I'd love a colab with Kuu, Hikki or Kyary. I wouldn't stand a colab with AKB or any other massive group.

I can imagine a colab with Perfume, that'd be cool, i think.

And I'd REALLY love a colab with MINMI due to personal reasons xD

KillTime111 21st February 2014 11:05 PM

Get ready for some rapping Ayu :p

adantatu2 22nd February 2014 01:34 AM

Is rap just speak fast ?

brener 22nd February 2014 04:00 AM

^

I was wondering that, and I really don't think that Ladies Night should be classified as a rap tune >>

I think its more than that. if its just "speaking fast" the its total garbage. It should have proper rythm to make sense IMO.

anna_ayu 22nd February 2014 01:14 PM

I´m not sure about Ayu and rap... But I pay to see, I will give a chance to her...

Irish_Ayu_Fan 22nd February 2014 05:13 PM

Loving Ayu's vocals in the preview but the song doesn't sound all that good, hopefully there'll be a better preview soon!

Andrenekoi 22nd February 2014 05:23 PM

Wikipedia
Quote:

Rapping (also known as rap music, emceeing,[1] MCing,[1] spitting (bars),[2] or rhyming[3]) refers to "spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics".[4] The art form can be broken down into different components, as in the book How to Rap where it is separated into "content", "flow" (rhythm and rhyme), and "delivery".[5] Rapping is distinct from spoken word poetry in that it is performed in time to a beat.[6][7]
I think Fly High and Ladies Night does count for rapping as far as pop music goes, and she is far better at that than some "professional" rappers (a.k.a. Macklemore)

yoshino 24th February 2014 12:17 PM

Oh well..so now Ayu into collab? I'm not that fond of that though. haha.

DonkeyKongRemix 26th February 2014 12:19 AM

....Nothing from Nothing is actually a favorite album of mine...I know it's probably totally different than what this'll sound like, but I have faith. I've been wondering if she'd ever rap again... EXCITED!!

taskinillusion 26th February 2014 01:41 AM

^ From what I could hear in that video, Nothing From Nothing immediately came to my mind. It sounded different from her usual stuff in that she sounded more like she did during Nothing From Nothing. :yes

She collaborated with m-flo for Merry-go-round, and this was a result of that.

ALfromHELLSING 26th February 2014 03:22 AM

New song, sweet! Sounds nice too

tokyoxjapanxfan 26th February 2014 07:47 PM

m-flo's collab with Taeyang was uploaded a few days ago, so hopefully we get something with Ayu soon. :)

Mmmmhh...

I'm still reluctant to be content with the "Together When..." digital release. We've never got a higher bitrate of the instrumental version. Instead we are severely stuck with the 192kbps rag. Truth be told, I couldn't tell the difference between this and a lossless version whatsoever, so I'm solely longing for a CD version for the sake of my ludicrous "I've archived everything in best possible audio quality"-satisfaction.

I would love some more songs like those!

brener 27th February 2014 03:27 AM

looks like m-flo's new album will be purely western EDM influenced stuff, I hope it will chart well, Avicii's album is doing quite great on Oricon, it sold already 43,581 copies and it's enjoying good longevity.

I can slightly hear it in the chorus but what did you expect? That's how EDM is. Go Crazy is still a beautiful song, either way. I should definitely look into getting this album from m-flo...It's sounding great.

I don't know, don't really listen to EDM. I like the song nevertheless.

Nice!
"I will always be the queen" :luv2:luv2:luv2

Zeke. 5th March 2014 04:59 AM

I don't like that "I will always be the queen". It sounds so vein. Self-proclamation like that isn't attractive. Nicki Minaj and trash can get away with it but that looks isn't good on Ayu.

