Arashi ni Shiyagare Renewal, Female Guests to Appear

Arashi's variety program Arashi ni Shiyagare broadcasted every Saturday 10pm on NTV has been renewed after the show began 3 and a half years ago. The first airing after the renewal on September 14 was broadcasted live and the guest is comedy duo Cream Stew, the same guest that appeared in the pilot episode on April 24 2010. So far the concept of the show was to guess who the guest were and to learn from veteran male guests the steps of formula in life to be taught.

After the renewal from now on the members would be informed of who the guests are beforehand, the guest would bring up a 「topic」 in advance which the members would brainstorm and research together which would be presented during the show. For the first renewal airing the members researched the agenda that Arita of Cream Stew brought up, which is 「Why is Ueda Shinya able to conquer the world?」 Arashi members then investigated numerous past historic episodes of Ueda from Cream Stew and dissolve the mystery of how he is able to take over the industry.

Also on this day viewers participated in the live voting via twitter during the airing, out of two projects suggested by Cream Stew. Between Ueda's 「Arashi members' location shooting in Kumamoto」 and Arita's 「Arashi members popularity general election」. Ueda's proposal was ultimately decided upon the winning of votes.

In the interview carried out immediately after the live broadcast, Ohno commented that 「It was refreshing to be able to know who the guests are beforehand and to create the show together」. Aiba remarked that 「It has been quite a while that we have live broadcast for our regular variety programs, it was over in a flash and i look forward to widen the width of the show with the appearance of female guests」. Matsumoto mentioned that 「I was happy that we are able to include the live performance (for regular broadcasting) and hopefully there would be future opportunities where we can sing and perform in the show」. In addition, when asked regarding female guests whom they want to come on the show, Ninomiya who is known to be a big fan of Takeuchi Yuko said enthusiastically 「When it was decided that she would take on the drama lead role on NTV, i thought "Hooray!". Probably she will come」.

Ueno Juri would appear in the next airing and in the future female guests are also planned to guest.

"Kagi no Kakatta Heya" To Return For A Special Drama Next Year

Arashi's Satoshi Ohno will be reprising his role as the security company employee, 'Kei Enomoto' who solves cases in enclosed rooms in the 2012 Fuji TV hit drama "Kagi no Kakatta Heya". The drama has received numerous recognition, sweeping television magazine grand pix awards last year including the Gold Medal award from the "US International Film and Video Festival 2013".

Written by Kishi Yusuke, the plot for the SP is based on his new work "Murder in the Country of Mirror" which will be published on November 12 and his unpublished one "The Two Enclosed Rooms".

Filming has started already according to reports. The characters of Erika Toda and Koichi Sato will also be returning in the SP set to air in 2014.

the "LOVE" covers are great! :) and the tracklist looks awesome, too!

i really can't wait to hear the solo songs because i really like the titles, especially matsujun's "Dance in the dark". such a cool title! :D i can't wait to hear the song. and i can't wait to hear ohno's "Hit the floor". and i think "sugar and salt" is a cute title for sho's solo. :P

i really can't wait for "LOVE". it's gonna be another amazing album from arashi!

2013 Best Jeanist Awards: Masaki Aiba enters the hall of fame, Rola wins in the women's division

Aiba Masaki becomes Best Jeanist for 3rd Consecutive Year

Among the members of Johnny’s Entertainment, SMAP’s Kimura Takuya, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, and KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya continued to be recognized. This year Matsumoto Jun placed 8th, and Ohno Satoshi placed 9th in the ranking. Aiba said, “The other members of Arashi have also entered in the ranking, but it would be nicer if you all followed me,” modestly hoping to being the best jeanist among Arashi.

- ARASHI went to New York specially just to learn the dance moves for the PV

- the choreographer for the P・A・R・A・D・O・X dance moves , he has worked with Beyonce before o_o & he's only 23 D:

When Ohno found out about this he was shocked as he lamented he's almost 10 years older than the choreographer since Ohno is 32 haha


- When asked who's the sexiest in the group , Ohno said it's MatsuJun (well duh) while he considered himself the most unsexy haha

But in all , ah can't wait to get my copy of LOVE next month & let alone in seeing/hearing the full P・A・R・A・D・O・X PV :luv2

What does Ohno Satoshi always order for takeout and why

On October 6th, “Nihon TV No. 1 Popular Programs Finals” was released; within this broad release a VTR submitted by Arashi was included in which there were quiz questions concerning Ohno Satoshi.

Within this program, 44 NTV shows participated, and the competition involved each show submitting a VTR. The VTR Arashi submitted was related to their program “Arashi ni Shiyagare,” and the VTR was a quiz video created by the show’s AD. The setting of the video was the dressing room, and each Arashi member had to answer a variety of questions. The following question was asked:

Q: Today, when it was time to order takeout, a hungry Ohno Satoshi asked for a certain something that he always orders. What could the item that Ohno Satoshi always orders be?

