I need an album to be excited about...
Last time I went bananas was last year with LEVEL3.
I know kumi's readying a new album but if a song like dancing in the rain is any indication of quality, it's not worth my time. Maybe ayu's ballad trilogy will be fun.

KarenPang 6th November 2014 05:33 AM

I hope BREAKERZ will finally come back for good in 2015 . Not that I don't like them doing solo stuff at the moment but the feeling's not the same

Let's just hope that I wouldn't need to wait 7 years & counting for them to reunite back again , *cough Acid Black Cherry cough*

NintendoHTF1242 6th November 2014 09:18 PM

I'm glad MiChi is going to art school but goddamn it get your ass into the studio with T.O.M MadNesS and make a new song with him!

Kacku 10th December 2014 09:12 PM

This morning, I was walking around town. Suddenly I realized that I had my mouth open for no reason, and literally thought to myself: "Damn, I'm doing the Koda Kumi mouth". Made my morning a little more amusing!

AyusakiFan 23rd December 2014 11:01 PM

I'm going to need SM to slow down on their EXO releases. Their limited edition collector's book, concert album, and concert photo books have all been put up for sale in a week's time. In addition, their 2015 Calendar just came out yesterday. Although I could space out my purchases, they know I'm a sucker and need to preorder right when something is listed, especially for a limited edition. Thank God a lot of the artists I listen to haven't clogged December up with a ton of releases like they have in the past or my wallet would have really been in trouble. :ymad

Kacku 24th December 2014 09:14 AM

I've been trying to come up with my top-lists of Japanese music things this year, and that made me realize what a lousy albums year this has been. I'm seriously having a hard time just trying to pull a top 10 together. Granted, I haven't heard everything I intend to yet, and I may have forgotten something, but still, this is just wrong.

AyusakiFan 11th March 2015 07:08 PM

GAIN just released the best kpop song and video of 2015 and 2015 is not nearly close to being over. I'm going to need everyone to get their life and bathe in the greatness of this song and video. I seriously can't see other mainstream kpop artists outdoing this, even my other faves.

Bigtop 12th March 2015 06:46 AM

I'm not sure if I should go ahead with the miwa "ONENESS" album pre-order (scheduled to release on 4/8, same day as Ayu's "A ONE"). I'm a bit disappointed with the tracklisting, and I might think about reconsidering my pre-order.

we should have a Ga In thread XD
I totally agree. The concept of the pv and the song are so good. And the EP "Hawwah" is the best Korean female release in 2015, or for this first quarter of the year. Hopefully, IU will also make a comeback soon.

Rewatching Kuu's Premium Limited Live in Yokohama Arena, I remembered that Cherry Girl and BUT had an awesome arrangement with the big band. It's just super cool

You and me both!

Edit: I'm just thinking about my ayaka meltdown when she released the covers for rainbow road/the general shittiness about that album. I hope the music is good.

terra 14th April 2015 08:53 AM

^I'm also with you guys both, she sounds so fresh and fun!

BlackSilence 15th April 2015 01:01 AM

Now since Jaejoong is gone for 2 years, i'm not sure what to do with my life lol i mean i finally found an other dude to fill in for GACKT, and he's out too....
I still have an option though....

I absolutelly unbelievably love this voice, but he's not doing much.
It's funny how sometimes you can find some real gems just randomly going around on youtube. Let alone someone who does rock.

Also going back to GACKT. That guy is experiencing a mid-life crisis or something. He's literally going for "sex sells", not to mention his random merch is absolutely pointless and ridiculous. He's been going on from one place to the other around the world for god knows what reasons. And also who the f announces new single to be released in f****ng JULY in like March?! :headache In short, he does everything except music, i'm starting to think that he believes that whatever has his name attached will sells like hot pies. i'm starting to think that he's just trying to stay relevant throwing himself into various things cuz he's no music to back him up. He's really driving me mad for the last year or so. :shakehead

KarenPang 15th April 2015 05:39 AM

BREAKERZ can you just please release the covers + PV/single preview now for WE GO already , pretty please ? D:

Not that I don't mind waiting

Ugh. Southern All Stars stole miwa and Ayu's thunder, takes away #2 for the week. miwa #3, Ayu #4. :eviltongu (especially on SAS)

I'm just hoping Ayaka gets #1. PLEASE. (While I'm still waiting for my replacement order of the Room Ayaka version of Rainbow Road album because the original order went into a wrong address...oops)

Well, never mind about that.