And the "I know that you want this" part is also seriously awkward coming from her. Lol, Kumi can pop a coochie like that but ayus sexiness works best when it's shown through persona or attitude (my names women, BoY, Microphone).

tasking 5th March 2014 05:16 AM

I was about to bash the holy hell out of this song - then Ayu sang "I will always be the queen" and started rapping. Officially flipping out.

marcoba 5th March 2014 05:38 AM

The song is perfect!!, and Ayu's voice (raping and singing is amazing) I though I'll hate it. . . guess not lol.

holy_arrow 5th March 2014 05:54 AM

Love it <3

holy_arrow 5th March 2014 06:01 AM

this song may be included in her new album ! :P

Andrenekoi 5th March 2014 06:21 AM

^It most likely won't... Usually her collabs don't end up on her albums...

Yuniz_hime 5th March 2014 07:03 AM

I like it

NintendoHTF1242 5th March 2014 07:45 AM

HOLY SHIT THE BEAT IS ON FIRE!! Love it!

Ayu's singing part was gorgeous, and omg her rap!! GET IT GURL OMG!

~kashifaita~ 5th March 2014 07:46 AM

I absolutely love it. Holy poop.
It took a while to warm up to though lol.
Like the chorus sounded so...ok then BAM rap
And i was like "AYU?????"

She's never really done this kind of thing before (at least since NfN, I guess)
So I really like the direction she took here~

chikocchi 5th March 2014 07:53 AM

Can't stand it :\

jyujiw 5th March 2014 08:06 AM

"I will always be the queen" :heart

Hahaha Ayu, always surprising us. Sounds refreshing.

I hope she tries even more different things in the new album and don't be afraid of the reception. The interview about changing all the concept when she arrived in France made me quite worried. It sounded that she thought about making an album full of new things and temptations, which IMO is a good thing, but now she's thinking about bringing the old Ayu back because apparently people liked "Pray". Oh dear... I don't understand the majority of her fans...

When she's doing new things -> "bring me the damn old Ayu back"
When she's not doing new things -> "dear, does Ayu's music never changes? She needs to reset her image and sound!"

Takakayu 5th March 2014 08:17 AM

This is great. Ditch the already-dated EDM and do this sort of tracks more please.

roanmy 5th March 2014 08:35 AM

I really don't like the style of the song, and I agree her self-proclamation seems a bit strange. However, her voice sounds very nice in this song. :)

tenshi no hane 5th March 2014 08:50 AM

I need time to get used to her rapping :laugh But I love the singing parts <3

It's a game in Rap and urbain music, don't be so serious, everybody do it (Kumi or Namie too ha ha !), that's cool and funny =)

WELL...I'm crazy about this song, the mix between ballade anr rap is amazing, very good job, finally something new for Ayu !

ayuuk 5th March 2014 09:06 AM

From the one minute preview, no special feelings... LOL

rainbow_smile 5th March 2014 09:12 AM

I'm happy that she's doing something new! Her vocals are soooo good! And rapping is not as childish as in NFN, though still cute :D

But I wasn't fond of the instrumental. I grew a bit tired of this kind of music after it was overdone G-Dragon and CL...

YUKARI 5th March 2014 09:17 AM

it sounds soo unusual yet so mainstream. I'm not sure if I like it.

tokyoxjapanxfan 5th March 2014 09:17 AM

I think the best thing about this is that she has nothing in her discography remotely close to this kind of sound, and that's exciting.

I'm very interested in the full song. :)

errikkutrancex 5th March 2014 09:36 AM

what a...sh**iit ! :( this is a real poor song. She can really do better than this slow tempo already heard song... (at her begining with m.c.A.T she was really better cause the song was better too)

Tom Punks 5th March 2014 09:49 AM

omg it's...
nvm i don't have anything nice to say

well the chorus is okay at least.

x-megumi-x 5th March 2014 10:23 AM

I really like the preview, it's good to finally hear something new and different coming from her! Her vocals in the chorus are great too.
Can't wait for the full song!

Surreal17 5th March 2014 10:57 AM

wow! so unexpected! ayu's rapping reminds me of NOTHING FROM NOTHING for sure and I really like her singing. Can't wait for the full song! I love when ayu is experimenting with her music.
This year seems so unusual for ayu's standards and I love it!

ayumisrael 5th March 2014 11:47 AM

Omg that song sounds awesome!!! Longer preview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QMgr2qhA8U

"I will always be the queen". Got it right m-flo and ayu.