The correct answer:

Zaru Soba. When asked why he likes Zaru Soba, Ohno Satoshi tried really hard to explain, saying, “It arrives quickly, it is easy to eat, it can be eaten hot, and it’s not hard to obtain. It can be eaten cold too.” The staff that recorded the segment reacted dimly to his explanation which caused Ohno to react passionately, “Is that bad?” Matsumoto Jun and the other members laughed at his response.

Ninomiya Kazunari reveals the truth about the statement “I was scared of KAT-TUN”

On October 6th, Nihon TV’s program “Shuuichi” featured a video from Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari. Within this video, Ninomiya revealed the truth about the assertion he made in the past “I was scared of KAT-TUN.”

On May 29th, on the Nihon TV program “Nino san,” when Ninomiya Kazunari spoke the statement “I was scared of KAT-TUN,” he tried to take into consideration when he may have felt that, saying, “If I were to say, it was probably around the time they debuted that I felt scared of KAT-TUN.”

In October 6th’s episode of “Shuuichi” Ninomiya revealed the truth behind the statement of being scared of his juniors (kouhai), saying, “With people like Kamenashi-kun or Tananka Koki, something about them is scary, almost like they would threaten you for money. Something like that.” He even felt those feelings when listening to KAT-TUN’s debut song “Real Face.” Remarking about the lyrics “I always want to live on the edge” (giri giri de itsumo ikite itai kara), Ninomiya revealed, “‘No, I think it would be better if you didn’t live on the edge’ is what I always thought when listening. I would feel a little threatened by that phrase.”

Again, when talking about his relationship with Nakamaru Yuichi, who makes a regular appearance on “Shuuichi,” Ninomiya commented, “Generally if you were to define people getting along as taking the time out of the day to go eat together or go play around somewhere together, then no, we don’t get along. Though it’s a common joke we’ve lightly made over the last 10 years since we’re the same age.”

Also, when Ninomiya was asked to send a message to Nakamaru, he said, “If it is okay with you, and if you are watching this live broadcast, I would love to exchange phone numbers so it would be easy to contact each other. I really want to, if you are watching this live broadcast. So definitely if you can, let’s get along together (yoroshiku onegaishimasu)*.” He put Nakamaru on the spot and wowed the studio.

Nakamaru accepted this challenge from Ninomiya and revealed, “We have gone out to eat together before, but I still don’t have your contact information.” Nakamaru further replied, “Ninomiya-san, you generally use your manager, don’t you? I would love to exchange phone numbers with you, so let’s get along together(yoroshiku onegaishimasu)*.”

*yoroshiku onegaishimasu generally means ‘let’s get along together.’ With this exchange, in context, it is a kind of challenge, throwing responsibility on the other party.

Matsumoto Jun invited to visit Ohno Satoshi’s home for the first time in 14 years

On October 9th, Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun made an appearance in TBS’s program ‘Hanamaru Market,’ and he revealed that this year, for the first time, Arashi’s leader Ohno Satoshi invited him to his house. Matsumoto also got a glimpse of Ohno’s room.

Matsumoto was then asked by the host Yakumaru, “Have you ever gone out to eat with other Arashi members?”

Matsumoto said, “This year for the first time, I went to Leader’s (Ohno’s) house.” He confessed that this was the first time in the 14 years that Arashi was established that he went to Ohno’s house. He then continued, “It was just the two of us for about an hour. We lazed around for a bit, then we thought ‘well then shall we go eat together’ and went out to eat. We also went out for a drink. It was just the two of us the whole time.”

Matsumoto had, until this point, gone by Ohno’s house, but it seems he never went inside. This time, when Matsumoto saw a picture of one of the figures that Ohno had sculpted, he had conveyed some feelings when saying, “Oh- this is really amazing. If only I could see it for real.” Ohno had replied, “Okay,” which seemed to have brought about the circumstances.

When he was asked about the state of Ohno’s room, Matsumoto divulged, “I had the wrong assumptions. It was clean. Leader is amazing. There was a clean/uncluttered feel about the room.” By the way, after eating out together, the bill was split evenly between the two.

Ayase Haruka & Arashi chosen as hosts for this year's Kohaku

It was announced that Ayase Haruka and Arashi have been chosen as the hosts for NHK's annual New Year's eve music show, Kohaku Uta Gassen.

Although it will be the first time for Ayase, who will be supporting the red team, to participate in Kohaku as the host, for Arashi, this will be the 4th consecutive year to serve as the host on behalf of the white team. It was also announced that NHK announcer Udo Yumiko will be the general host.

At the press conference held on October 18th, Ayase who appeared in last year's Kohaku as a guest introducer for the artists' song, commented, "I am nervous. While getting advice from Arashi-san and Udo-san, I hope to be able to tell the wonderfulness of Kohaku. It is a big year event. Last year, I enjoyed it very much, but this year, I want to act flexibly and bravely."