One of them is going to be put up for auction for eBay, pretty soon...

Kacku 26th April 2015 11:10 AM

OK, I love DAISHI DANCE but I just listened to the previews for his new "re-edit best" album on iTunes and no, this is not good. Everything is just the old track + noise and it doesn't improve any of the songs. DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT ME is downright offensive. A.T.W! got ruined as well, how dare he do that to GILLE's vocals. I need this dude to take his piano, go back to the forest and forget about clubs and all the EDM shit.

Someone whom I recently befriended in the BREAKERZ fandom is finally going to see BREAKERZ live in action with regards to their upcoming/comeback tour

And for her to thank me for giving her courage to make her dream materialise , that means a lot to me since I've been in their fandom for so long

Almost every single day I thought of leaving their fandom since literally nobody is interested in BREAKERZ but times like this , at least I know what I've done has not gone down the drain

And oh yeah , it's basically everyone's loss & it's my own superior gain , no doubt about it and for that it makes me every more so determined not to leave BREAKERZ in the lurch

KarenPang 30th April 2015 07:33 AM

DAIGO indirectly talked to me last night during his once a month DAIGO P web show

He didn't mentioned my name but he did said Singapore (so many times this time round xD) + he lamented that it's a pity that I'm not able to go for BREAKERZ's free live concert that will take place on the same date as their comeback single

I was surprised & taken aback when DAIGO said that before DAIGO P finished the broadcast . I was like , did that just happened live on the net ? Damn

KarenPang 2nd May 2015 01:44 PM

I'm discovering Suiyoubi no Campanella. They are amazing and I need to hear everything they have made.

Bigtop 17th August 2015 03:52 AM

Gosh, we need to discuss here once again.

Okay, back to Dreams Come True - after upsetting Ayu at the very last day - could be getting #1 once again. Albums competition this week is weak, and while I haven't been checking Oricon often this week, I saw that DCT has been doing #1 daily rankings once again, in the verge for another #1 weekly ranking and probably the fifth #1 in six weeks (save for V6 20th anniversary album).

What is this? 1990s or early 2000s? No - it's 2015! :O

Kacku 19th August 2015 04:32 PM

Any other fans of MONKEY MAJIK here? I've been gradually falling in love with their music for the past year and I think I'm now officially obsessed with them and I need to know I'm not the only one. :weep And how good was their latest album?! It keeps growing on me and it just has so many great songs. Walk with me is so BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING and FLAWLESS it makes me want to cry while I'm smiling. Today I also discovered that If can bring me to tears and Mahou no Kotoba makes me smile like crazy.

NintendoHTF1242 19th August 2015 06:33 PM

Gosh, I haven't listened to MONKEY MAJIK since their song with ravex...

Kacku 19th August 2015 09:29 PM

^ I had no idea they had a song with ravex, but since you brought it up, I looked it up and, surprise surprise, I really like it! More downloading for me to do now, lol.

But seriously, you should check out their newer material! Most of my favourite stuff by them is post-2010. westview, DNA, and Colour by Number are all great albums.

This week's obsession: Miu Sakamoto's PHANTOM girl album. So good, but so short! Speaking of Kana Nishino...

Quote:

Kana Nishino Fans Accused Of Sabotaging chay's Reputation

Kana Nishino fans are being blamed for a sudden spike in negative reviews on chay's music.

In recent days, chay's music has received many 1-star reviews on online retailers such as iTunes. Her music videos on YouTube have also seen an increase in dislikes.

Netizens have attributed the negative feedback on chay's music to Kana Nishino fans. According to netizens, Nishino's fans are trying to tarnish chay's image to diminish her ability to compete against Nishino.