Never thought ayu would be so great at this.

Really excited!!

brener 5th March 2014 12:18 PM

:OMG I LOVED IT!!! :heart

waterballoon 5th March 2014 12:27 PM

wow wow she sounds so different i love it, sick beats!

Benikari47 5th March 2014 12:54 PM

I applaud her for doing something totally new and different, but i can't say i'm liking this.
Her part was actually decent, but that's one lazy ass beat which totally drags down her delivery.. sounds like some 5$ version of a Rihanna song.

The "I will always be the queen" part is gold though <3

ExodusUK 5th March 2014 01:31 PM

Yes Ayu tell 'em!!!!! Slay mama. Always the queen until one of those hoes can exceed her total sales as the best selling solo artist.

My Rainbow 5th March 2014 01:32 PM

I like it!

It's different and I appreciate that!

Yoake 5th March 2014 01:56 PM

awful. This song is even worst than merry go round. Don't like the rap, don't like the cheap arrangement. The sound itself isn't new, it sounds early 2000s a lot. I really hope she isn't taking this way for her new album. And I hope she won't put this song on her album.

freedreamer 5th March 2014 01:59 PM

its NOT her song..omg chill out.

im going insane on her vocals LOL!!! It sounds superbly smooth!!!

Taishaku 5th March 2014 02:12 PM

It sounds like a 2NE1 song! I like it!!! :)

kinix 5th March 2014 02:13 PM

I like the way she sings in this song. Soft and smooth, not over emotional till there's a little scream. Kinda reminds me of the way she sings in the past. Not over exerting.

visionfactory 5th March 2014 02:28 PM

She will always be the queen! :heart

Ayusan 5th March 2014 02:52 PM

Crappy music, rapping is a no no no (sound too much as a duck), clear voice is surprisingly smooth. I'm glad she got a revelation in Paris and won't make an album full of that kind of sh*itty music!
Merry go round wasn't good, but at last it was a bit decent but there.... oh well, all is good as long we don't have it on an album.

Ruan Borges 5th March 2014 03:28 PM

JUST LOVED, I'm totally here for that!!! Love urban music, and she smash it!

And come on, it's not like she will release a RnB album, it's just a colab, chill out.

ayumisrael 5th March 2014 03:32 PM

I'm totally here for that too and I wouldn't mind ayu would go towards that style and make it better and with powerful up beat club stuff, not just more mid-tempoish psuedo club ones like this, but it's awesome too, 1 or two like this wouldn't hurt.

IT'S NOT HERS though, she just took part in the singing, other then that it's m-flo's and she had nothing else to do with it.

holy_arrow 5th March 2014 03:56 PM

This is My Way (ForAver club version) :

They did very well for the short to longer version ! <3

chocopockymaster 5th March 2014 03:59 PM

I am completely and utterly obsessed with this song. I wasn't feeling it at the beginning but when ayu's part kicked in I was SOLD. Her lyrics and her rap are great (you go Ayu coco, 4 for you Ayu coco), and her vocals sound incredible. I'm definitely gonna have this on repeat when the album drops and we get the full version!!!

Zeke. 5th March 2014 04:25 PM

Ayu is not urban. Seriously, that would be the epitome of horror if she seriously pursued that style more. Urban hip hop trash is basically all about self absorption and so cynical. "I'm the greatest. I'm the best." Etc. no thanks.

very new from Ayu...i can't say i like it or not..but this is very different...

Livey~ 5th March 2014 05:05 PM

Waiting for the full version~

YUKARI 5th March 2014 05:09 PM

hmm I think I like her singing in this song.

I think the song would be better without m-flo :P

Kazeyomi 5th March 2014 05:54 PM

I really really like it!
I love when she's trying something new :heart maybe isn't the greatest j-urban song I ever heard, but I like it. Her singing voice is.. woah, she sounds so good! Her rapping voice is nice, imho her voice is a bit too much nasal for rap but it reminds me a lot NOTHING from NOTHING, so yeah it's cute.

