Probably like 200-300k as usual?

34 dates with an average of maybe 10,000 or so [maybe more?] per venue... so 300k+ at the very least?

Andrenekoi 4th September 2012 07:44 AM

^Isn't she already performing to between 300k~400k people since At09, I believe?

truehappiness 4th September 2012 07:52 AM

Yeah, she's been consistently doing 30+ dates every tour, but the venue capacity varies a lot from concert to concert or even from venue to venue since she doesn't necessarily always do the same stops every time.

JEWELian 6th September 2012 02:40 PM

Around 10k average is right I'd say, though then again at both Shizuoka Ecopa Arena and Marine Messe Fukuoka, they weren't operating at capacity

They had large sections to either side of the stage and in the last few rows where they had covered the seats with black cloths, and both Saturday shows I went to weren't sold out.

pheonixflame15 7th September 2012 02:51 AM

Not sold out, isn't that odd for an Ayu concert?

truehappiness 7th September 2012 02:59 AM

The concerts as far as I know usually end up close to sold out most of the time. She has a lot of shows nowadays so they're not as likely to sell out as say, when she had like 20-25 shows a season. Back in AT07, she only had a little more than a dozen concerts, I think?

The ones that definitely tend to sell out completely are the first few shows and the finale though.

TeamAyu2004 7th September 2012 03:02 AM

I think if she is 90+ sold out for so many shows, that still a good amount of people.

polka-dot-jewel 7th September 2012 05:22 AM

^^ this year was the exception, I suppose. Who knows how the last shows will turn out, but the first two shows at Saitama this year were not sold out. There were plenty of signs around the arena (and announcements on Ayu's website) saying tickets were still available. I mean it's a huge arena, and probably one of the bigger ones Ayu performs at, so it's not like she wasn't sold out in a 5000-seat arena.

Well, I personally didn't see empty seats in Marine Messe, which means there were few (because when I look at the stand and arena seats as at single picture - they're full of people and the hall is completely packed). Actually I was so surprised that she performs in Fukuoka for the 3rd and 4th time this year and these concerts are still sold out! Let's don't forget that people may not buy worst seats at (for example) Yahoo auctions, but the one who sells it on Yahoo has already paid for the tickets he sells, right? So these seats may be empty but that don't necessarily mean that they're weren't sold in the first place. That's my theory :-)

Andrenekoi 7th September 2012 05:45 PM

Isn't she holding some tickets to sell on the concert date lately? I remember reading about this... Not that she would sell out without doing it (her tours have a lot of dates), but if the only way some people can buy tickets is going to the arena on the concert date and checking if there still are tickets left, it's just natural some aren't sold.

Still... if she sells 90% of her sits, she is still doing pretty well

ayumisrael 7th September 2012 11:54 PM

I wouldn't think she would have many tour dates to begin with if not for high demand.
Her arena tours are the longest in the country and she wouldn't do many dates just to lose or add money obviously.

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 12:00 AM

I'm pretty sure she salea a good bulk of her albums too at the concerts. Which helps avex.

She could have sell out concerts if she went back to her past 2008 numbers, +- 16 dates per tour. Still, money wise, 16 sold out dates < 30+ almost sold out dates. :P

Chris85 8th September 2012 12:17 PM

One of my favourites parts of this concert is the beginning of "Happening Here" when Ayu and others say "Youkoso HOTEL Love songs he!" (Welcome to HOTEL Love songs!) :-))) Just Love it!

Btw, is it counting on oricon?

truehappiness 8th September 2012 01:49 PM

Usually it does but only a small amount of sales. Like... 30% or 3,000 copies? Whichever comes first.

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2012 04:44 PM

^ Oh, so they stop at 3000? is that per venue or for the entire concert tour?

I knew it was 30%, but didn't know there was a cut off.

EDIT:
Which is why I also say I don't really trust the numbers by oricon (they dont count everything) and I would pick a number between what avex says and what oricon says... :yes

I think it depends on which cd shop is selling the CDs there? Like Saitama, it was Yamano Music and there was a good range of Ayu CDs and DVDs.

