I hope to god she cancels PCDL. She shouldn't force herself to do that concert, yes, it's very important and you want to see her perform. But she's in a freaking arm-cast. It is best she stays at home and relaxes her arm

Mirai Noah 26th December 2008 06:15 PM

Poor Ayu! I hope she feels better soon! :( :(

Kazeyomi 26th December 2008 06:16 PM

Poor Ayu ;_; she should take care more of herself!

Quote:

I will need at least 3 weeks before I can recover fully.
May she will cancel the PCL :( the end of the year is near!
But I prefer that she take some rest, she deserve it >_<

GANBATTE AYU!

EVILution 26th December 2008 06:23 PM

Poor Ayu I feel bad for her.

Bigtop 26th December 2008 06:25 PM

For 2008, I'm thinking I'm giving her a D+ or maybe a C-, all because of troubles of mishaps. It all starts with that deaf ear issue, and what is her problem? She just like "overshot the runway". It could be possible that the PCDL could be cancelled...

ayu_fantasy 26th December 2008 06:33 PM

Ayu!! I hope that she just take a rest of a month or something to recover...

jbrat2219 26th December 2008 06:34 PM

She needs to learn to take better care of herself and stop staying up late to chat with us xD; As much as I enjoy her TA messages, she needs to rest! Because obviously, she doesn't do well with only a few hours of sleep per day. I'm not saying she's a granny, but she is getting older and people her age need to take proper care of themselves and rest! I appreciate that she feels young or whatever, but there's a difference between what you feel (emotionally) and what your body is telling you. I hope now she will take the time to get some rest before she goes ahead with Premium Countdown Live (which sadly, she most likely will do), and I hope she takes proper precautions and doesn't be like, "Oh, thanks to this medicine, my hand feels fine today so I'm going to ignore the doctor and push myself anyway." :no ... Fans would rather see you healthy than in pain on stage, Ayu xD;;;;;

Best wishes my dear -_-;

Ayu_no_tenshi 26th December 2008 06:47 PM

everyone needs to stop whining about CDL and worry about ayu's health and recovery. if she weren't pushing herself so hard to please us (the fans) in the first place, something like this wouldn't have happened...don't be so selfish and insensitive.

ayujarl 26th December 2008 06:49 PM

awwwww... don't give up Ayu! pls take care ><

minna 26th December 2008 06:55 PM

omg poor ayu! I wonder for the PCDL...I doubt she would cancel it but all the choreographies...

at least it's not worse! rest will do it's trick and she'll be better really soon

Aaminah 26th December 2008 07:01 PM

I never write in this forum, but I find it unbelievable that so many of you can only think about the CDL at a moment when Ayu herself said she is deeply injured and needs to rest. Hypocrisy much? It’s just funny that so many fans pretend to be worried about her health and yet keep saying things like “she can’t cancel the show” or, as I’ve seen in other threads before, “she’s being lazy” (over not releasing enough singles), “sure she could manage to fit in one more single in her schedule” and other things like that. I wonder what would happen if Ayu actually decided to go on a vacation for a few months...

You talk that Ayu mustn’t let her fans down, but what about the fans not letting Ayu down?

She’s human, remember? I know it’s easy to get carried away because Ayu herself is a workaholic and seems to like it that way, but try to put yourself in her place for once. How does it feel?

And before I go away, one last though. I’ve read people say that Ayu’s team is not taking good care of her; however, I think that is the fans’ fault. Ayu frequently pushes herself to the limit, but what or who does she do that for? For us! Therefore, I think we’re the only ones who can stop her from further abusing herself. We’re the ones that aren’t taking good care of her because of all the pressure we put on her. In a way, it’s our fault she’s injured and partially deft, because - as Ayu_no_tenshi already said - if it weren’t for us, Ayu wouldn’t have worked to such an extent it became seriously hazardous to her health.

