Can't listen to anything on any link :(
|
The (NOT) Remember you one will be available when it hits midnight for you.
|
How do you see these links already? lol I already liked them...looking forward to new stuff :)

Chinese fans ripped (NOT) Remember you already! I found the links via Google. So far though none for ray of truth, taskinson, Nonfiction remix, or Just the way you are... Also this song and Nonfiction are pretty much the first time Ayu ever used the f*** and s*** in her lyrics... this song is kind of angry and betrayed feeling! |

Edit : Thanks truehappiness the song is good! |
I love the energy of this song but it is a little noisy. Feels like a great anime OP though!

OH.MY.GAWD. This song warrants a PV!!! |
Takahiro_Hamasaki on Weibo posted all composers!
(NOT) Remember you - Hajime Kato (Summer Again) ray of truth - Yuta Nakano (Mirror, talkin' 2 myself, Tell All) Remember you - Tetsuya Yukumi (Memorial address, Last minute, Sorrows...) taskinson - tasuku VIBEES - Hajime Kato Just the way you are - Kazuhiro Hara (previously did Curtain call, You were..., WARNING, NOW & 4EVA) So since Yuta did ray, I think it is an interlude. And Just the way you are was done by Kazuhiro Hara!!! |
(NOT) Remember you is f*** amazing! It's WARNING part 2.
OMG, now I can't wait for the full album! :luv2:luv2:luv2:luv2 |
It's EnergizE mixed with WARNING imo! I am SUPER excited for VIBEES!
Still can't believe she just said "WHO THE F*CK ARE YOU" |
Quote:
|
I don't know what to think about the song ! It's catchy but some parts give me headache lol
Think I will listen to it a few times :) |
Quote:
I like it a lot! wow! I my hopes were so low for that album! That is giving me some! The song is silly and all over the palce but... so much much to listen. the structure is chaotic without being as confusing as DoD. |

I’m in love with (NOT) Remember you!! I was expecting a ballad after so many upbeat songs, instead we have the most upbeat of them! It’s like a mix of W and EnergizE. Lovin’ it!
Does she scream “YOU SCREWED IT UP!!” In the end? Oh god, I’m so curious to read the full lyrics. |
Quote:
Me too, can't wait for the full lyrics and translation! |
Ayu's first full album since becoming a parent is PARENTAL ADVISORY level!
|
(NOT) Remember You sounds pretty cool! Not blown away, but it sounds pretty fresh to me, yet has the old school vibe to it with the synths. I'm digging it! For some reason i love the chaos in it :D
|
The album is 'up' on Spotify and other services now!
https://open.spotify.com/album/4Cabl...QxutJPI33i7Bzg 02. (NOT) Remember you - 3:42 06. ray of truth - 1:35 07. Remember you - 4:24 10. taskinson - 1:58 12. VIBEES - 3:16 13. Nonfiction - Yohanne Simon remix - 4:22 14. Just the way you are - 3:52 53:30 total length! |
I think I got the last part.
“大切だったよ それは本当だよ でも過去系だよ You screwed it up!” That would be: “you were important I really mean it But that is in past tense You screwed it up!” It’s really chaotic and noisy to understand a lot of part as a not native speaker but if I catch something else I’ll let you know! |
|
Just bought (NOT) remember you and this one is REALLY GOOD!!!
|
Let me guess - Remember You is a ballad? It feels like Sunrise/Sunset situation.
The album is still not out in the Europe, we haven't hit the midnight yet. |
So because Ayu is swearing it's good ? Gosh what our society has become that's crazy. That's the same thing when Taylor Swift began to add "shit" or other bad words in her songs. Everybody was like "wouaw good". That's lame in my opinion, looks forced. And (not) remember you is a mess inlistenable. Making noise is not making music. No melody, no nothing just noise.
But fans to be happy with such garbage so ... I got nothing to say i guess |
From the order of the tracklist, Remember you is grouped with オヒアの木 and 春よ、来い so I'm guessing it will be a mid-tempo or ballad. (If the title is also in Japanese Kanji, then the section will look more coherent lol)

And, just in case, at midnight the song is out not the album :) The album release is at the end of January. |
Yukumi ballads tend to be rockish at least. Or maybe it'll be like a Shape of love taste?

