…in a bad way.”
Entry No.4: Sakurai Sho – “India ink!”
Entry No.5: Ohno Satoshi – “He is pretty close to the smell of baby’s milk.” *smells his forehead* “ Ah! no good!”

You ended up choosing Entry No.5 (Ohno Datoshi) as the one with her most favorite scent, and her least favorite was Entry No.4 (Sakurai Sho).

Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland made an appearance on Arashi’s variety show, “Arashi ni Shiyagare“, which was broadcasted on December 11th.

Aiba Masaki got to meet Mr. Jack Bauer on the “Michi tono Sougu Shiyagare” corner, in which an Arashi member gets to learn a special skill from the guest. Kiefer came on to instruct Aiba on how to achieve a godlike body like his, and told him, ”Today, I came here to try to help you out with that, we can put you through a couple training sessions if you would like.”

Hilariously, the training sessions he had in mind involved Aiba carrying Kiefer on his back and walking around with the additional weight.

This week’s broadcast of “Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen“, which was aired on December 11th, welcomed Yamada Ryosuke as a guest.

During the show, Yamada proclaimed his love for animals, and said that he wants to “contact” animals outside. Therefore, they showed videos of Johnny’s Entertainment seniors who have previously “contacted” with animals outdoors, in order to teach Yamada how to deal with animals.

Role Model 1: Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN) teaches “solve vigilance”.
Role Model 2: Sakurai Sho (Arashi) teaches how to “stay calm”.
Role Model 3: Inohara Yoshihiko (V6) teaches how to “contact with baby animals”.
Role Model 4: Matsumoto Jun (Arashi) teaches how to “eliminate fear toward animals”.
Role Model 5: Yamaguchi Tatsuya (TOKIO) teaches how to “make animals have interest in you”.
Role Model 6: Ohno Satoshi (Arashi) teaches how to “be patient”.

there's not such a high chance, i think, for BnMF songs to be performed because they're album tracks, not singles. majority of the time, single songs get performed on these year end shows because they recap all the singles from the year.

maybe To be free and Dear Snow will get performed eventually? :shrug since Hatenai Sora & Love Rainbow was already performed at one show already: FNS.

Aiba Masaki to guest on final episode of Ninomiya’s “Freeter, Ie wo Kau”

Arashi’s Aiba Masaki will make a guest appearance on the last episode of “Freeter, Ie wo kau“, scheduled for broadcast December 21st.

The drama stars fellow Arashi groupmate Ninomiya Kazunari, and indeed, many fans were expecting Aiba to cameo in the final episode. The pop group has carried on a tradition in which a member with an upcoming drama will guest-star on the last episode of their bandmate’s sitcom.

Aiba will play the role as the successor of ‘Manami’ (Karina) at ‘Seiji’ (Ninomiya)’s workplace. Afterwards, it will be his turn to flex his acting skills in the upcoming drama, “Bartender“!

American release of “Gantz”: list of theaters revealed

the live action film version of “Gantz” is not only making its way to America, but is debuting on January 20th, which is a full nine days earlier than the Japanese release.

it would be shown at around 300 theaters across America, and now a list of the American theaters that will screen the film has been released!

The list of theaters covers 46 states, and the only four states in the union that don’t have screenings are Alaska, Mississippi, South Dakota, and Wyoming
