These are soo different from what I was expecting!! I did not expect the "girls just wanna have fun" in XOXO, but after the 3rd time listening to the preview it grew on me. Angel sounds even more western to me than XOXO, and I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. I LOVE What is forever love, it's giving me Madonna Confessions on a Dance Floor vibes. NOW & 4EVA seems like it's definitely the rock track, the first song I thought of was identity. At first I thought Terminal would be rockish, but that sounds like it will pick up after the preview. Lelio sounds super cool, though I wish I knew what Lelio meant.

These sound so different from Pray and Hello new me, I wonder how she's going to arrange them on the album without interludes. I can't wait for it!! I hope the cover reflects the feel of the dance songs.

Lelio & What is forever love... I'd swear I heard Koda Kumi. There is something with that pitch... I dunno.
I don't hear a 'maintance of the ayumi hamasaki sound' at all. It's so different.

But, I like the previews, this is going to be a great album. It's so new and refreshing, can't stop loving it.

the most impressive is XOXO, but it also sounds like the songs on my Spotify playlist. in fact these new previews sound like Calvin Harris and the like.. it's EDM, so what gives.

there's one song, What is forever love.. sounds so cheesy lol I'd probably enjoy it but it sounds like a N' SYNC song or something mixed with EDM sounds

I really like Terminal, and NOW & 4EVER sounds nice, very Ayu.

The rest were all kinda... annoying? Her voice was a bit shrill, they needed some grittiness to counter that. Might improve with the full versions and quality though. What is forever love does not need the random dude. It makes it sounds like a random boy band song.

It's definitely going to be an interesting album.

Terminal seems the likeliest to get skipped over. It tends to be the more interesting tracks sadly that don't get performances.

It's so strange having these previews and no idea what the title of the album is.

Angel is the only preview that sounds absolutely terrible. I like NOW & 4EVA the best. What is forever love sounds like an AAA song and Naoya isn't helping lol. The vocals in Angel and whatever she is saying sounds awful.

All the preview aren't good but I'm more happy than what I thought when I saw her collab' project.

XOXO and Angel are really american songs as I feared. Angel sounds as a bad remix of a RnB ballad. At that moment, I don't like what I'm hearing. However, XOXO sounds nice in spite of its westernization.

Lelio sounds repetitive and has a remix feeling more than an original song feeling. I need to hear more of this song to have a final view about it. Terminal sounds nice but it's so short that I can't say anything more.

NOW & 4EVA is the one I love the more. Its rocks!!!Yay. I was surprise to hear that what is forever love was a duet. I like it in spite of its simplicity.

NOW & 4EVA is sooo animeish! I love it! It's really like an ending/opening song to some anime. I have a soft spot for this type of songs. Terminal has some nervous t.A.T.u vibe, this song doesn't make me want to hear it again. XOXO sounds like a song that Katy Perry would sing. Angel is definitely annoying. Lelio is very catchy, but her vocals are too high-pitched, as if she's trying to make her voice sound higher/cuter.

If there is anything that can be said for sure, ayu really did try to do something different. Like, a step that's dangerous to take.

But I'm really glad she has :) even if I don't think every preview is perfect. That's what happens when people try different things, new producers

Damn Angel had a lot of potential. I love the melody but the arangement is way too...dancey? I adore the guitars tho, i wish they would be more prominent that what they are. With different arrangement, like more of the rock side it could have been an amazing song.

Angel sounds absolutely horrible, her voice made me cringe so much but Lelio seems to have potential, it sounds really intense and definitely interesting, it can go either way.

NOW & 4EVA sounds like classic Ayu but the kind i haven't heard for a while, really refreshing! I'm digging the slight Anime tones, really nice.

BUT Terminal & What Is Forever Love are the only previews that made me truly excited, Terminal sounds so haunting and like it's building up to something AMAZING! XOXO was just there, not bad nor good.

Overall i'm intrigued but not completely sold on the sound, i hope she never does something like Angel again lol. At least this isn't a borefest like LOVE Again :P

Angel sounds like what I hear in the club when I'm high on crack/alcohol

I think Angel could be better if the beat was sped up a bit. The sound is almost too loud/big for the tempo. Terminal reminds me of Zedd's Clarity in the sense that the vocals sound pleading through a dance-y beat. I actually am excited about the full version of What is forever love. It sounds decently produced which is something I have missed from Ayu's recent work. And Leilo is stuck in my head in a good way.

