I feel some hate for me here... I apology if something I said sounded rude or offended anyone, I never meant it that way. I've been following and supporting Namie since a really long time, and by any means I wanted to drag her down. I think some people on this forum takes other's comments too seriously though.

Guys, guys... At the time of want me, want me there was Google, online translators, people who actually knew what was being said/sung and most importantly: she was at a point of her career she had control of her releases already. Even when it doesn't make sense (koda's and BoA's early English versions lol) the singers at least get the feeling of what they are singing haha they are professionals. And what really matters: she sings want me want me A LOT, so even in this imaginary world where she found out the highly sexual lyrics too little too late, she likes it and is singing it like she doesn't care. So why would we?? Haha

I absolutely loved everything, but I'm so less critical than you guys lmao I wish do it for love had a dance routine for the MV and I believe it is the tour opening song... I mean, too many screams and belted notes for her to sing it middle/end section IMHO. And it'd be a great opener <3 I'm sure I'd feel it right away haha

Oh, btw: showtime MV reminded me a little of hyori's bad girls Hahaha and I love both.

I freaking loved showtime. I hated the preview of it, even talked smack about it, but the concept as a whole is just so freaking fun. The MV, her looks, the dance, the song. I'm a sucker for a good/fun dance song (Chit-chat. Always Chit-chat.) and I'm sure I'll have fun with this one for a while too. I love her hair in it as well xD

Fanspace version is shipped from mu-mo?
They ship it one day before release if I remember right (Ayu´s last release is a while ago so I don´t remember it for sure) so you have it on release date or the day after. But no guarantee it will be that way. maybe someone else has more recent expierience.

You should probably use your Tenso address: if I remember well they wrote that orders could take up to 2 weeks before being sent.


As for the 'Want me, want me' debate, once again if my memories do not fail, the words she didn't get and learnt the meaning later were "oochie" and "coochie". At least, that's what was being said at the time.

Ship it to your Tenso address. The fanspace edition won't be shipped and delivered right away since it's customized.

I placed my order when the announcement was made and my order says delivery is expected 1-2 weeks from the release date of the album. I don't know if the delivery time is the same, or even worse, for orders being placed recently.

While I was disappointed booking my current trip before the announcement of the 25th anniversary concert, I am very glad to be in Japan during this release of Finally. Its amazing walking the streets of Tokyo with this marketing campaign and I can't wait to check out the Shibuya popup store.

Yes, the music changed as well. In some tracks there are more prominent changes but I'm sure all of the tracks will be different in some ways even if it might not be too apparent.

She does lack the energy in her vocals is what I noticed. And she doesn't hit the notes the same way, i.e. a lot of the times she takes it down as if she can't be bothered.

Regarding NEW LOOK, the beat does sound distracting, but honestly these radio versions sound awful and there's tons of distortion so here's hoping to that CD quality doesn't disappoint as much.

Yeah, I'll wait for the CD rip. The quality of these radio rips kind of make it sound like she's singing karaoke to her own songs lol

the music & movie master is a free magazine that can be pick up at any HMV stores in Japan , just like Tower Records's tower+ (you don't need to buy anything just to get either 1 in both CD stores)

The issue with Namie on the cover already started to get distributed on Halloween

The weird thing about having all these songs redone is that, every single song will be in her current voice, so the originality from track to track essentially disappears. I think listening to everything at once won't be as fun as it will to hear these randomly every once in a while. If that makes sense...

The small details in her tone and such that the original tracks have in them has very much to do with her age, experience (or lack of because she was still young), trends of the decade, vocal training, etc.

So I'm taking this release more as a great bonus. It's rare that artists would re record this many songs...

That all being said, Say the word brought an instant smile to my face. I can feel the happiness...

I'm still curious why she decided to resing her recent songs :shrug I couldn't tell any major difference in Funky Town, and I dont think it's necessary IMO. But nevertheless, I still appreciate she did something unusual for her songs though, it will be plain boring if she just packed her songs into a best album.

Off topic though, but one of my fav singer hitomi did a self cover in her past best album, where she sang with her older self, ex:

verse1 old vocal
verse2 new vocal
chorus old+new vocal

etc. I think it will be a great idea if Namie did the same way too

I think she sounds more autotuned too, but it may just be the quality. I like how instead of straining for notes in some of the new recordings she goes into falsetto, like when she sings “kaeru” at 49 second into the new Say the word.

I sometimes hate when an artist goes out on a high note, but I'm also so glad that Namie has had the last 20+ years as a career. Namie did the unthinkable in Japan's music culture: She became a huge star twice. How she managed to completely reinvent her career and come back as the most popular solo female artist for a second run, I have no clue. But she managed it. And that's a pretty damn good note to go out on.