So… If she can commit in such a way to us, why can’t we do the same for her and cut the woman some slack? :(

P. S. – I realize some fans did show genuine concern over Ayu and that many there are that really care for her. Cheers for those. It’s just that, sadly, they seem to be a minority, and I hate selfish people. :eviltongu

i totally agree

kenniFlyHigh 26th December 2008 07:28 PM

ayu! がんばってね!!!
we are all here for you no matter what

GRACE 26th December 2008 07:31 PM

My bet on the CDL is either cancelation, or, she'll rework the show so she doesn't have to move around with her hand as much. There's also the likely hood she'll obtain and use one of those headset mikes

jimex289 26th December 2008 07:36 PM

This is definitely the hardest on her. Cancel the show and disappoint all her fans who have been waiting so eagerly for it, or put her health first for once. For me at think it's obvious what she should do but for her it's a lose-lose situation. She's past the point where she doesn't have to worry about her health. As she advances farther into her career I think health will start to become a concern, not just due to her age, but due to the nature of her work. I reckon it'll become very hard on her if she's doing Asia Tours every year now, with avex trying to break into Asia with Ayu.

truehappiness 26th December 2008 07:37 PM

I don't think she's going to be changing anything. It seems like MSSL was just canceled because it was like, the day after/day of the accident or something (the 26th). She's still performing at Kouhaku, so we should assume that CDL is going on as planned and she'll probably be on some insane amount of painkillers during the performance.

Ayumi27 26th December 2008 07:48 PM

Poor Ayu, I feel so bad for her, I really hope she can take a rest

jimex289 26th December 2008 07:49 PM

Oh great...so she's going to be all drugged up. Pain is there to warn us of further harm to the body...not a good idea to get rid of it in order to do something risky =|.

Jeremy911 26th December 2008 08:01 PM

She should rename the concert, and do it in late January, Or february. Honestly i really don't want to watch Ayu perform with such an injury. I would much rather NOT see PCDL then to see her push herself so hard:(

visionfactory 26th December 2008 08:06 PM

:tired.. I hope she will get fine soon!

chocopockymaster 26th December 2008 08:36 PM

As much as I think Ayu should cancel the show, I doubt she will. She cares too much about her band, dancers, stuff, etc, everyone else who's been putting so much into the show, and to top it off she doesn't want to let her fans down.

She better have some serious drugs on hand come Dec. 30th and 31st.

FeNgZhEnG 26th December 2008 08:46 PM

omg tis is horrible...get well soon Ayu~!

I totally agree :yes

guys PCDL its a stupid thing compared to Ayu's health ;_;

SunshineSlayer 26th December 2008 09:01 PM

I was wondering what had happened. I went to download the MS superlive and I saw that Ayu wasn't listed as a peformer so I knew something must have happened.

How terrible. :( I wonder how this will effect CDL?

I really hope this teaches her though that it really doesn't make sense for her to be up all night and then at 6 am say things like "Oh shoot I have a tv performormance tomorrow!" Resting is much more important especially if she is concerned about giving good performances.

I wish her well and a fast recovery.

I totally agree with you too and I would like all fans think alike, do we care more Ayu as an artist or as a person? Ayu is above any other thing a human being and now she needs a rest -she had surgery just yesterday-

anyway I'm sure Ayu will not cancel PCDL because she thinks more of their fans than in herself, she loves us even more than she to herself... some still don't have realized this and think that Ayu is like a robot, I hope she realizes that it's not and will recover very soon to come back with full force of the world to the stage... GO AYU !!!!

I'm not commenting about your first paragraph. but the statement about the fans being guilty of her injury is ridiculous. in case you didn't notice, no one pushes her to do anything since she is her own boss. "she likes to make her own choices" has been said more than once. Her dedication to fans is something i find really sweet, but that dedication is not an excuse to push herself to the limit. In any case, going to those extremes has been her choice, not ours. We are not deciding what songs she should play or what places to perform, right? We have said many times she pushes herself too much, and here are the consequences. Plus, saying we decide for her is like saying she is not able to decide for herself. She is the one who needs to understand she does too much, not us.

Thank You for some voice of reason here...

njanjayrp 26th December 2008 09:48 PM

I don't think that the fans are guilty Ayu works to much, she does love her work after all. And it is kinda sad that some people only think about the CDL, as much as I would love to see it, her health comes first as there is no point in doing stuff if she's gonna end up dead or hurt in any way.

Bigtop 26th December 2008 10:20 PM

Sure, this is really a heated discussion. I think we should calm down for now...