Arashi members also left comments.

Sakurai Sho said, "I would like to send out the songs from the position of being the host."

Ohno Satoshi also added, "Until last year, our record was 2 wins, 1 defeat. I hope for the white team to win again, so that we could have a long lead against the red team."

Aiba Masaki commented, "It was Ayase-san who introduced our song performance last year. This year, we are enemies. We will give it all we've got.", to which Ayase responded, "You're quite obsessive about winning, aren't you?"

Ninomiya Kazunari also gave his own thoughts, "We've been getting support from people around us although we were inexperienced (as the host in previous Kohaku). It may be the first and last time for this 6 of us (with Ayase) to participate in Kohaku, so I would like to do our best."

When Matsumoto Jun was asked to give advice to Ayase, he humbly answered, "We're not good enough to give advice, but I hope for both red and while to unite efforts."

The 64th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will live broadcast on December 31st starting at 7:15 pm and run until 11:45 pm.

"LOVE" is a fantastic album! i love it! :heart

all the songs are just so amazing! my favorites are "Rock Tonight", "CONFUSION", "P.A.R.A.D.O.X", and "Starlight kiss". the solos are really awesome, too! i guess it's no surprise that my favorite solo is matsujun's, lol. :heart "Dance in the dark" is so fun to listen to, i just love it! and i really like ohno's solo, "Hit the floor", too. it's a very cool song. :D

i also just watched the full "P.A.R.A.D.O.X" PV & wow! :luv2 it's totally one of arashi best PVs ever! it's perfect! and the song is really amazing, too. i absolutely loved the dancing that arashi did in the PV. they looked so hot in their outfits, too! :love the whole PV is perfection, lol. seriously, the PV is amazing! i can't stop watching it! :laugh

Honestly , LOVE is not an easy album to get into but I can understand why out of the 8 group songs , P.A.R.A.D.O.X was the only song that got a PV as it's easily the best new song in the album

Solo wise , Aiba's unexpectedly the best as he never had a solo ballad before but he pulled it off quite well & of course Ohno can never go wrong

Even MatsuJun's solo is tolerable this time round but yeah the singles are the ones that hold quite a big weight in LOVE

I don't think LOVE will be my overall fave album of ARASHI but it's a bit different from their past albums which I think is not necessary a bad thing

'Shitsuren Chocolatier' to get a live-action drama adaptation starring Matsumoto Jun

Ishihara will be playing as "Takahashi Saeko" who Sota falls in love with.

It will be the first time in a year for Matsumoto and Ishihara to co-star with each other, since the two last appeared together in special drama "Lucky Seven" that aired back in January.

Along with Ishihara, the some of other cast members were also revealed that include Mizukawa Asami (as a beautiful older woman who opens a chocolate store with Sota), Mizobata Junpei (as Sota becomes best friend with in France. He is half Japanese and half French.), Mizuhara Kiko (as Sota's "friend with benefits".), and Arimura Kasumi (as Sota's younger sister.)

"Shitsuren Chocolatier" will air starting in January on Fuji TV (every Monday at 9:00 pm).

Sakurai Sho Appointed as Special Caster for Sochi Winter Olympics 2014

KAT-TUN to Join Sakurai Sho’s “Ima, kono kao ga sugoi!”

A new plan is reportedly on the works with TBS‘ “Ima, kono kao ga sugoi!” that is hosted by Arashi’s Sakurai Sho and Ariyoshi Hiroyuki. The said plan will start by Jan 9 next year.

In the said plan, KAT-TUN will team-up with Sakurai for the “Johnny’s team” as opposed with Ariyoshi’s “Celebrity Team” with Kano Eiko and Tomoharu Shoji. The two groups will appeal to 100 people who will decide on the winner. Sakurai is all “go for the win” and vow not to lose.

Arashi's Aiba Masaki to star in a live-action film adaptation of Nakamura Ko's novel

This is a live-action film adaptation of Nakamura Ko's novel "Debikuro-kun no Koi to Mahou", which uses Yamashita Tatsuro's masterpiece "Christmas Eve" as its motif.

The protagonist is a bookstore worker "Hikaru" (Aiba) who has a dream to be a Mangaka. Hikaru is a chicken but has a kind heart. At night, he passes out leaflets titled "Debikuro Tsushin."

Eikura Nana makes an appearance as Hikaru's childhood friend "Anna" who watches over Hikaru, and Korean actress Han Hyo-joo plays a world famous lighting designer named "So-yeon" who Hikaru accidentally encounters. Also, Ikuta Toma plays the role of a very popular Mangaka "Kitayama", who is a college classmate of Hikaru. The four will be involved in a love story.