Aderianu 9th September 2012 01:58 PM

That's so complicated %)

roanmy 11th September 2012 09:48 AM

I have a question.

I am planning to go to the concert in Osaka, however I have not gotten tickets yet, mainly because I wasa bit unsure how, since I do not have a JP account to pay with via Yahoo Auctions.

Then I found out about these awesome little loppi/e-plus machines.

My question is, what sort of ticket will I get from these machines? I don't mind not having front-row seats, but I'd also like not to be on the outer edge of the venue.

LacusClyne 11th September 2012 10:43 AM

^i believe the seats are randomly printed out. So you might get arena seat or maybe the highest level seat.

AyuGAME 11th September 2012 11:29 AM

roanmy - from what i know, all Ayu concert tickets already sold out, so you can't buy it from loppi.

you need to buy member FC ticket or ticket from third party seller. Like yokohama ticket.

You can buy it from the store or from website. You can buy from other website too. You can pay it via paypal.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 12th September 2012 04:59 AM

SOMEONE TRADE ME FRONT SEAT TICKETS FOR MY SOUL PELASE

TeamAyu2004 12th September 2012 05:13 AM

^ for a soul, I would ask for a meet and greet too! ^_^

LacusClyne 13th September 2012 05:14 AM

For tickets, you can buy from reseller shops or if there are some left over tickets, they will be sold at the concert area.

When I was at Saitama, first and second day show, they were still selling the tickets.

roanmy 13th September 2012 03:16 PM

I have a question;

The curtains are to rise at 19:00 (7pm) in Osaka on 9/19.
At what time can I expect the show to be over?
Nice to know with regards to tickets back to Tokyo etc.
Thanks! =)

The concert's duration is about 2,6 hours (160 minutes).

roanmy 14th September 2012 09:16 AM

How long does it take to get out of the venue?

I apologize for all the questions, but my bus leaves Umeda Sky Building at 23.00, so want to be sure I'll be able to make it.

I'm not sure about Osaka Jo Hall, but it took me about 10 minutes in Fukuoka.

I was able to get out within 5 minutes from Yokohama arena, I was upstairs, while my friends who were down took more than 10 minutes. It all depends on where your seat is...Still getting in takes waaaay longer.

Oh and the show is around 2hrs long if my memory serves me well as I kinda lost track of time during the show, give or take a few minutes if it starts on time.

162 minutes, so it's around 3 hours long.

roanmy 17th September 2012 11:31 PM

Hmm, I should make my bus ok then, wee!

I AM GOING TO HEAR (and hopefully see) AYU TOMORROW =D

Sorry to spam a little, just excited. ;)

JEWELian 18th September 2012 05:02 AM

^Are you taking a midnight Willer Express? They have busses leaving at 12:30am. If the concert's at 7pm, she'll come on around 7:20 and it'll go until around 9:50-10pm.

Getting out will take a while depending how quickly you can get out of the arena... if you jump up as soon as how beautiful you are is over you have no problems, but if you get caught behind the crowd it can take a while (I mean, there are 10,000 people all trying to get out one exit at the same time..)

Have fun!!!!

roanmy 18th September 2012 05:45 AM

I am!

Thanks! =D

JEWELian 18th September 2012 07:01 AM

Okay, well yeah, even if you had to walk from Osaka Jo Hall to Umeda Sky building, there's still no chance you'd miss it.

(Sidenote... unless you paid for a fancy bus, you're not going to be in for a good night. They're as uncomfortable as hell!)

AyuWorld 19th September 2012 08:48 AM

i saw this pic on FB
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

is that a performance from Hotel Love Song Tour? looks interesting love the casual outfit, thin it is Hanabi

Yoake 19th September 2012 09:06 AM

^I think it's only a pic taken during a rehearsal!

