This is gonna be on YouTube ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Given how it probably won't be archived, I hope people are able to capture it!

koumori 21st December 2020 01:15 PM

The setlist changes seem to be related more to MC moments than to specific songs. That's what I'm getting from it, since she mentions there was a corner that "only TA could do" and that it required laughter.

pedronekoi 21st December 2020 02:10 PM

I'm glad it will be streamed on YouTube! Now I won't spend my xmas alone anymore lol

Chris85 21st December 2020 02:14 PM

I'm all for setlist change, not really interested in cover songs.

Really?? YAAY, hopefully I can watch it with no interference.

Toniayu123 21st December 2020 02:51 PM

For free?? What is happing to Avex?
Can’t believe they weren’t planning to record this for a dvd tho

Xianghua 21st December 2020 03:44 PM

I assume they made it free because they said to expect a lower quality.
Either way, it's very nice of them.

kaled kalil 21st December 2020 04:01 PM

Quite a weird decision, they are not gonna make any money out of it basically. But glad everyone will be able to watch it! :)

tokyoxjapanxfan 21st December 2020 04:19 PM

Sucks for the ppl who got tickets because it was so limited they’d have been very lucky to see it.

I believe it would’ve been a nice show, and it’s unfortunate that the original idea won’t been seen. But honestly, it makes sense given the circumstances. It was a nice idea though.

The fact that she didn’t cancel it completely is very nice of her.

SunshineSlayer 21st December 2020 05:10 PM

This is what I expected and yay, now we can all see it. I think the time will be 3 am my time though. How do you record a livestream? lol

I want to know that too. I haven't found a way to do it with YouTube. All I managed to do is to extract some excerpts from the browser's temporary files.

Diego-kun 21st December 2020 08:11 PM

Having a free streaming on YouTube is really nice of them! I'm sorry for her Japanese fans, though

maxikot 21st December 2020 08:12 PM

I know you could try recording your screen with some software that allows it.

Aderianu 21st December 2020 08:36 PM

It will be the middle of work day, I can't try to record

Lyssayu 21st December 2020 09:07 PM

Well that kind of saved Xmas 2020!!❤️

truehappiness 21st December 2020 09:16 PM

We will be livechatting this on Discord so come join us when/if you plan to watch! Join via the link here!

Should be a fun night like all the other concert nights!!!

kaled kalil 21st December 2020 10:57 PM

If you have Win 10 you can always use the Game Mode to record the screen, it can record the full 1080p, if that's the resolution of your own screen, and up to 4 hours with no interruption. That's how I recorded the a-nation 2020. :)

I might try record it if I don't have to work on the day, since it will be 7am here in Brazil, but I don't know for sure.

Katsuyuki012 21st December 2020 11:16 PM

^That would be great!!!

Chris85 22nd December 2020 03:21 AM

Recording the screen is not the way to go. There must be a way to download the live stream, the quality would bemuch better. VLC media player is able to record streams if there's a link to the playlist, but I don't know how to get it in case of YouTube.
There's a chance of course that they will let people rewatch after it airs, but who knows.

Katsuyuki012 22nd December 2020 05:18 AM

Recording the screen at 1080p would at least be a good starting base. If they don't videos to be rewatched, they always make them private. I don't think it being in a playlist would do much in that case.

Aderianu 22nd December 2020 05:53 AM

◆"ayumi hamasaki LIMITED TA Special Xmas Live 2020 @Maihama Amphitheater" Concert Title Change Notice

With the change in the concert content, the title of the concert on Christmas Eve has been changed.

It is now called "ayumi hamasaki Special SHOWCASE Xmas Eve 2020".

By playlist I mean M3U8 file that contains the links to the source video: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U#M3U8

I am not unhappy that the Gaijin can join in after all lol

When I watched B1A4's concert, I learned Korean fans have come up with a really smart way to interact with the concert by posting "(((((((" and "))))))))))" or "\\\\\\\\\" and "///////" during songs when you would normally wave your light stick back and forth. Can we get the YouTube chat spamming with this as well for the ballads?

Use streamlink, type in on command prompt (without quotes) "streamlink <stream URL> --best" and you can stream on VLC. Then hit record on VLC and it should be recorded to a hard drive of your choice (to set recording directory, go to Settings -> (Simple) Input / Codecs -> Files -> Record directory or filename).

A lot of screen recorders also record the noise in your room, which isn't ideal. I don't know if the windows screen recorder does that too, but that's something you should take into consideration

even that is ok if we have nothing better, the more ppl try the better is the chance to have a decent quality rip.

I think it's just the case of disabling the computer's microphone and set the Stereo Mix.

kaled kalil 22nd December 2020 01:01 PM

I didn't see anyone complaining about the quality of the a-nation rip, which I uploaded on jps and was posted here afterwards, so I see no problem. Also, the game mode isn't just a screen recorder, it works as a capture card which is fine by me.

The quality will not be great anyway, as said Ayu, so...

It's great that anyone is planning to record it. If other people want to try recording it in different ways, please do! I love seeing this creativity and drive in the fandom and the more people trying to get a good copy, the better.
I just hope we get a download of this concert no matter how. It will definitely be a memorable moment in Ayu's career for every fan :heart

I'm so happy that we will be able to see this live! <3 Maybe this will be a nice Christmas after all. <3

Mikytaryan 22nd December 2020 08:35 PM

This is truly one of those unique occasions we are given. I cannot wait to spend Christmas Eve listening to her live, it really gives me a glitter of hope that good things can be found even in the darkest of times.

