The flowers chosen for the cover (Matthiola) are referred to as "stock" flowers. (That's their general name haha) and their meaning in the Japanese flower language (Hana kotoba) is "eternal love", "bonds of love", "eternally beautiful", "rich love", etc.

The preview of Voyage is amazing! The mash-up is done very well, and I am very impressed. :)

What's the competition for this release?? I wonder if it can manage to sell as good as A Classic did, I mean, Valentine's Day is two weeks later so maybe that will help =)

Aderianu 14th January 2015 06:32 AM

fanmade Voyage and Pride classic mashups

Earth_maiden 14th January 2015 08:53 AM

The previews sounds really nice, I'm relativity excited for this release.

Those fanmade are quite old, like from the time that classical album was announced.
What a coincidence, Voyage + Pachelbel's Cannon :laugh

hayasaki 16th January 2015 10:58 PM

I've always been thinking that Voyage could fit well will Canon because of their chord similarities. :) Can't wait for this release.

Even had I start talking whether it's going to get #1 or not, I doubt it's going to get #1...this is not a standard studio album! This is a bit more of the hardcore fans, so if you think this is going to be a #1 release...NO. :no

Well she doesn't care about the #1 spot. She's basically fan orientated now anyways. + I think a lot of her sales get done online. It would be nice to see her online count added since the whole cd market is basically dead now compared to before online sales came about, well its basically dead in the west with major shops stopping stocking cds in stores. Though I think her last classic album did well for what it was. It will most likely get a higher ranking online over physical sales

ALfromHELLSING 19th January 2015 03:34 PM

Sounds okayish. Kinda reminds me of sweetbox's You Can't Hide, where they didn't mix classical piece and Jade Valerie is just signing over the original classical tune. I wonder how the rest of Ayu's tracks will turn out.
Spoiler:

DonkeyKongRemix 19th January 2015 04:01 PM

I like that beat they have in Days. I'm really liking this CD.

I wish they could've added like three new songs on it. OH WELL! I'll probably still really enjoy it, nonetheless.

stickyrice 19th January 2015 04:21 PM

I don't know what it is but something sounds very... karaoke-ish about Days lol almost "cheap" sounding if that makes sense :\ It's still nice though, I suppose.

BlackSilence 19th January 2015 09:07 PM

I realy would have loved if she put Last minute into this. I really love when they give a song a totally oposite aproach in terms of arrangements.

as for days, i'll just put it here as well.
i am really enjoying these! GORGEOUS.

they didn't use the usual famous part of the Winter sequence of it though.... WHICH IS GOOD. and also i found the usual drums and bass that they added, to be quite an unusual approach for a classical arrangement. But it works really well!

I agree. I think that unlike Voyage, the instruments are synthetized.
It certainly doesn't sound like a real orchestra.

TheRainbow 19th January 2015 09:15 PM

Yeah, I don't like this one as much as Voyage--I find the A CLASSICAL version better.

TheRainbow 25th January 2015 08:40 PM

I'm really interested in YOU and TO BE--the original acoustic version of TO BE is great, but I'd love to hear it with an orchestra. The piano version of YOU never worked for me though, so hoping this one's incredible.

Sunrise 25th January 2015 08:44 PM

Going to hold off on listening to any leaks until my copy arrives. First time I've tried to do that, hope I can do it haha

orangeakira 25th January 2015 09:07 PM

I wonder why they chose to do a classical mashup album instead of a regular classical/acoustic orchestra album. Not that I'm complaining, but what made them think to do something like this?

Ayu, forget this song, like, forever. Put it aside with You & Me and THANK U.

tsumekaze_ 27th January 2015 02:07 PM

The album looks awesome. Virgin road is the best track hands down

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th January 2015 02:51 PM

WOW. I didn't have faith in this, but after the previews of all the tracks, WOWWWW

prussian blue 27th January 2015 03:29 PM

Am I the only who hate the whole idea? they just force two different songs into a song.

Voyage is the only song that fit pretty well

BlackSilence 27th January 2015 03:41 PM

after listening to previews, they all sound nice, but nothing stands out for me in particular. It is a very sweet and lovely release. I don't think i can dislike it.