Btw I don't get why people get panicked about this song :shrug. Geez guys, it doesn't mean she will be a urban singer from now on lol. It's just a collaboration.

NintendoHTF1242 5th March 2014 06:12 PM

I hope Ayu collaborates with m-flo for her entire next album to piss off everyone.

Of course, I'll be happy because this is my shit right now. Kill it, Ayu. Show those basic bitches wassup!

marty 5th March 2014 07:12 PM

Woooooo, I looooove this!!! :heart

Didn't expect to like but it's actually good!

Mari-chan 5th March 2014 07:55 PM

Well... she singing Part is.. Ok.. her voice sounds nice.
But.. I don't like the rest of the song. And sorry.. but I think, her Rap isn't really good.
No... I don't like it. What a luck.. it is not her song. But I also never liked "Dream on". This kind of songs don't fits to her.

toLOVE 5th March 2014 08:14 PM

I'm happy that she's trying something, but the song's boring. The beats really weak. I want something stronger.

truehappiness 5th March 2014 08:23 PM

Did Ayu write this song or did m-flo write it for her?

Keep in mind that there is a certain goal with the album's sound. That one part in the end of the longer preview has a Namie-ish feel to it. Her voice is so gorgeously clear.

It's good but very VERY different from what she's ever done before. I appreciate that there are a lot of layers to this track. I'm hoping for a My Way (Solo ver.) on the album.

Change = fear, for some.

I have no doubt that m-flo is behind the composition, but the lyrics have a definite Ayu feel to them, so I would be surprised if she didn't guest-write her portion of the lyrics. Maybe VERBAL helped her out with the rap bit? haha

Zeke. 5th March 2014 08:55 PM

I don't think it's bad to dislike change, especially big change. Say if you like a certain artist because of they style of music they make, it's not illogical that you won't like it when they cease to make that style.

For example, if you're a fan if a country music or folk music star, and then all of a sudden that artist makes an all out club-banger, you aren't going to like it.

I'm fine with the release myself. But urban is not something I ever want her to pursue continually. That's what Namie and Kumi are for. And they own it way better than ayu can or ever will.

stickyrice 5th March 2014 09:01 PM

I actually really like it....

I honestly would love if she ventured more into Rnb/hip hop. Her rapping however (while not horrible at all)... Isn't something I would want her to continue with lol

marty 5th March 2014 09:05 PM

It kind of depens on how well you can own a style.
Ayu jumped from this genre to that since the very beginning of her career. It shouldn't surprise us she's doing it again. It's like with NEXT LEVEL or Party Queen, aka the fact she's trying new stuff doens't mean she's going to drop ballads and rock pieces.
Did she EVER drop ballads and rock pieces before? Nope. Did she change countless times? Yep.
Basically because she's trying, not really changing.
Imo she's one of those singers whom can give their soul to every song (mostly because they take part in choosing the songs).

truehappiness 5th March 2014 09:14 PM

Ayu isn't really known for just doing one thing. If anything, she's known for playing with everything. She has things that remain consistent but there are also things that are pretty far beyond her usual sound.

Actually, on recent years they do more electro rather than urban (and it's understandable since it's more popular on recent years), but ayu pretty much owns in the electro, and that's just thinking on Sparkle alone. It's just that ayu doesn't do enough of it... Most of ayu's recent stuff were rock, mid tempo and ballads with an electronic song occassionly. I think she needs an album with more up beat or electro stuff, or not necessarily electro, but I actually like this m-flo song so I wouldn't mind some songs of that style. And Feel the love, personally for me, is a slayer as well.

Oh and Wake me up. Yes, ayu slays on the j-electronic pop scene. Even if she does it less than the peers and differently from yasutaka nakata and perfume or even a bit different than western usual electro club hit. The "problem" is that her albums are not full of these stuff.

cosmicfirefly 5th March 2014 09:16 PM

I love her vocals here, but the rap part sounds so cute I can't help laughing every time. I hope on her next album her signing vocals sounds as smooth.

untitled-for-her 5th March 2014 09:20 PM

Her actual singing is really good and she's hitting some high notes without sounding like she's in discomfort. So that's awesome. But I can't take her seriously when she raps. She just sounds too cute. Haha! Hopefully, I can warm up to this.