I am sorry for the situation in Japan (unfortunately it's the same or worse throughout the world as well). But I am happy she committed to having the live still, this is one of those situations when feeling connected is essential.

Many of us will spend Christmas far from dear ones, things are different this year so I am happy we are given this chance.

Time to start the AHS Ayu Xmas Tradition :love

Just ran a test of this and can confirm it does in fact work as long as what you are trying to stream/record is currently live-streaming. You don't even have to do the manual recording step. You can just append -o filename if you want it to download or -r filename if you want to watch it in vlc and download simultaneously, so it would look like this for example in terminal:
(paste into the terminal without quotes) "streamlink <stream URL> best -o HamasakiAyumiXmasLive2020"

I didn't give it a file extension until after I stopped the recording. Both .ts and .mp4 worked as file extensions to play the files, but I feel like .ts was better quality (probably not actually though, they're probably exactly the same.) I tried it on a Mac in terminal.

Sounds good, so I don´t need to cry if the stream doesn´t work while driving xD

junshen 23rd December 2020 12:58 PM

The show will push 30 mins late. And there’s not archive function. So anyone can record it on time.

This sounds promising but on streamlink website I found information that protected videos on youtube are not supported. I checked in VLC recording and it records streams well but it failed with streams from official channels so I am wondering if it will work. I definitely hope for it ^^

Oh wow. Didn’t even know there was such a thing as protected stream...ah well. With the time changed to 19.30 I probably won’t be able to see the whole stream anyway. I’m not really good with code, so I have no idea how to solve for it or if such a patch exists. It’s interesting though, because streamlink can work for other protected streams like Crunchyroll, unless those streams are not protected?
I’ll try to test if I can find a protected stream to test with, otherwise we need a new plan.

I checked this one (power rangers official) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoVcobJTZXk and I didn't use streamlink and it's connection to VLC. I just used VLC and its ability to record streams. So me being unable to record referred to such operation.

AJFmzk 23rd December 2020 09:21 PM

^ ah, missed that in your post...was trying to read quickly

~angel*ayumi~ 23rd December 2020 09:31 PM

Screen recording would go arround all that protection though, you just have to record it in a quiet room and shut the door xD

AJFmzk 23rd December 2020 10:20 PM

^ yes. I just asked someone who is more knowledgeable at this stuff than me and they said screen recording is the only sure way to do it. Seems there’s a way to route the audio out from YouTube straight into the recorder app so it bypasses the microphone
https://blogs.reed.edu/ed-tech/recor...en-with-audio/

I was able to use streamlink to record from the link you sent, this is the exact code that I used in terminal.
"streamlink https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoVcobJTZXk best -o powerrangerstest.ts"

By recording you mean downloading the data without re-encoding?

AJFmzk 24th December 2020 04:16 AM

I think so. When I ran the script with the link maxikot posted (I only ran it for a minute at a time, since I was just testing things out) and when I exited the terminal app, I had a video file (specifically .ts as specified in the code) no additional processing or anything. It actually has a little counter that starts that shows how many minutes/megabyes have been downloaded. I don't have a Windows system so I couldn't test it on windows, but it worked for me on Mac. I have vlc 3.0.8 and I'm using the latest build of streamlink. If you have vlc and use streamlink you should be able to use the same code (without the quotes) that I posted in my previous post, all you have to change are the youtube link and the name you want to give to the file. I was able to playback the video file in vlc after downloading the small segment off the livestream and the quality was good in 1080p hd.

It's possible this method won't end up working, but so far all my tests have worked. Either way, the time difference is a bad time for me so even after all this I don't know if I'll even be able to see much of the stream anyway.

kendelle 24th December 2020 09:39 AM

The Windows 10 game bar screen recording thing seems to work on a few streams that I tested. I'm willing to give it a shot at recording but capturing the stream seems a bit out of my league lol

Chris85 24th December 2020 09:48 AM

I downloaded a portable version of streamlink and when I try to run it it just closes with "Unrecognized argument --no-version-check" error.
Edit: got it working after installing a regular version, but I don't know where the file is being saved to.
Edit2: Ok, found it, it was in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
What do I press to stop the recording? I had to turn off my Internet in order for it to stop.

Thank you for your advice! Now I will know how to capture YouTube's live streams.

FoxyPinkGirl 24th December 2020 10:22 AM

I’ve encountered the same sort of issue with videos on YouTube many times. Yes creators (over 500k subscribers), brands, corporations and artists (musicians and actors), have the option of having their videos protected from being shared (I.e. downloaded, recorded) via their settings. Creators don’t seem to care because they want the subscribers and feel it’s free advertising. Screen recording seems it’s the only way it’ll work for the Xmas Special. I’m really hoping someone will record it because I’ve been up all day and night and am starting to fall asleep :(

Chris85 24th December 2020 10:45 AM

This is the first time I hear that YouTube has some sort of protection/encryption.

maxikot 24th December 2020 11:29 AM

I managed with streamlink (yesterday it didn't want to start VLC, today somehow it works):) Even if it doesn't work with ayu's concert it's a useful knowledge so it was nice to learn sth new :)
EDIT
Tried to stream Dreamed a Dream with streamlink from ayu's channel and got this:
error: This plugin does not support protected videos, try youtube-dl instead
