Yep seems to be that way. But if AS releases a Japanese single in Sep, it may be clashing with OC's Japanese debut. Im sure after OC's Korean comeback, it'll be AS's turn again. and yea! Happy Pledis..this year's gonna be bigger than ever!

I'm new to After School and I was wondering, does the graduation system mean that current members will leave and eventually the group will have an entirely new line up? I'm just confused as to how it works. :ooo:

It's first conceptualized by how a school works. Where you get freshmen and graduates. So eventually, these members will leave and we get new members who join the group too. It's modelled after Japan's Morning Mususme style too

So far we have had 3 graduates (So Young, Bekah and Kahi). Now, in After School, there's about 5/6 (if u split Lizzy from OC) generations of members.

I just wanted to point out some hilarious sentences by the members (imo)

Doesn't that mean that the current leader, Jungah, will graduate soon? It just seems a bit sad that her leadership position could be so temporary. Are they allowed to stay as long as they want?

Sidenote-- I feel sad that I missed Bekah being a part of the group. We have the same name!

^ I think it can be any members except for the newer members like Kaeun who just enrolled in the group. They're allowed to stay until they decide they want to pursue something else. Jungah can possibly graduate soon if she decides to go solo or pursue something else

Yep that's true. JungA will graduate eventually..(and you'll see floods of whines and complaints on this system once again). Pledis did say a member would graduate if she has achieved enough to be off on her own career. In all honesty, only Uee and Nana and maybe Lizzy could actually have their own career in different fields and take flight IN MY OPINION. JungA has the vocals but I still feel she doesn't seem to have THAT spotlight she deserves. (Raina could have her solo career too but still, she smehow isnt the most popular..E-young has extreme talent but her isnt in the front lines once again)

I don't feel JungA SHOULD graduate now, but given her time, she MAY graduate. However, when they gave her the leader title, I kinda felt, she might stay around longer. If Kahi left at 30/31/32, then I guess JungA still has 2-3 more years to go. Not sure if there is a policy on the number of years they can stay though. Ultimately, it might be a company's decision to bring in new blood and release the older and more experienced members from the group in years to come.

And I personally feel, people find the graduation system terrible because, AS is only 3 years old. Naturally when Bekah and Kahi graduate, they felt it's been too short. But in future, imagine Uee's, Nana's , Lizzy's graduation, I don't think people would actually COMPLAIN. They might miss them around but these girls are known for acting, modelling and being in variety respectively and ARE able to pursue these with greater commitment without being in a group. In the end, when they are old enough, they could manage their own careers. Lizzy has always wanted to be a variety host as far as I know haha! I feel Pledis is playing it really well because then they would have so many varieties of talents under them.

I understand, I mean, if one member is popular across several fields (acting, modeling, etc.) she would probably steal the spotlight from members who were equally as talented in the field of singing and dancing. Logically and strategically speaking, it makes sense. It's just sad when you become attached to a member that leaves.

I have to ask, and I don't mean to be rude, but are a lot of people Nana biased because of her looks? Because, honestly, she looks like she could be a supermodel, but I don't know if her personality really strikes me as all that different. So, so many people like her the best, though. I've never liked a K-Pop group where the fandom as a whole was so overwhelmingly biased towards one member, but then again, I'm relatively new to K-Pop so I don't know... :doh

Yes i think most people are Nana biased after she suddenly blossomed in the looks factor in...idk? Bang!/Orange Caramel? Clearly she had a really demure and very very lost/quiet personality when she just made her debut. Drastically different from the confident woman she now is. I think she got a lot more scenes in Bang! and Orange Caramel gave her a lot of room to show herself despite it being a cute concept. Esp during Bangkok City. I remember, by the time Shampoo was out, Nana was already one of the most popular members. But Shampoo fuelled her popularity even more as well.

Personality wise, I think she is alright. She does crack a few jokes once in a while on TV. If you watched Playgirlz School, you would know. She can be cute at times as well. but I feel that she is rather mature. to me, that is. hahaha

Darn it, they took down the full MV for Yasashii Akuma. Judging from the preview video its not that catchy like the other O.C. songs. Then again it is a cover song.

As for Nana, she is what got me into A.S. Her looks sold me after watching Namie Amuro Make it happen MV, lol. Nowadays she my second favorite behind Raina.

I know many may disagree with me, and that's cool, but I actually think Kahi is more beautiful than Nana. She has such an amazing presence. I wish she didn't leave After School right as I discovered them.

Don't get me wrong, I think Nana is beautiful. I just don't think she's the most beautiful girl in After School. I agree that Jooyeon is one of the prettiest girls in the group. Who are we kidding though, all the girls are beautiful.

I really like Uee too. She was my initial favorite, but after watching a few interviews, I really started to like Kaeun, Jooyeon, and Lizzy's personalities. I also really appreciate Jungah's maturity.

Kahi's charisma is BEYOND!!! No one can ever beat that. and Yes Juyeon's beauty is also amazing. She was the one who caught my eye after Kahi back in AH days.

My bias was Kahi. Now...I have no idea who. But Kaeun is super cute to me. I would really want to see more of her. I love Lizzy for her personality as well. And Eyoung is just such an amazing underrated girl, but these days we're seeing more of her. She's been on so many variety shows Im so happy. I really like Uie now compared to debut year.

I dunno...I just LOVE AS as a whole. :D

I bought Flashback and Virgin~ and I got Lizzy's card (Virgin). And of course Ka Eun and E-young's admission cards!

I don't think that Yasashii Akuma is catchy, I like their Korean stuff way better.
However, the concept is cute and I really like their outfits!

Btw, did you guys watch the fanmeet that was screened live the other day. Well, it kinda failed so only 18 mins of the last segment were shown where they sang Rip Off, Bang! and Diva.

For those who didnt watch, Bang!'s line structure was turned into how they distributed it for the Japanese version. Lizzy took over Kahi's first line. Kaeun took over Kahi's singing part in the bridge, right before Raina hits the high note. All the rapping goes to Lizzy as well. (Sadly, I thought E-young would get her own line since there was no need to share lines with Lizzy anymore..). In Diva, they lipsynced to the rap parts. Uie for Kahi's part and Lizzy for Bekah's part.

Darn it, I really wish Uie would have rap live, hopefully in the future. I think Lizzy is becoming a good rapper. I really like Nana rap but it seems her voice is a little soft, just lack the fierceness like Kahi and Bekah raps.