The problem is Ayu's attempts at EDM are always 5 years late. Every EDM track she tries is dated long before she even releases it... Wake me up is so 2008 it's almost painful.

Wake me up was done for a while before they actually released it.

It doesn't matter if it still sounds that good! It's like you will stop listening to music that was released before 2014. The dated thing is overrated. People still love A Song for xx and that was "dated" even at the time as well.

As long as the song are slayers, from what year the style is, doesn't really matter. She can release an 80s EDM for all I care. If it sounds good it's welcome in my book.

Besides, I wouldn't exaggerate with Wake me up, it doesn't sound that old. With Feel the love, it has beats that I'm sure that even David Guetta still uses nowadays. It's just that they don't make it sound like what are on the radios, or Rihanna-style. And maybe it's better, since maybe it's a sound ayu wants for herself, for others it can sound dated, or whatever. Dunno. Feel the love doesn't sound like JLO's Waiting for tonight.

I actually don't mind music sounding dated generally. LOL I love the production on my name's WOMEN for example even though it too was 5-6 years behind in a lot of respects. Wake me up is just too generic for my taste, coupled with the fact that it was a leftover from 5 years prior makes it being dated somewhat unforgivable to me. I'd love if Ayu did an 80s throwback song, though. I'd kill for it tbh.

I think Ayu's main thing is that she needs to push the arrangers harder or demand something else from them, because the lyrics are there... the compositions are there... but then the 'sound' could probably use some freshness. I think that's probably why a lot of people enjoyed Love songs since it was a fusion of her usual Ayu sound and the Komuro feel.

I'm really liking what I'm hearing! Her voice sounds great on the chorus - can't wait to hear the full version. And maybe we'll get a PV?

The most likely scenario is a lyric video, I think.

She does jump around genres and always has, but it's more like incorporating elements into the Hamasaki ayumi sound.

Namie and Ku have been doing electro, but they still sprinkle in a little ghetto in the mix now and then.

Wake me up I do not believe was finished or "leftover" entirely. I believe the composition was lying around for a while and she finally decided to bring light to it. Not like it was set to go on a harddrive somewhere. I do believe she said that was the case with another track on LOVE again though...?

That being said, I feel Wake me up is one of her best songs. It's has the attitude of Sparkle, that Hamasaki Ayumi powerhouse fierceness, while still managing to sound innovative. She's had electronic elements in many of her songs, but Eake me up was just slightly different enough to set it apart.

=> It certainly was the most modern sounding production she's released in a LONG time that still sounded like her persona of classic material. The rest of LOVE again had very flat and stale arrangements.

Ugh, let Ayu do new things, this is "Party Queen" all over again. >.< Ya'll just a bunch negative bitches loljk

If Ayu does something out of ordinary people complain. If Ayu stick to her usual style, people complain. For short, she's f***ed either way.

It has to grow on me but I'm glad she's trying something different. :)

am i the only one that thinks she sounds absolutelly stunning during chorus. Her voice is so...easy on the ears and light. I love it. The song is not my cup of tea for sure, but i am hoping to hear more of her voice like that. Stunning. I might just be cutting of the chorus and the singing parts out & playing that on repeat xD

also i don't want her to stick to ballads or rock songs or whatever, i want her to stick to being epic and awesome.PERIOD.

Oh my goodness...

When she's singing, she sounds heavenly. Her vocals are really good here. But, when she starts to rap... I can deny that an uncontrollable burst of laughter escapes me every single time. It's just so weird to hear! I like it though! I love it when she tries new things. :)

LOL the people that dictate what genres Ayu should be doing are totally missing the message of the song~ she will always be the queen and she'll do it her own way~

About the "dated" sounding: let's put Xtina's Back to Basics into the trash then... :puke

Geez, music doesn't really have a date if it's good enough to stand out.