Virgin road for me had potential the drums they added sounds quite cheap. This song could be a really grand thing with the melody that it has, originally but they didn't do it justice neither way with original nor this, it still sounds really bland and flat and repetitive. That chorus has so much power, but none seems to use it. it doesn't sound far from the original. In fact i think i like the original better and it isn't very good. I hope the arrangemnt they did for it here builds up, cuz now it's making me sleepy.

Also HONEY, that song in general needs to be deleted from Ayu's disscography, together with Thank U lol these probably are only 2 songs i just cannot stand, they are so annoying, i don't even want them to exist.

ExodusUK 27th January 2015 03:53 PM

TO BE is so nice..though it's hard to ruin such a great song <3

KPL 27th January 2015 05:13 PM

YOU is so nicely mixed with the classical piece too

js_surrealism 27th January 2015 05:32 PM

Don't get the Honey hate. It's a well-written song, with strong hooks all round. This classical mashup version sounds strange cos they transferred the whole vocal track complete with autotuned harmony over, but the original version was great.

The idea behind this album is nice but I really wish she had picked some other songs. SEASONS is so overused and already had such a superior 'classical' version on the A Classical album. She has SO MANY MORE BALLADS TO CHOOSE FROM!! Endless sorrow, Moments, No way to say, HEAVEN?!?!?! Sigh. What a waste.

NintendoHTF1242 27th January 2015 05:46 PM

It's already been stated that this is an album about pure love. That's why we don't see sad tracks like Endless sorrow or HEAVEN on it. It's like a cute album for Valentine's Day coming around the corner.

chocopockymaster 27th January 2015 06:21 PM

omg I'm actually really enjoying this version of HONEY???? It suffers from the "over-synthed" syndrome that the rest of the album seems to but I find myself not really minding, it's like a fun little album so whatev. who am I @__@

TheRainbow 27th January 2015 07:30 PM

I wish the instruments (specifically guitars and drums) sounded less programmed. YOU is not too good imo and SEASONS is messy. It's nice so far, but too artificial.

xLuna&1LOVE 27th January 2015 07:37 PM

The idea is pretty well executed, however they have changed the original pieces SO MUCH they are barely recognisable. I would be happy to hear the instrumental versions, but this is what I will listen one time and never again. Eventhough it sounds nice.

rickyspelbos 27th January 2015 07:40 PM

I'm really loving this release. I can see why some people don't like this. But I'm also curious to know how they were looking forward to this? Because I myself thought it would be something like the Acoustic Orchestra releases. But I'm actually very surprised. This is something entirely different. And I personally needed Ayu to do that, because her recent work hasn't really given me that "fresh" feel like it used to. This is nostalgia and refreshing all in one. But I can see how this can dissapoint if you were expecting something else?

I also think this classic song mashup thing is something else to listen to, you know? I hear two songs at the same time and Ayu's I know by heart, but the classic songs are just "familiar" to me if that makes any sense? My ears don't know what's happening to them. In a good way. It's been a while since music gave me that feeling. I hope they will do this again with other types of songs, because JEWEL, HEAVEN and Memorial address in this style would be pure eargasm. Or July 1st... or Real me. Haha. Imagine Rule O_O

chocopockymaster 27th January 2015 07:48 PM

Yeah, I'm really surprised by how much I like it overall! If she had done two things differently, though, this album could have been off-the-charts amazing:

1. Re-recorded vocals, but that's not important as...
2. A real orchestra with much less synth

But I like the arrangements and will probably be picking this up at some point, which I'm surprised by.

stickyrice 27th January 2015 07:57 PM

Why is HONEY actually my favourite track lol It's just so ridiculously cute! Overall though, it's a nice release :) It does its job of embracing romance, love, etc that I adore <3

love in music 27th January 2015 08:03 PM

Omg SEASONS is SO CUTE. I like it more than the original.

perfectodub 27th January 2015 09:43 PM

love : Voyage, SEASONS, days, TO BE

the rest is just ok to me

hayasaki 27th January 2015 10:06 PM

I only liked Virgin Road, Days, You and To be based on the previews. I'm not really fond of remix/compilation albums so i'm still in doubt of purchasing it.

How about the booklet, CD scan and back cover? :D

primavera♥ 27th January 2015 10:47 PM

Wow, I really like this release. To get me to listen to different versions of ballads is a challenge too. I felt really drained of classical/acoustic orchestra after A Classical even though I normally like it.

But this makes me happy that this was released.
I think this release was put together well. And the arrangements are great.