The movie is directed by Inudo Isshin, who Aiba has previously worked with in the 2007 movie "Kiiroi Namida".

Aiba commented, "It is a love story with a fantasy element that is perfect for Christmas. Since my birthday is on Christmas Eve, I feel like being able to be a part of this movie is fate!"

Arashi's Matsumoto Jun plays the chocolatier and actress Ishihara Satomi the married woman. He commented on her role, "She is such a devilish woman and I thought that there is now way I could like someone like her. However, now that Satomi-chan is playing her, I'm starting to like it. I'm getting excited every time she turns into this devilish woman."

Throughout the drama, the protagonist has various odd fantasies about the woman he loves. Ishihara stated that they are quite extreme like her taking a chocolate bath at midnight. There are plenty such scenes where the protagonist imagines things while having a gross expression on his face. "I'm really troubled by those scenes and I was surprised at the faces Matsumoto-san can make," she commented.

At the event, they also reminisced about their Valentine's Day memories. Matsumoto revealed, "As a man I'm usually always on the receiving end, but there was also one year when I gave chocolate to a co-star of mine during the filming of a drama. It was an older woman." He later confessed that this woman was actress Koyuki and that it happened during the filming of their drama 'Kimi wa Petto' in 2003. "I was playing her pet and yet it was me who gave her chocolate. It would be normal for it to be the other way around and so she was really surprised. I was glad she liked it."

Ishihara also confessed, "During junior high, there was on older boy from two classes above me that I had a crush on all the time from my 1st to my 4th year. I made him chocolate every single year. In the 4th year I heard from one of his friends that he actually doesn't like chocolate and so I made him a madeleine that year."

The conference was also attended by Mizukawa Asami, Mizuhara Kiko, Mizobata Junpei, and Arimura Kasumi.

Bittersweet - too happy sounding for my liking :x maybe this will grow on me after I see the PV

Road to Glory - very Olympic/sports sounding , no wonder it was picked to promote next month's Winter Olympics in Sochi , Russia

Not very sure how the other 2 B-sides will be but I doubt Bittersweet will be a fave single of theirs but we'll see

Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari to star in new NTV drama as a teacher

That's the one thing I'm worried about.", however, he enthusiastically said, "I will work hard to make the drama together with the students, other teachers, and the staff members."

The drama tells the story of the protagonist who is diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called malignant lymphoma, and who, after meeting different people in the hospital, makes up his mind to "face a proper death". Ohno's junior Yamada Ryosuke from Hey!Say!JUMP also appeared in the drama as a youth with an artificial limb.

The Blu-ray for "Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara" was released on January 22 and sold over 15000 copies in its first week, topping Oricon's Weekly Drama Blu-ray rankings while coming in at second place in the overall Blu-ray rankings. This is also the highest number of Blu-ray volumes ever sold for any drama on the chart.

A reporter specializing in Johnny's commented, "Arashi's drama and magazines all sell really well, but when it comes to personal achievements, Ohno Satoshi is still the strongest. 'Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara' broke the record for the highest number of drama Blu-ray sold. The previous record was actually Ohno's drama 'Kagi no Kakatta Heya Blu-ray Box' (released in October 2012). He is basically refreshing the records by himself in this chart. (laughs)."

"Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara" DVD sold over 13000 copies in its first week and topped the weekly DVD ranking for the drama charts as well.

As Arashi's new single "Bittersweet", set to release on February 12, is most likely to land within Top 10 in the Oricon Yearly Charts, Arashi is indeed unstoppable in 2014 as well.

At Kirin Beer's new product "Shin Ichiban Shibori" launch, Arashi's Sakurai Sho and Ninomiya Kazunari appeared at the event as representatives of the group, who is Kirin's new CM personality. Just as Kirin is particular about the new beer's ingredients, Sakurai and Ninomiya were asked what they are most particular about in private.

----- As you know, "Shin Ichiban Shibori" is all about the ingredients. What are you most particular about?
Ninomiya: How to memorise lines.
Sakurai: This I want to know! How do you memorize them?
Ninomiya: Basically, I don't. (laughs) When you get to the filming location, you check the script and such. The script is made perfectly and there's no waste in forming accurate sentences, but when you actually talk, you don't speak in perfect sentences. In order to express that, I think it's better not to memorize everything.
Sakurai: That is great advice. I see. I am the kind that tends to memorize everything. I guess it's different for everyone. We film at different locations, so we don't really know how other members spend their time during filming.

------ How about Sakurai-san?
Sakurai: My schedule on off-days. There are probably a lot of people who prefer not to plan their off-days, but I have to. Yesterday too. I planned to go shopping at 1.30pm. However, if I reach 1:28pm, I get really happy. (laughs)
Ninomiya: How about 1:25pm?
Sakurai: That's a bit too early. If it's 1:32pm, it's a bit too late. 1:28pm feels just right.
