Whoa... Over FOUR months we haven't been updating...really? Why haven't we been updating this??? It seems we haven't really paid much attention as, say, few years back!
Not only that, ALL of the three members of Ikimonogakari are already in their 30s! The last one to reach 30 was Kiyoe, which happened at the end of February! Whoa, time goes really fast... 30s seems to be a bit old, especially for some female vocalists... Yoshioka Kiyoe - born 1984 February 29 (that's right - a leap year!), 30 years old Mizuno Yoshiki - born 1982 December 17, 31 years old Yamashita Hotaka - born 1982 August 27, 32 years old I'm not sure how long Ikimonogakari will last beyond ten years... And the only Twitter that I can find among Ikimonogakari is Yoshiki's - none from Hotaka, and especially none from Kiyoe... |

Anyway, I know about their releases because I check other sites, but honestly I'm busy and I'm a bit lazy too. lol. |

Finally listened to GOLDEN GIRL as the single leaked. I'm happy to say I like it a lot, easily my favourite A-side from this era. :) Anyone else liking it?

Wow, that tracklist is a lot. Is each of the normal edition discs made up of tracks selected by by a member? That would explain why the tracklist looks so all over the place and even the new songs are scattered all over. I hope the new songs are good.

Ohh, indefinite hiatus sounds ominous. I hope they do get back together one day, after recharging their batteries by working on their own. I also hope they'll release some music during their solo activities -- especially Kiyoe, as her songs have been some of my favourites ever since Mirai Wakusei.

Going to be really sad as we don't have any idea when or if Ikimonogakari will ever come up together again. It's a hiatus, but anything can happen... ;(
With that said, hopefully their solo projects will come up interesting. (And where's Kiyoe or Hotaka on Twitter? I don't see them anywhere!!! Only Yoshiki is on Twitter!) |

Also, there is a promotional video for this on Youtube, but Sony Music Japan stays hating foreigners and the 21st century, so it's unavailable outside of Japan. |
^ I'm disappointed Sony is still ignoring (some) foreign demands on YouTube, this behavior is toxic. They might have loosened things up for some artists (such as Nogizaka46), but for others such as Kiyoe/Ikimonogakari, miwa, Kana Nishino, etc, this is completely unacceptable. (>_<)
Okay, there is Vevo, but my problems with it are 1) not every artist has a Vevo, 2) not all videos are uploaded there (if there is one), and 3) quality is hit-or-miss. Unfortunately, Kiyoe and Ikimonogakari doesn't have Vevo, which really sucks. (I can't stress this enough: Get a VPN!) |
Ikimonogakari is resuming activities as a band. They will also embark on a fan club tour for the first time in eight years next year.

I don't like it. The sound is messy, the melody is uninteresting, the titular hook is not good enough to warrant that much repetition, and the energy is lacking. If this is what they are going to deliver, they might as well just get back to the meadows and keep grazing. |