Honey is beyond cute. I really like what they did with it. This release also put life into a lot of other songs that I was kind of done with for a while. Like, Virgin Road and Seasons. Even Dearest. Idk, it's all great. I may buy this for my birthday.

orangeakira 27th January 2015 11:04 PM

I really don't have a favorite song. I like that they added a beat, but "mashup with famous classical masterpieces" or not, this is still a standard orchestra album that doesn't really sound that different from the rest. Actually, I don't know most of the songs sampled, so from my perspective, most of/almost all of these songs just sound like another acoustic orchestra version.

spanishfan 27th January 2015 11:22 PM

Why did she re-recorded the vocals for HONEY but this time with a clothes peg on the nose? lol

I agree with artika, this song should be erase from her discography :yes

Lmao. Your comment is funny but I LOVE the original HONEY. It works in context of the original track.

maxikot 28th January 2015 01:32 AM

I haven't given this album a listen yet but I see that generally people dislike Honey. I will defend this song. I have presented Ayu to some people and Honey is one of those songs that really stuck in their heads in a positive way. It's cute, but not overly sugared, have some sweet warmth in it and it doesn't have cheap electronic composition. I can't put it on the same shelf with Thank U, You & Me because for me Honey is much more better in terms of music, lyrics and general felling as I said. Done with offtop, need to download the album :>

Yes, HONEY has a really well fleshed out arrangement and I think the song is really catchy. The chorus is so cute and the even that little melody during the intro is wonderful. Certainly not anything similar to Thank U and I find it more enjoyable than You & Me and Feel The Love as far as upbeat pop songs go.

koumori 28th January 2015 05:12 AM

Listening to the album... I'm loving it so far. Really well done. As a fan of classical music as well, this project was not something I expected from Ayu and I'm amazed to have it!

On the subject of HONEY, I'm not a big fan of the original but the LOVE CLASSICS version is surprisingly cute. :)

Just finished listening to the album.

This version of winding road just might be my favorite version of the song. Same goes for SEASONS. I also liked Voyage and Virgin Road, though the chorus sounds a bit flat in the latter.

Those four songs were pretty much all I liked. Didn't really care for much else.

Definitely. I know some people were against the re-recorded vocals, but I think with her tone now they could have gone down a couple octaves and made the tracks sound a lot fuller. From how she/they described the album, it did its job well: the tracks are light/easy listening, the mashup is there, and it certainly twisted both her tracks and the classical pieces for everyone to enjoy.

But yes, a deeper re-recording, fuller orchestra, and dropping it an octave or two would have definitely "wow"ed me a lot more. They had a chance with her later releases (Days and Virgin Road), but it wasn't as impactful as it could have been.

HONEY was also pretty good! I didn't think it was bad at all, and it certainly exceeded my expectations.

The concept of this album was scary but we have to admit that it's a great album. It's a shame she didn't re-recorded the songs, but I'm really happy with the final product.

As always, Dearest is flawless... I know we've had a lot of "slow" versions, but this one is beautiful!

Chibi-Chan 29th January 2015 10:28 PM

I can't stand wrong tags... lol so what are the correct tags for this release?

The back cover says: Voyage [Johann Pachelbel: Canon in D major]
The obi, official website and youtube account says: Voyage [パッヘルベルのカノン]

I didn't listen to any preview so I wouldn't spoil anything, and I gotta say it's a bit a let down for me. Yes, the songs are good, maybe except for HONEY, bit there was no song that made me WOW like You & Me or Love song from A CLASSICAL (and even kanariya from the last ayu-mi-x). Maybe that's cause they were all mash-ups, but I'm just not feeling a great aura in them...

when i listened the album for the first time, i really loved the concept and the songs
today i listened it for the 2° time, and it was really bouring XD i can't stand 2 minutes of each song. to be honest is like any other acoustic orchestra album to me.

I'm not a huge fan of Dearest in general; the original arrangement kind of bores me. It is pretty but slightly to monotonous for me. This version however is really pretty and keeps me interest throughout the whole song.
The album had an interesting concept. I wasn't sure what to expect but I think it all worked out quite nicely. The songs sound really nice and not even the older songs with her old vocals sound bad :)

I thought Honey was going to be a mess, but it turned out to be one of the best on the album! I am impressed.

And I love what they did with Seasons.