Kana Nishino and chay are both young female soloist whose image, sound, and musical appeal are all similar. Earlier this year, chay had a breakout single "Anata ni Koi wo Shite Mimashita" which has made her a more well-known artist.

chay is preparing to release a new single titled "Suki de Suki de Suki Sugite" on October 21. The timing of the negative reviews and chay's new single coming out, along with the two artists' similarities, is what prompted netizens to accuse Nishino fans of this activity.

http://www.jpopasia.com/news/kana-ni...on::18444.html
:shakehead

This...is a bit too ridiculous. :O

I'm quite shocked Kanayan has a bit of a rival here. chay? Who is she? The only things that I can think of is that chay is/was a model, and she plays guitar, unlike Kana Nishino who doesn't play the guitar as such.

But I'm quite surprised there's Kanayan fans bashing on chay. This...seems odd to me. (I don't pay attention to chay, and even then, I've lost track of Kanayan in recent times...) :rolleyes

I'm pretty surprised. BREAKERZ at the Kouhaku!? I didn't even expect that to happen! All while I'm waiting for the official Kouhaku announcement and the hopes of Nogizaka46 appearing in the Kouhaku at the first time as well...

This brings me to my next point: Any guesses who's coming to the Kouhaku this year? Maybe bring in Leo Ieiri as well? Bring back aiko? And are we really sure Arashi's going to appear in the Kouhaku since they're going to host the "potentially rebooted" Johnny's Countdown at the same night?

Yeah, my mind says anything can happen - to the worse case they could disband... They say they're going to try to do their best not to disband as a three-member group, but my instincts otherwise say so... :no

I cannot believe how this could happen. Ten years ago KAT-TUN was an energetic six-person group. But by next spring, the group's already cut in half...

Even this news just hit The Japan Times. :O http://www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/.../#.VlVe8mQrJ3k

(Then again, NEWS started as a nine-person group, but for the past few years or so it's down to only four)

Other than the KAT-TUN news and the Best Artist BS (and where's Best Artist on JPopsuki??? I don't see it as of now... (>_<)), I've been too busy spending computer downtime trying to transcode Leo Ieiri's recent live tour on Blu-ray into a more compact MKV file. It took me over 18 hours just to do this with my six-year-old i7-860 processor! Uploaded it into JPopsuki, and making use of that recently new 50-megabit high-speed Internet upgrade we've been having over a month. Now if I only had a newer computer with a six- (or even eight-)core processor, but that might not happen for another year or so...

KarenPang 26th November 2015 09:19 AM

Wonder what's taking so long for NHK to announce the host & performers' names for this year's Kouhaku , it never took this long @_@

Anyway from what I'm reading online , the list should be released today & from what I've known so far , some of the artistes' names have been revealed already

Congrats to the 1st time performers' though , for now

Bigtop 27th November 2015 07:05 AM

Finally! Arashi NOT hosting the Kouhaku (still a competitor, but then again, Johnny's Countdown host duties), and I can't wait for Nogizaka46 to perform for the first time in the Kouhaku! Not surprised Ayumi Hamasaki's absent, but I'm surprised aiko and Leo Ieiri isn't in the Kouhaku either.

Now I feel I rather talk to myself than faced negative remarks/comments from trolls , especially for those who constantly is so critical of an artiste who sings so badly in live performances :o

It's so easy to complain of a bad live performance constantly & if you're so smart in complaining , why not YOU be the 1 singing in the artiste's position instead ? You probably can't get a single sound out of your damn mouth :rolleyes

Corvina 5th December 2015 07:12 PM

Well, it's something you sadly have to face standing in the spotlight.
That's why I admire everybody, who's standing on stage singing, as you open up your heart and soul for the audience.
Critique should be welcomed, but it always depends on how it is phrased.
Sometimes it just helps to rant about it to let everything out. :laugh

And I know how you feel with unrecognized fan love. There are quite a few artists I love to follow, who doesn't have a thread here, not to mention even be known here.
That's why I like JPop Central, as it is at least a bit wider in music taste for lesser known artists. Though you also don't find everybody there.
Sometimes it's just unfortunate to be a foreign fan.

