Nah, but seriously, it's most likely a new single written for the game; whether it'll be her leading track or coupling track is a totally different story, but I think it's highly likely it'll be a new track. The only recut track (correct me if I'm wrong) is Secret for that Chinese movie (which I'm assuming was recut on budget restraints). I'm not entirely sure on Depend on you's situation, but I'm pretty sure Startin' was written for Onimusha or at least inspired by it. Then we also have HEAVEN and Rule, both written for the movies SHINOBI and DBZ.

I only really recognize GIRL NEXT DOOR's track, but that alone makes me excited to see if maybe it'll be like a lead single for Ayu's trance album. :)
She isn't going to play the game, she could just read the script :rolleyes Startin' really doesn't seem as if it were inspired by Onimusha, but that's just me. Ayu did get to read the DBE script prior to writing Rule though.

I was wondering that myself. :P I haven't played any Tales games though I've heard of them but I thought they'd have better graphics than that especially since it's Namco.

A bit of the charm of Tales of... series is its cute anime inspired graphics, so they will be more defined, but they will never be like FF XIII graphics because their not meant to be that realistic :P

Depend on you was apparently based on the storyline of Wild Arms, they told her about the game and she wrote based on that apparently. It wouldn't surprise me if it had something to do with the theme of the game. The theme of Tales of Graces was "mamoritai" and was reflected in BoA's song.

Their is also a Ayu's song in Shenmue 2 called Ever free.

I have not played it for a long time but I think it is when you go collecting fire wood and ryo is standing on the edge of the cliff and some sort of bird flying around in the cut scene.

Any Tales fans want to shed light on how far along in the development process the games are usually announced? Is this something we can expect early next year (meaning the possibility of a recut or new 51st single) or a Square-Enix-style, six-year hype machine? (new [or recut, I guess] 70th single)?

They said the game is 60% done and it will most likely get a Japanese release date in 2011. A recut would flop badly.

honestly, it's up in the air. It could be something like be your wings from Girl next door, Mamoritai from BoA, or Karma from Bump of Chicken.

My bet, it's gonna be a summer single, after the BEST that we're gonna get in March. why a BEST, well, there's plenty of single, it's A BEST 10th anniversary, fresh of the 50th single, so I think there will be a BEST.

I hope not. We don't need another best of, and it hasn't really been that long since A COMPLETE. It's too early to celebrate anything tbh. If the song's being written for the game like some of the old songs were I doubt it'll be a happy summer song.

I agree maybe a small small break would do her sales good, like a release in like april/may those times a summer single perhaps or a bit earlier. it will help sales, and she will be able to promote it more :) and it seem that around those times Xilia might be released or a bit later so i think it fits :)

According to one of the articles in first post, ayu said that the song is already completed.

Yeah, I hope so, because the only way they can communicate very efficiently is to speak English - Ayu can speak Japanese and Mannie can speak German and Italian, but NOT vice versa...

Maybe Mannie should get Japanese lessons from a community college or so?

Yeah, I hope so, because the only way they can communicate very efficiently is to speak English - Ayu can speak Japanese and Mannie can speak German and Italian, but NOT vice versa...

Maybe Mannie should get Japanese lessons from a community college or so?
Well it will take years for him to learn Japanese, so yeah her perfecting her English would be way easier ^^

Doing Japanese from scratch for Mannie might be time-consuming, so Ayu's English improvement might be a better idea there. Maybe she should also visit Seattle, Detroit, Dallas, Orlando and more in America!

The only title I could think of that made me go "wat" was "my name's WOMEN" but that was years ago. /shrug Haven't noticed anything "wrong" with her titles at all, besides that... in fact I always thought her song titles were pretty clever or quite blunt: Liar, Hope or Pain?, like a doll, (don't) leave me alone...

She used WOMEN instead of WOMAN for a reason. She explained it in a TA article long long ago.

I thought the same. Other songs' title (before I listen) I don't understand is Bold & Delicious, Humming 7/4, flower garden, and +.

After listening B&D, I only partly understand. It is indeed BOLD with yayayaya gagagaga... but how Delicious? (Can someone explain to me, please?)

It is no doubt that ayu song title is very creative, e.g. "talkin' 2 myself" , "criminal", "don't look back", "sexy little things".. etc, but some of them are like myths before listening the song, e.g. "kiss o' kill", "Free&Easy", "November", etc..

Bold&Delicious was a title lifted directly from Sweetbox. So I don't think ayu herself had anything to do with that title.