Nah whatever!! For me (NOT) remember you is really a good song. Really fit with ayu voice. Maybe people who dont like ayu songs nowadays because they expect too much from her. Remember, She got deaf, but she still make new music, do concerts etc. It's not easy but she break her limit. She is legend!
|
[NOT] Remember you is f**king amazing! My most fav song from her in years.
|
Honestly starting with Summer again, Ayu released some good bangers and (not) remember you has been my personal favorite so far :heart
Reminds me of Terminal so far, just angry instead of sad |
Feels like a more chaotic version of Energize. The chorus at least has a similar playfulness; I like that. The arrangement however is very cheap. I wish they'd stop pulling from the same bank of sounds for songs like this. All of her "rock-esque" songs lately are laden with electronic sounds. They could be really grand if the electronics were more of an embellishment to the track rather than the base of it. For (don't) Leave me alone the electronic sound taking a more prominent role worked REALLY well, but attempts thereafter have sounded poor by comparison.

Hmm I like the lyrics and melody but the rest just sounds like noise? I‘d prefer something where you can actually distinguish a proper guitar or drums or something. That’s what I don’t really like about her latest songs, they’re so noisy it’s unpleasant to me. Maybe I’m just getting old lol. (And maybe it would sound better on some fancy speaker I don’t have.)

(not) remember you, MASK are purely RUBBISH. I miss her Secret era a lot. The whole album flows so perfect. |

I hate not remember you.
But I enjoyed the CDL :) But I hate not remember you. |
I tried to resist the urge to give (NOT) Remember you a listen but I caved in. Had a blast listening to the track while running a few errands. It gave me a burst of energy that coffee has failed to do for the last 5 years. Super pumped for the remaining tracks!
|
I think when she has these sort of loud and bombastic songs, it's because she is feeling a certain kind of way about something. This kind of sound I think isn't new to her really either since I think some stuff in 2002-2003 were like wall-of-sound too where you just heard a ton of stuff coming at you.
With the electronic portions I think that might be to make it sound more modern but it would be nice for Ayu to do a band arrangement for some of these without as much electronic influence since that is reaallllllyy uncommon for her. |
(NOT) Remember you is so so good :weep I waited until I could listen to it directly from Spotify before listening to it again.
It really feels like it could have fit on NEXT LEVEL to me - rock-inspired electro-pop. It fits in really well where it is on the album. |

Is it just me or does this song have some strong Eurobeat vibes? Either way, I love it!
|
I definitely got a Euro or anisong type feel from this. You can tell that Hajime Kato did some work on anime tracks before too! (https://vgmdb.net/artist/15589)
|
I'm excited for the rest of the album! I feel like most of the singles feel so disconnected. I'm interested to hear how the album tracks tie everything together!
|
Just listened to NONFICTION until Summer Again on Spotify (the new album is up but not all the new songs). So far, I love it ! It feels connected and coherent ! Can't wait to listen to the others songs !

Since most of the album is sandwiched in between two versions of Non-fiction, the original and a remix, I'd say it might represent the album's main theme. The whole theme of what you think is the truth vs what actually is the truth seems quite common in this era, even in the singles.
Kind of not a fan of releasing more songs before the album, since I want to listen to them immediately. I listened a little to (NOT) Remember you, but now I'd like to hear the whole song. |
IMO "(NOT) Remember you" is the best song on the album.
|
"No matter how many times you wash your hands, they won't become beautiful for the rest of your life"
Gotta love Ayu!!! |
@(NOT) Remember you
The song is really really really great. I also appreciate that she's working on her vocals again. That was something that kept me away from her songs for a very long time, and I know her music since 2002. Basically, I kept my eye on her for this moment. Hope she keeps up with her coach on a regular basis. One critical point, I think the audio mix might be a bit all over the place, the vocals are fighting with the instruments. Would have been even greater otherwise. |
I wonder what exactly happens with the mixing and mastering... 'cause it's really uneven in the last releases.
|
I really like NOT REMEMBER YOU because it’s so chaotic. Seeing the live with all the megaphones is a sign that she wants to bring across a message and in order to get people to listen to it, in the first place it must be noisy so that people pay close attention to the message being portrayed; a little bit of 1LOVE feeling as well
|
There was usually a bit of a refinement to the chaos though for older mixes. I think the backing arrange is a bit too loud in some parts of (NOT) while the vocals should be clearer imo.
It appears that most of the singles got remastered and mixed properly? Dreamed a Dream it is fairly obvious compared to the original mix. That might be why there's an album mix link now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UHyeEfPtig This link will be to the 'album' mix when it hits midnight for you! |
I still don't understand why Avex inserted "[NOT] Remember you" instead of the round brackets on Youtube...