KarenPang 6th December 2015 04:50 AM

lol I was sick yesterday and I just had to rant/vent it all out

Anyway I'm used to it since all the while , support for BREAKERZ overseas has always been minimal since I 1st joined their fandom in mid 2008

If I want to leave their fandom I would have done a long time ago & not now . Now I come to a stage where I feel I rather talk to myself in their thread on here , instead of enduring drama from other people in other threads

I can't force people to like what I like but I say this anyway , you don't know what you're missing out on

Sorry Karen! I wasn't really active this last month. T_T But now I'm back. Don't feel alone! Even if i don't respond to every single post I read every post. :shughug

I understand what you feel as I don't have a lot of reply in Shokotan's thread too while I know there is some people who like her.

Corvina maybe try to make a thread about your artists, or talk about them in this thread? You may find people who like them or will discover them. I know how hard it is when you like an artist and nobody seems to care about it. I'm trying to share a lot about a new singer who's quite talented and interesting to me. Unfortunately, nobody has answered yet. But I'll persevere!

KarenPang 6th December 2015 11:21 AM

Ah no no Aurore what I said earlier on was not aimed at you , apologises on that x.x

Anyway many threads in the Artistes and Bands have gone un noticed and not just BREAKERZ

Maybe it's because I listen to many artistes and some are under rated . It's ok , my gain is other people's loss

Yoake 6th December 2015 08:53 PM

^oh don't apologise. I know that. I wanted to encourage you because I don't like when my friends are angry or sad.

KarenPang 7th December 2015 05:40 AM

WaT are disbanding in February 2016 =(

While I'm not a big WaT fan , it's always unfortunate whenever a duo/band disbands

Let alone for them to announce this yesterday during their 1st concert in 8 years , that sucks . I feel for their fans who have supported them since 2002 x_x

I've already thought about it, but I guess I won't. If nobody respondes, I won't update it anyway and just keep enjoying this artists in silence. I'm not as disciplined as Karen for that. :laugh

Speaking of Arashi's Japonism album...I'm already falling in love with "Furusato". This was the song I've been waiting for! (2011 earthquake relief song?) I got interested in it especially after last year's Kouhaku. Problem was - it wasn't released in a single or album - until I realized it was part of the Japonism album (regular edition)...FINALLY!

I long ago accepted that BREAKERZ are only for me to enjoy , on AHS since this has been happening from the very beginning I started to support them , since 2008

That's why now I don't mind to talk to myself in their thread , instead of facing shallow/narrow minded comments in other threads found on here :x

Honey, sweetheart. U do realize that not every human being in this world have the SAME taste in music right? No human being is programmed the same. Imagine how FUCKING BORING this planet Earth would be if the inhabitants likes the same things. Same type of music. Same type of food. No diversity at all. And shallow/narrow minded comments in other threads? You're rude. There I said it. COME AT ME.

Title of KAT-TUN's new single is quite ironic given what has happened

This might be the last release featuring Taguchi sigh

YuriChan 25th December 2015 05:33 AM

KARA might be disbanding soon! ;_; http://www.koreaboo.com/news/kara-ru...p-media-nears/

LONJJONG 25th December 2015 05:46 AM

^ Oh no! DSP is on their verge now. They better push Rainbow more.

owlflight 25th December 2015 10:46 AM

Korean show Immortal Song needs to digitally release official performance recordings so I can listen to my favs whenever and wherever! Also Girls' Generation needs to release a Tokyo Dome live cd or at least release the ballad version of Into the New World.

KarenPang 30th December 2015 01:05 PM

flumpoo's new album title is called EGG

:roflmao :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

I think flumpool ran out of ideas on what to name their new album . EGG is just hilarious I can't xD

Bigtop 31st December 2015 04:58 AM

JSB (Sandaime J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE) wins the Japan Record Awards again. Ugh. (>_<)

Seems like the JSB boys are the hottest boys in J-pop. Especially 2015.