AyuWorld 19th September 2012 11:21 AM

^ oh maybe she posted it on TA, haha i realized that loose track bottom she amways wear during rehearsal think you are right xD

roanmy 20th September 2012 12:01 AM

So Osaka 9/19! =D

She mostly exceeded my expectations vocally. Especially during the "lonely queen" parts of Party Queen, and during the start of Love song. You & Me and HBYA also stood out as exceptional.

Some of the first songs she performed could have been slightly better though, and I'm also suspecting that they simply turned up the volume towards the end of HBYA, but it doesn't matter, it was awesome.
Sparkle was also a bit low on volume, but oh well.

Also, during the encore she forgot the lyrics to Boys & Girls. Her own reaction was very cute, but it seemed like most of the audience didn't notice!

TeamAyu2004 20th September 2012 01:50 AM

Great! Looks like you had a great time!! It sounds like it was a good comcert and I love the times she forgets her lyrics... Lol

njanjayrp 20th September 2012 06:06 AM

Glad to hear you had fun! I can't wait for the next year!

JEWELian 21st September 2012 07:57 AM

Roanmy, did she only perform a 3-song encore?

njanjayrp - are you planning on going again next year too? If so let's go together! (I'm planning on taking my mum as well xD)

roanmy 21st September 2012 08:11 AM

^Yeah, and no Return Road either. =P

tokyoxjapanxfan 21st September 2012 08:58 AM

I still can't believe RR has been cut (at least for now) like...that was one of the better parts of the concert for me, lol.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 21st September 2012 09:05 AM

When is the final and where? Do we know already?

Chris85 21st September 2012 09:10 AM

Wow, that's very surprising! I'm especially happy now that I was able to watch RR performance.
But this source states that 4 songs were used for encore for both dates in Osaka:

Oh I'm sorry, I completely forgot! Yes, She sang Humming 7/4, and it got the crowd going!

As did Shake it! and NaNaNa.

There were a LOT of older people in the audience (the entire row in front of me had to be at least 50), and the reaction to Timmy was a bit... Luke-warm.

LacusClyne 21st September 2012 11:34 AM

Huh? No return road? That was one of the good performance!

AyuGAME 21st September 2012 01:43 PM

why??????

JEWELian 22nd September 2012 05:48 AM

Return Road cut? Wow, what a shame. That performance was one of the highlights from the evening, made me cry. The ending is pretty similar to BALLAD from ARENA TOUR 2010.

polka-dot-jewel 22nd September 2012 07:05 AM

Wow... I'm VERY surprised RR was cut!! That always seemed to be a favorite, if not the favorite, performance from the tour! I wonder if it had something to do with the dress, like someone else mentioned...

JEWELian 25th September 2012 02:42 AM

I got all excited about 'call' but then realised these must be from her first performance at Osaka in April!

Anyway, looks like they're celebrating her 15th anni in a big way, and I'm betting that ARENA TOUR 2012 DVD will be one of these five-month consecutive releases (and hopefully this means a large 15th anniversary (asia?) tour too...)

pheonixflame15 25th September 2012 01:28 PM

Oh yeah! I just noticed the different set list from Osaka! I was wondering where HANABI was lol

JEWELian 26th September 2012 06:59 AM

For example because of the current conflict between China and Japan -China even banned the latest Hollywood "Resident Evil" movie simply because it's based on Japanese game.

I hope when the time is come, the situation has already get better

ExodusUK 2nd October 2012 12:13 PM

What about Hong Kong though? She can still do Singapore, Taiwan, maybe even Malaysia (or is Malaysia too conservative for Ayu's show?) and perhaps the success of SM Towns in Indonesia and the Philippines will show Avex there is money to be made outside of the Sinosphere. I wonder if Thai people still hate her.

truehappiness 3rd October 2012 02:02 AM

I think the Thai thing was made up, haha. Why is that rumor still a thing anyway?

From 2003:
Spoiler:
Quote:

I know this is old news, but .....
http://search.japantimes.co.jp/membe...20030202tc.htm

She didn't really want to go. "What do I have to go to Thailand for?" she grumbled. Even the prospect of an audience with a royal princess failed to rouse her. Was she herself not royalty? The queen of J-Pop? The mainstay of a sagging music industry? The first, second and last word in teen and post-teen fashion? God herself, to her millions of fans?