Ohhh I love the song!! The album is very good so far. Sorry to certain people who want me to pretend that I hate these songs just so that she starts catering to them specifically :P
So I was wrong about VIBEES but right about Ray of truth (since I thought either that one or remember you would be an interlude), interesting! Definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of it. I wonder if remember you is about her sons, since it seems to be in the section about them (I saw a theory ages ago that she dedicated Haru Yo Koi to her second son, which may be true considering taskinson comes after it) |
Quote:
I like how everyone's opinions of the song are so divergent :) |
You know what i find funny? That people are tryong to read into the setlist like it has some sort of a concept. I know we all want that to be back and stuff, but what i see is just a bunch of random songs thrown together. There's no way this was planned for like years now lol lets be real here. Sure you can make something up with the rest and get it to work, but i wouldn't give it that much credit. I know it's fun to try and read into it. But to me this is just a compilation with a few new songs thrown in, considering there's two songs that share almost the same title and two songs that have different arrangements. it's like they were grabbing onto straws to turn it into a legit album lol We'll see how it flows, though, they might have figured that out at least.
|
why are some songs not on the pre save (23rd M, Haru, Ohia)?
|
cant wait for the ballad song "remember you"
|
All Ayu albums are like that though with the concepts and it not being quite planned from the start except maybe MY STORY and Party Queen...?. She makes it work, always though!

It is crazy to realise that this album is turning to be more up-tempo than ''Party Queen''

It definitely gives the vibe of an anime opening and I think it would do her well if she ever got one (if she makes more tracks like this). |
https://twitter.com/soundtrucker/sta...22327650144256
Yuta confirmed he arranged (NOT)! I wonder if he got inspired from CMJK or asked for some of his sound banks... |
I love the arrangement on ''(NOT) Remember you''. The song itself is very similiar to ''Energize'' and ''Warning'' and the arrangements reminds me a bit of ''Until that Day''(which is the supperior track above all the others).
I think if the electronic elements were out of the mix, the song woud be too similiar to ''Warning'' or ''W'' |
I quite like Ayu’s bombastic rock songs and this is no exception. The melody and lyrics are superb. The overall sounds does seem like it could be on NEXT LEVEL. Having bought the song and listened it on a high quality speaker and it does sound much better. The only parts where it hard to hear Ayu is when her voice is distorted and mimic the backing electronic parts. That’s where it gets a bit chaotic for me, but that’s only near the end of the choruses.
Really looking forward to the rest of the album! Only part I’m a bit meh about is the inclusion of a remix not as a bonus track. I also really don’t hope that Just the way you are is a traditional ballad. I’d love for something like Winding Road, call, MY ALL, or Out for control. |
Given Kazuhiro Hara's track record, I think it will be like NOW & 4EVA style.
Worst case maybe like Curtain call? |

I actually listened to (N)Ry in full once, but even just listening to the beginning the rock influences are obvious, which made me question why it wasn't next to 23rd on the album, but looking at the lyrics it's very much about drawing a line and leaving things behind in the past, in this case likely people. What other song has a similar theme? DaD; just that (N)Ry is much more in-your-face about it, you could even say it's facing outward while DaD faces inward. Nonfiction What appears to be true vs the truth. It's a public self vs private self kind of message, that just because she's famous and has money, doesn't mean that there aren't any hardships. Not everything seen on screens is the whole truth. It will be interesting to see if the remix will add a new spin to the song to the point the lyrics could be reinterpreted. Perhaps it'll be slower or more frantic. (NOT) Remember you The title basically says it all. It's outspoken about the pain someone caused and about their wickedness, but it also has the positive message that she has people around her she can trust. She wants to leave things in the past and not even honour them by remembering, though the (NOT) implies that she'll never really forget. Dreamed a Dream Seems to be more about nostalgic feelings than any one person or situation. It's about remaking oneself so to speak, having to try a new approach. Also an interesting juxtaposition between "even if the future is rotten, have it become light" in this and "even if you try to wash it off, you'll remain dirty" in (NOT) Remember you. (I'm paraphrasing.) 23rd Monster The free time because of the pandemic that led to a peaceful life and the answers she got in that time. Admits she can't free herself from the monster and that there's not a normal life for her; reaffirms her career path. Summer Again There're less restrictions. I interpret taking the Summer back as making up for the time lost because of the pandemic. Might that also be why she flew to Okinawa? I like to see it as an unofficial theme of her Summer activities in 2022. To me it's basically like The Show Must Go On, therefore also reaffirming her career path. ray of truth The truth will eventually shine through, like a ray of sunlight through the clouds. It will likely have no lyrics, though I wouldn't mind some, but I think that could be the meaning behind the title. Remember you Since it's followed by songs dedicated to her children, I could imagine this one looking at past loves. The recent cryptic and ominous messages could also mean that it's about her always remembering everyone throughout her career and perhaps even her wish for us to remember her too. The following two songs could therefore represent two of the reasons for her decision. Ohia no ki Haru yo, koi Songs for her children and probably the reason why they're on the album too. taskinson Does that confirm both of her children are sons? Or did tasuku become a father recently? MASK This kind of goes back to the whole what appears to be true vs the truth theme, but this time it's more about admitting that to oneself; she didn't overcome the pain, but masked it with new wounds. But at the same time we get no resolution to the issue. VIBEES This could go any way, especially with such a title. Could be a more positive spin on the theme of MASK, like being stronger than one thought. It could even be the resolution to MASK. Just the way you are Again, difficult to say what this could be about, but seeing how it comes after a remix of the first track, making the rest of the album sandwiched in-between, this could have a theme removed from the rest of the album. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a "Ayu and Hamasaki Ayumi" type song, especially with her recent cryptic messages. The title could imply a relation to The way I am. The title also quite obviously goes into the direction of accepting someone for who they are, a common theme for her. |