By the way, if anyone really watched the entire MSSL, there isn't even EXILE on the "party". That's really weird...

sitara 26th December 2008 10:21 PM

^ wow.... 0.o

stop fighting people. send her positive thoughts instead!
and i don't think she will cancel her pcdl, she always (and sadly) pushes herself to the limit. i do hope she will go on vacation soon and take some much needed rest! :(

Kaiouforever 26th December 2008 10:31 PM

Poor Ayu...I am praying that she is recovering and doing well. =[

Bigtop 26th December 2008 10:43 PM

I think she should cancel the PCDL but not the Kouhaku. I think she should be okay with her left hand doing the Mirrorcle World performance there but the PCDL is too risky to move on for her.

flyingpotato__ 26th December 2008 10:50 PM

its okay if she doesnt perform in music station!
i think she should cancel the CDL as well
pain killers have side affects :S

get well soon!

hayasaki 26th December 2008 11:11 PM

Tune in to keyholetv TV Asahi now - they're talking about this incident now!!!

MissElin_ 26th December 2008 11:35 PM

OMG!! Poor Ayu! I hope she will take care of herself more after this. And I hope that she wont feel pain too long and that she will get well soon.
Wellwell, Shurley I wonder about CDL but if she cant pull it off I understand, but I wont mind if she just stands on the same spot the whole night, singing and let the dancers dance and entertain the night long. :)

Ganbette ne Ayu!

xLitax 26th December 2008 11:55 PM

This is terrible. :no

Ayumiko 27th December 2008 12:13 AM

I just hope ayu will recover soon. I think ayu is in the situation where she can't cancel the cdl even if its better if she does. The tickets are sold out and she probably doesn't want to cancel it to disappoint her fans that's been looking forward to it. She must feel horrible right now knowing that the cdl won't be perfect like how she wanted it to be for her fans. If it does goes on, I hope they'll change some of the performances to more simple ones. I don't mind if its like the TA limited live. I hope ayu won't push herself too hard. :(

Rainbow141 27th December 2008 12:28 AM

Oh my, poor Ayu! She really shouldn't be so worried about whether or not she can perform but more concerned about her recovery! It's ok, Ayu, please just have a safe recovery. ^^;

Handjan 27th December 2008 12:30 AM

Poor Ayu, I hope her injury isn't too serious and she will recover successfully.

Of course, I want to see PCDL, but if she cansels it, I won't disagree

Spoiler:
I can't understand why everybody is so angry at Shiso?
That's his own point of view.

Actually I agree with him.

I think Ayu won't cansel PCDL hand injury isn't so terrible as leg, but she managed to perform with that injury.
I don't know what type of injury she has but according to my experience - one week and she will take mikrophone+may be doctor meant rest for her hand for 3 weeks

Hello Ayumi please dont blame your self you have done more then enough for all of your fans including me, its ok just rest now untill your full recovery is done then I know youl be stronger then ever. I hope ayu gets well

and to all people who believe she is lazy....
she's NOT ....

sorry I got a little over on here but I was saying mostly to last.fm comments..... but I just don't want to comment there....

♥ you! 27th December 2008 01:29 AM

It was around this time last year that we learned Ayu had her ear problem + she lost her #1 album streak. Well this is all Ayu's fault, she really needs to take time off.

Hope she gets better though.

Zemus 27th December 2008 01:32 AM

Sounds serious. I hope that she won't push herself too hard... :( If needed she should probably cancel the CDL imo. I will wish for her recovery!

To answer that, I could only think of Johnny's Entertainment, they hold annual countdowns where its members perform (with the exception of SMAP). Seiko Matsuda has done annual CDLs at the end of the year for the past six years too.

emi♡ 27th December 2008 01:38 AM

^thanks for answering the question :)

I wish more artists would do it. But then...we do run the risk of them sucking i guess :laugh

Poor Ayu! I hope she will be fine, She is a strong person and she knows it!!! Please Ayu take more care about yourself!!!!

se7entheaven 27th December 2008 02:00 AM

at least it's not her leg anymore so she still can dance and use her left hand to hold the mic if she really wanna perform IMO

Chibi_Venus 27th December 2008 02:14 AM

It almost seems... I don't know, ironic how she hurt her hand before this (long) CDL. Maybe it's a sign saying she shouldn't go through with it, or make it that long.