"I wanna be an angeeeel-oh oh oh-oh oh oh for yoou", dear lord, Ayu, while your English has improved it still sounds like a teenage girl singing in the shower. "Angel" is definitely my least favorite out of these previews.
"Terminal" sounds exactly as dark and dramatic as I expected and hoped it would be, I'm looking forward to hearing it in full.
"Lelio" sounds like an awesome dance track, the way the title word is sung it makes me think it's a warped pronunciation of "radio", but maybe it's just nonsense, like singing la-la-la but in cooler, club-ier sense.
"NOW & 4EVA" sounds alright, it reminds me a bit of "MY ALL", but aside from that I'm having trouble getting a grip on what the song makes me feel and think.
"What is forever love" is also alright, but the composition feels underwhelming. All I could think of during the preview was that I wanted a heavy bass beat and some synth sounds in there, but the vocals sound good at least.
Also listened to the "Hello new me" preview (I hadn't listened to any previews of the song before, because I wanted it fresh for when I bought the single but the single isn't available on int'l iTunes yet so...), and it sounds like a cute ballad, not necessarily bad but not at all exciting from what I've heard.
All in all, I'm really looking forward to this album. :yes
EDIT: Oh shit, I didn't even notice the "XOXO" preview. The composition feels a bit underwhelming in this one as well, but it sounds alright. The preview was much too short for me to get a proper feeling for it, though, but one thing I'm feeling sure about is that the English actually sounded good in this one.

Terminal, Leilo and XOXO sound great so far (my favorite from the previews) the other sound like they will be good at all. Me is stocked.

Well, i think this year's stage is the most perfect stage for such music and Ayu will utilize it in fantastic way I'm sure. As for previews i feel "so so" for now but we will see ;) I can't wait for full versions cause previews don't give the clear picture as we know.

Angel — I'm probably the only one here most excited about this cut. I'm positive this is Darkchild. Electro-R&B. This might be the PV with the crosses and bizarro set. The vocals are kind of unsettling, but I think that's what makes it so interesting for me.

Lelio — Like the energy so far. This sounds like it could be the "club banger" of the album.

NOW & 4EVA — It's like "Tell all" style "rock" where it's pretty much all programmed instruments. Very synth-heavy. The melody and vocal stylings remind me a lot of B'z for some reason.

Terminal — Someone said it sounds like something on "Duty." I agree. Very ethereal. I hope the "drop" doesn't disappoint.

What is forever love — I like this so far, but I can't bring myself to like Urata... ever. I wish she got JUNO instead. Hopefully his presence is only in the chorus. Odd that the track title doesn't have "featuring Urata Naoya" or anything...

XOXO — Girl anthem? The gyaru's would probably eat this shit up, lol. I could actually see this in the encore section at her concerts.

Hey, honestly, I might have no taste, but I just fell in love with Angel. :D That one, along with Terminal, is my highest hope for now.
Actually, my excitement almost vanished when I saw the songs' titles, but it's back now, twice as bad. Just give me these two! It seems we will get the full songs really early this time, tho. Her habits are changing with this album, and that itself is kind of interesting.
As for me, Ayu has accomplished the task of making something fresh. EDM is not my cup of tea, but she managed to convince me.

I made a list of female solo acts' last album sales so we can try to figure out what numbers we may expect for this new album.. I pick the soloists that had the most expressive sales between 2013-2014. I didn't list albums released on 2012 becuase we know how sales are declining year by year then it wouldn't be fair to compair a 2014 release with a 2012 one. If you guys have any sugestion, feel free to add it.

My guesses are something around 50k and 70k. I might put ayu between Kumi and Miliyah.

ps: aiko will release her new studio album on May 28 and she usually sells over 100k, so she's a name to consider. Kyarypamyupamyu will release her new studio album on July 9, a week after ayu's.

pps: I didn't list Remix Albums, Cover Albums and Collab Albums due to the fact that ayu's next album will be a Studio Album.