Ayumi Hamasaki, at 24, is all these things, and this quasi-diplomatic mission to Bangkok, where she would have to kneel before a mere princess by blood, left her cold. But the Thai-government was keen to host her, and her record company was keen to send her, and so, sullenly resenting that all the worship she commands has not made her mistress of her own fate, she went. It would have been better if she'd stayed home.

Shukan Bunshun recounts the fiasco.

The prime mover, with staunch Thai government backing, was the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association. Thailand's biggest market for its gem exports is Japan. Who better than Hamasaki to implant in Japanese young people a craving for Thai rubies?

The arrangements that took shape called for her to spend four days in Bangkok. On Day Three she would take part in a palace ceremony and present Princess Ubonratana, the eldest daughter of King Rama IX, with the 3.6 million yen collected by the TGJTA for the princess' narcotics eradication program.

Hamasaki left Narita for Bangkok on Nov. 26. Trouble began before the Thai Airways plane was off the ground. Her luggage, with its 100 outfits, took time to load. Her protests over the seating arrangements took time to deal with -- she was not pleased to learn the first-class seat next to hers would be occupied. When the plane finally took off, 40 minutes late, the seat in question was taken -- reports Shukan Bunshun -- by Hamasaki's teddy bear.

At Bangkok's Don Muang Airport, the star snubbed a troupe of Thai dancers on hand to welcome her and brushed past a pack of reporters into a waiting limo, which whisked her along streets cleared of traffic to her $2,600-a-night accommodation at the Peninsula Hotel.

For the next two days she behaved as if her mission entailed offending as many people as possible, giving short shrift to reporters, abruptly canceling a scheduled TV appearance, and indulging in the sort of conspicuous consumption that is an outrage to less privileged members of our species.

Then came the "main event." One of 10 VIP participants, Hamasaki was ushered into a palace waiting room to await a rehearsal. There were formalities to master: the proper bow, the proper deportment (don't look higher than the princess' eyes). The rehearsal duly began -- but where was Hamasaki? When had she slipped out?

The ceremony was over before she reappeared, looking perfectly composed. Adding insult to injury, one of her staffers snapped a photo of the princess.

"It's a rather embarrassing story," a record company spokesperson tells Shukan Bunshun. "Hamasaki simply refused to take part. She said she wouldn't kneel to the princess. Her staff tried to make her see reason, but it was no use. 'I don't want to, and that's that,' she said."

With that she flounced out through a back exit and took refuge, apparently, in a parked bus. Just an over-pampered kid in a bad mood, you might say. True -- but Shukan Bunshun wonders if Hamasaki realizes how close she came to getting herself arrested. The Thai royal family enjoys a quasi-divine status, similar to that of Japan's prewar emperor. An insult to the royals is no laughing matter. On the contrary, it's generally a police matter. Hamasaki got away with it, the magazine speculates, only because Princess Ubonratana has a soft spot for performers.

I'm half Thai, so I suppose I automatically felt kind of insulted. My grandparents were nobility in Thailand, and there, nobility is something that is EARNED by a person's merits, not something one is born into. Ayu is just as much a commoner as the princess. It's a slightly more egalitarian and meritocratic way of life than Ayu's used to, I suppose ....

I couldn't believe it when I read it, that Ayu could be so rude to her hosts. I HIGHLY respect and love Ayu, and to hear tell of her being so childish and petulant kind of bothers me .... I hope she's not like that anymore ....
Pretty sure it was as true as the "Timmy" boyfriend thing with a Tiffany ring/bracelet or whatever back in 2006. The 'source' is one of those tabloids that tends to report on Ayu's multiple abortions and such.

I wonder if Thai people still hate her.

This could easily be a rumor, I thought Ayu couldn't do a concert in Singapore because the cost would be too much? That's what I remember reading back in 2007 or 2008, anyway. I'm sure her net's gone down a bit so the cost of having her perform would be down a bit.

