Please, stop bashing on streaming platforms. It's great that Japanese music can finally be available in the West for those who don't want to listen to them illegally but also can't afford to import physical CDs.

Streaming is cheaper and more convenient for many people, but that doesn't mean you can't keep buying the physical albums. Why not give different options for different people? If you don't like Spotify you can simply move on with your life and not use it.

And please, stop saying that you prefer "real music." What is that supposed to mean? The music that an artist release is the same on a physical CD or digital. When you use the word "real" to define physical media I feel like you're trying to imply that people who prefer digital music are less of a fan or inferior compared to you.

I stopped buying physical media because I don't want to have a lot of cds and dvds with me everytime I need to move from my house. :~ And streaming is so much easier! And also you can discover a lot of new artists based on your music taste.

i wish people would understand that other than buying physical CDs to support ur fav artist, streaming on spotify also allows them to "earn" (avex, if not ayu) by number of streams. only ayufans would buy CDs immediately upon release dates. Spotify opens the option to non-fans to "explore" her music, and fall in love with her, AND buy her CDs to further support her. All artists need financing to continue creating music. I especially love the fact that Spotify has live recordings of concerts too~~

At least since the early 00's musics, videos and games has starting to become pretty much an imaterial product, with this possibility becoming more frequent and accessible over years. In a world with less and less space and more and more trash and overuse of raw material related problems caused by excess of consumerism, not needing a new physical media that more frequently than not will end up just collecting dust or thrown away, consuming digital medias is actually a good thing.

If the music doesn't need the CDs anymore to be consumed, considering the physical media to be "real music" is... kinda stupid to be honest. If people prefer buying it for whatever reason, that's fine, but the music isn't imprisoned on that disc, it's just a way to reproduce it.

I never use spotify, but I have it installed on my phone. Forgot my iPod when leaving the house the other day, and remembered spotify. Was checking it out...I'm glad so much of ayu's discography is on here, despite the miscategorizations! Sound quality was pretty decent too!

Now Ayu is on spotify, it's so much easier to listen to Ayu. I remember my struggling earlier times with Ayu when all I can do is listen to samples on her discography in her website and praying that Ayu's PVs would air on MTV just to hear her songs. It was the time when it's quite difficult to buy her CDs. Lucky Millennials!

I see they have added globe and Kuu. Any chance they'll add Hikki, Namie Amuro, and Ai Otsuka? What do you guys think? I don't use Spotify except for on the bus in the mornings and on the way home, so it'd just be nice to hear more of my favorite artists. (And they already have Ayu, globe, Kuu, Perfume/capsule/Kyary, and the Trance I like.)

I feel like avex is eventually going to have most of their popular artists up on there. Ai Otsuka's newest album is up on Spotify and I hope they eventually add the rest of her discography too. Also crossing my fingers for Namie and hitomi to get added soon.

And about Namie I guess they'll do the same as with Kuu, they put her stuff up a bit before anouncing her new albums and putting two promotional tracks. It helps creating a buzz among old and new fans and promoting the album a bit. Just hope it doesn't take too much :P

It's available to stream on UK Apple Music (Made In Japan), so I don't think it's fully an AWA exclusive issue.

I can't understand all the fuss around SEASONS. I don't even listen to the studio version of A Song for XX (only the live version from a-nation 07). The only songs I really listen to from the TOP10 is BLUE BIRD and Movin' on without you.

I only listen to Seasons when I'm listening to Duty or A Ballads. It's a nice song and quite nostalgic but it's not one I would skip to.

I love the studio version, but I mostly listen to the live one from A BEST LIVE. It's so iconic! :luv2 That is still one of my favorite tour openings of all time, hands down.