Didn't Kaela Kimura just have a single called Egg?
Plus all those rumours for Ayu and the fashion magazine called like that.
Japanese seriously have a special connection to eggs, rofl.

KarenPang 31st December 2015 11:05 AM

Yup you're right Marika , Kimura Kaela released a single titled EGG in Sept LOL

If that's not worst enough , flumpool's new tour title is called WHAT ABOUT EGGS? :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

Somehow I can foresee that their future concert goods might be breakfast inspired I don't know xD

#REDTEAMWINS
#REDTEAMWINS
#REDTEAMWINS the Kouhaku!!!

I'm NOT kidding. Akagumi ("red team", female vocalists) somehow upsetted the Kouhaku by the slimmest of margins!

Kohaku Uta Gassen 2015

Unfortunately, the Japan Times has reported that the mammoth TV event also hit the lowest it’s ever had in it’s 65 year history!
Seems Japan didn't really care for it this year
I hate how this show is like the big of the big. Its just a bunch of boy and girl bands now basically. No soul to there music :P

KarenPang 4th January 2016 04:05 AM

^ While I'm happy that the Red team won , it's bad that I solely watched Kouhaku just to see the Johnnys perform :x

And ironically , I enjoyed the Johnnys Countdown a lot more than Kouhaku which's not saying a lot . And I'm not surprised the ratings are so poor and it's the organiser committee's fault because I feel there were many other artistes who outright deserve to get invited and perform :x

And Aurore , heh I have no idea but I don't think Easter is a big occasion that's celebrated in Japan but I could be wrong

I have to agree. This is one of those signs why we're not really liking the current state of J-pop music. We're just tired of the same old AKB and Johnny's groups, we just want something that is truly different...

Even the Japan Record Awards' TV ratings declined as well. (>_<)

KarenPang 6th January 2016 03:58 AM

Yamapi should just go back to Johnny's Entertainment as Warner Music basically screwed up in marketing him since Day 1

And in a way it's a pity as some of the solo music Yamapi released under Warner has been some of his best but with the announcement of his 1st best album , officially shows how really bad Warner is when comes to marketing him :no

KarenPang 7th January 2016 12:09 PM

Apparently GACKT has plans to buy a house in my country oO

Does this mean he plans to migrate/live in Singapore in the near future ?

Rather random though

BREAKING: SMAP disbanding!?

Rumors are saying that SMAP may be disbanding.

Nikkan Sports is reporting that all members - except Takuya Kimura, the boy who made SMAP to what it is today (because of his role in the 1996 Fuji TV drama "Long Vacation") - are leaving the Johnny's agency, which literally means that SMAP could be "cleaning the house" (SMAP stands for the "Sports Music Assembly People", and the "cleaning house" term is common with sports whenever a sports team is struggling that they need to dump pretty much a lot of personnel, e.g. head coach, etc.)...in other words, SMAP could be disbanding really, really soon.

http://www.nikkansports.com/entertai...s/1591422.html
http://aramajapan.com/news/gossip/ha...sbanded/53909/

:teek

Wait, what?! SMAP IS DISBANDING!? Okay, I haven't been a guy who follows SMAP, but for a group that is very popular, that is really shocking to hear them disbanding - especially if they're disbanding very sudden like this! We didn't even expect this to happen - and it happened! (Much like the Minnesota Vikings' Blair Walsh 23-yard potential game-winning field goal suddenly goes missed wide left back on Sunday, something that everyone did not expect at all...)

Gosh, this is shocking. I'm very surprised this is happening. I mean, I'm not the only one - surely SMAP fans are really shocked about this! For a group that has been in J-pop for nearly three decades - and one that is very successful - I am in complete disbelief how in the world SMAP could disband in such an instant...

Disclaimer: Okay, I know this is a surprise news, but we have to assume that this is a rumor until the Johnny's agency CONFIRMS that SMAP is officially disbanding. But in any case, I'm really shocked and sad to hear SMAP disbanding. Especially after hearing that another member is about to leave KAT-TUN, the rumors of SMAP disbanding is simply disheartening to the Japanese music community... :(