I'd like to see her explore a bit more of Asia myself as well and perform in Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, etc. Of course, the US would be nice, and I'm sure she would love to perform here, or at one point wanted to, but realistically speaking, she'd perform in Asia before anywhere else.

anyway
is there any of member here having pictures when Ayu was in Thailand?

Jawdarna 3rd October 2012 09:52 AM

I'm pretty sure she should do a show here in Australia! (technically we should be considered South-East Asians, and thus, an eligible stop for an Asian tour!)

I'm surprised she hasn't visited yet (or has she?).

With how far apart people live I don't think she will go. Even though it may technically be considered part of Asia(never heard of that before, btw), it's a country with western culture and language, the vast majority of people have never heard about Ayumi and the density of people living there is so low it's logistically a bad idea to go unless you know for a fact you have many fans that will come.

From 2003:
Spoiler:

Pretty sure it was as true as the "Timmy" boyfriend thing with a Tiffany ring/bracelet or whatever back in 2006. The 'source' is one of those tabloids that tends to report on Ayu's multiple abortions and such.

omg i REALLY that the news is not true at all, i mean really?? why must she was so reluctant to see the Princess?and she didnt want to meet the fans? it seems not so ayu the way the told the story,i think this is the same year as Uraayu photobook had been published, remember saw the making of where people run for her like crazy even on the streets,i think shes enjoy the fact that people were chasing after the "Queen of Jpop Hamasaki Ayumi" :P

Haha, no, we're considered Oceania but due to our position geographically, we should really be considered South East Asia. Regardless, I've met quite a few people here who know who she is (no where near as well known as Namie Amuro though). I think it would be possible for her to come here; but she would be confined to Sydney/Melbourne. Are you actually Australian/live in the Eastern states? (I used to live in the West and nobody knows who the hell she is there).

Anyway, back on topic. I really hope she does do a world tour, even if it's not for her 15th, perhaps her 20th? :D

Delicious n Bold 3rd October 2012 05:06 PM

Wait
There are rumours of Ayu doing a world tour?
Whoa.

Jester 3rd October 2012 05:27 PM

I'm from Thailand (But I didn't have the photo of her when she has been here, In that time I didn't know her yet) I can told you that news it's a rumor taploid stuff because it's very strict here, If she done that there will be no Ayu's stuff here in Thailand anymore.

(Actually most of the J-Pop fan still love Ayu as for her older stuff, her popularity has drop since Koda and then now it seem like everybody know Namie more than Ayu)

I live in WA. and considering 80% of WA seems to be Asian (I have no idea where everyone else is, seriously. At the beach maybe?) people certainly know her here. Heck, I see her face in magazines every time I ride through past the City.

^

I wish Boston was like that, no one here has ever heard of her.

Not to be blunt... Oh forget it, lets be blunt. Ayu RUINED 'appears'!
#dead
I think I'm gonna cry for a few days in a corner...

??

She sang it flawlessly at all three dates I went to...
People also really responded well to the song. The first time in Shizuoka there was a whole group of girls in the row in front who all just screamed "natsukashii~~~~~~~~"

TeamAyu2004 4th October 2012 04:52 AM

^ First, I think DnB has to realize that this was recorded on a bad phone mic... its going to sound horrible...

also, I think its the fact that ayumi's voice is so different from when she first sang this song...

I actually like this version better besides some of the ii ii's... lol

I lived/was born in country WA, so that would explain why!
( I lived there for nearly my entire life; nobody listens to anything different there but from what they listen to on the radio, but I'm sure that it is the same everywhere in country Australia, the amount of immigrants/people with origins outside of Australia just don't seem to flock there like they do in cities).
I know!!! It's the same over here at the moment.
I think she could definitely pull the numbers for a concert here.

I actually have seen quite a few users on AHS from Perth, but I thought I had better comment on my own experience of nobody knowing her (but like I said before, it is flawed considering I have not yet lived in Perth).

Yup. I don't think that she could've done it better. People loved it and so did I.
