Isn't that outfit from the recent tour?

pedronekoi 6th December 2018 02:29 PM

She looks really good! Love it.

I was thinking that because Kumi's version of Megumi no Hito went viral this year, maybe avex/Ayu think that Movin on without you can go the same way and that's why they promoted this song on FNS. Just a theory lol Or maybe Ayu will release a cover album soon. Her official site even made a playlist with her covers and the original songs.

I would love a covers compilation, as long as it includes Haru yo koi lol

Loved the performance, she sounded really good! I'm glad she's getting positive feedback from the public for it.

Idk guys, I thought she was playbacking like 85% of the performance.

She looked great though, and I am glad the reactions are positive.

When I heard the beginning of the song I thought that she was lip-syncing too but I realised it's just the backing track that is loud. You hear her voice if you listen carefully.

The performance seems so short to me. But it's good to watch her. :)

Yeah, it's a heavy backing track, which honestly, I'm glad she did. Even back in her heyday, the performances of M, Evolution etc., were heavily backtracked.

Here is the youtube link. I don't want to download the file. The backtrack is loud, and it is not the first time. Lots of her old performances are with loud backtracking. Only the video quality back in the day is not as great as today.

So am I. Backtrack sounds a lot better than most of her backvocals :D

That was exactly my thought about JTB - chapter 3, but just to be clear - I love Princess ^^

Andrenekoi 8th December 2018 02:07 AM

She was pretty and the energy was on point!

You could barely hear her live singing and she most likely only sang 1 sentence the whole song, but the public doesn't seen to care, haha

Katsuyuki012 8th December 2018 02:36 AM

To me the backing track was only louder than her during the verse (sometimes you could hear her voice there, though). During the chorus I could definitely hear her live singing, especially during higher notes where one could hear her airy voice or during other parts where it kind of breaks (e.g. 2nd pre-chorus).

ayumi_croatia 8th December 2018 04:27 AM

She looked great and her energy was on point. I just wish she sang a bit more. :grumpy

pedronekoi 8th December 2018 09:03 AM

Watching again and I think it's one of her best TV lives in a few years lol The energy was awesome and she looks really good!

I wish Utada would mention something about it, would be so cute.

Earth_maiden 9th December 2018 12:14 AM

She did great, I'm proud of her!

EndOfTheWorld 9th December 2018 02:11 AM

I didn't think the backing track was that strong. I felt like I was hearing Ayu's live vocals here and there. She most likely used a backing track because it's an electronic dance song.

YUKARI 9th December 2018 03:57 AM

I find it really cool that she decided to perform this song. it felt like it was a promotion for Utada's tour. and in general it feels like Ayu supported Hikaru after terrible thing happened to Hikki's mother. I've never noticed that Ayu made this cover after all those things...

kotora 9th December 2018 06:14 AM

The only one thing I don't like in this performance is the lighting. Too strong and flash frequently. It takes a while to get me used to.

Deep snow 9th December 2018 07:14 PM

the bar for what makes a good performance has been very low for me when it comes to ayu :laugh if she does well vocally like this FNS, I'm willing to look past most everything about her performance :laugh

Same to be honest. If the vocals aren't good no show can save the performance.

^Poor jpop then... :B

I didn't love the performance but she sounded decent, proud of her for that!

Well, it's not that sad. At least half of jpop singers can actually sing, based on TV music shows like FNS, Kouhaku, etc.