(NOT) Remember you is so much better live. The actual song sounds like a poorly mixed mess :( It's such a good song but the mixing is so terrible, how was this given the okay to be released like this??

I've got a question about the TA exclusive that is up on cdjapan
(https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEODAI-149471) that I hope someone can answer. Will I be asked for TA membership info if I order the item or is it available to everyone? I've ordered the cd only but I would love to order the exclusive if I can. |
I don't think you'll get the mock CD though since it's mu-mo shop version only sadly...
|
After writing that superlong post I noticed the genius behind MASK. It seems some don't like that it doesn't have a climax, but I think that's the point; the lyrics don't have a resolution, so neither does the song.
The first refrain is about pretending to have overcome pain, but actually only masking the scars with new wounds, in the second she asks questions about how long she'll be a specific way or since when she's become a specific way, to then end the song by singing that she's again going to mask wounds with wounds. Usually you'd think there'd be a strong forward-looking message, a strong resolve to change things, but the way the song just fizzles out so to speak reflects admitting that masking scars with new wounds will continue, admitting weakness in a way. I also like how the title evokes the meaning of a mask you wear, but mask also has the meaning of covering something. |
Apple Music version of Remember you album has Dreamed a Dream now in Dolby Atmos quality and is AMAZING!
|
Oy, just listened to (NOT) remember you... knowingly I am late to the party.
Honestly, I was a bit thrown off when I heard her swearing. Not that I am against it or dislike it, but I had never hear her it done before ("You're full of s-" from Nonfiction is pretty mellow imo, and even then I giggled) so she is still able to surprise me and I like that. But maybe I made the mistake to pick the worst timing to listen to this song. You see, I came from a very dreamy trancy ambience kinda music, because I did some yoga. Totally chilled out, I opened Spotify and got the new song notification. And because I have a soft spot for Ayu, I immediately needed to hear it. Well, it is a mess. The room feels so much smaller and I really needed to turn the volume down. Really, it was not a good experience. But oops my bad! I am giving it another turn right now. I am sure I will change my mind. |
Ahhh I love the new song!
Wish we got a PV for it, and also wish there were more new songs on the album |
I really like the flow this album has so far. I think songs that are released already fits really well together. I was afraid of this album being just a random collection of songs but this is really good so far.
I really like (NOT) Remember me as well, it's been stuck in my head since it's release. It could fit even in older releases like Secret. It has that classical ayu-sound that only she can convey :luv2 I'm so excited to hear the rest of the unreleased songs |

Nonfiction is still so far my personal favourite. I like that the album starts so energetically and with so strong, fierce and powerful first couple of songs. I even like Summer Again now although at first it was a bit difficult song for me. But it's bright, happy and just makes you want to dance so I really have started to like it. (NOT) Remember me is interesting. I like the energy and power in this one too but I think the mixing could be better. The song is a bit of a mess to be honest, but it's still a good song. It's a strong album for sure. I also look forward to hearing the rest. :) |
I feel like the messiness of (NOT) is a bit intentional, she kinda did this with some of the NEXT LEVEL tracks too where they were pretty busy [and Yuta/CMJK arranged there]... but I guess I'd take that over a barebones arrange.

Definitely got NEXT LEVEL from it, which I loved (my first real Ayu album) Busy yet polished Really looking forward to the rest of the album Still loving Summer Again but trying not to listen to it too much so the song and album sound as fresh as possible when I receive it Covers I love too, saw the facebook post during work hours and couldn't look away from my phone Been a long time since we've had album covers to admire before release |
(NOT) Remember you is so personal song. Ayu probably will not perform it again, like untitled ~for her~
|
Listened to this instrumental (fanmade) version, the song is really good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avLiksVi-Bw |
so only 2 interludes in the end, I guess when TA told us the album was 12 songs they were just not counting the interludes (but included the remix)
|
According to a reliable insider on ATRL, "Just the way you are" will be released on January 18.
|
Since when was anyone on ATRL ever... in the know for Ayu?