My best wishes to you, Ayu!

kuri♥ayu 27th December 2008 02:18 AM

ayu... T-T

i come home from work and this...

please get better soon!! <3

Artists such as -insert all of JE here- do a countdown live.. as well as like, Mai Kuraki and some other select artists. I don't think more than 5 have one though.

extepan 27th December 2008 02:58 AM

Sorry about that. Hopefully she recovers well and have a better year in 2009.

yagovg 27th December 2008 03:49 AM

Today moorning I saw a new message. I was expecting her to tell something about her christmas night... maybe her thoughts about the concert that is pretty near... but when I started to read, it said that ayu had an injury, she had just taken surgery on her hand.. and that stuff.

Well, I didn't care a da** about her performances, I just stayed like "What?? Noo Ayu!! but, how could this happen? ayu.. ayu..." I just felt like if someone told me "It has happend to your mother" (which is kinda exagerated but this is how i felt, i really felt bad and very worried). I mean that I only thought on her health, on her "ayu person". When i started to read the comments, all of them had the same subject: What about the CDL?? you know, when i saw that, i thought "**** the da** CDL, is ayu what matters".

If she cancells the concert it would be the best thing that she could do, but we all know that this isn't going to happen. We know ayu and we know that she will want to do her best, she kinda feels like she must do it for her fans.

I also want to say, that i dont feel guilty for what happened to her (as someone said). I am here to bring her my most truly feeling of warm, i just wish she has a good healing and please, stop complaining about her performances, let's see what she does and let's respect her actions. At least she's 30 isn't she? She can think by herself, and she knows perfectly what she is doing.

I felt very very bad because she seemed so happy with that event, she was everyday leting us clues about the songs she was going to put on the concert, saying that she had gone over a new and tiring rehearsal....
and that came to happen. I feel sorry for her, think about how she might feel.

Ayu, we true fans are with you, feel our warm hugs and please take care of you, you are very important to us, at least you became more important to me than i had ever thought.

neuteka 27th December 2008 03:53 AM

oh ayumi!!!! I hope you get better soon!

lumieregrl 27th December 2008 03:57 AM

I hope she cancels and concentrates on healing..praying for a speedy recovery.

Although even if she uses a headset mic, how will be she be with pain meds? :\

mui-gei-tal 27th December 2008 04:09 AM

my poor ayuuuuuuu T-T i hope she recovers soon! it must have been so painful!

does that mean she needs to miss out on kouhaku!? i hope she could perform thing since kouhaku is such a big thing for japanese artists...

stef_gal 27th December 2008 04:11 AM

Ayu should get more rest...
poor her...the fall was really painfull...
hope that she will recover soon...

majrakun 27th December 2008 04:27 AM

I feel so sorry for Ayu. I'm sure she was as excited as we were for the PCDL. I'm worried that if she does decide to go on with PCDL, she's going to put more pressure on herself to try to perform her best with her broken arm.

BTW, I checked Zin's blog to see if he has any say on this matter, and it seems that he made a post for the TA members. If anyone cares to translate, in case it has any relation to this incident, please do!

rusuke 27th December 2008 04:40 AM

OMG!!!! Ayu!!!! this is horrible!!! I hope Ayu will have enough time to recover. And definitely, she should cancel her PCDL. If not, she can't give a best performance for her beloved fans...

oneheart 27th December 2008 04:47 AM

Wow. It really sounds like she does care about us.

Is it actually her that writes it?

k21sh3n 27th December 2008 05:47 AM

should we just make a petition for her not to perform both Kouhaku and CDL, so that she could take a proper rest??

and someone please translate Peco's blog http://rockn-rose-peco.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/ she's talking bout Ayu and I think Zin also write about Ayu on his last entry http://ameblo.jp/zingown

bluecyclone 27th December 2008 06:22 AM

POOR AYUUUUUUUUUUUUU :-( I think the headset mic will save the PCDL performace, but i think her safety is more important... i don't think she will enjoy singing with pain :/ :( :( :( :( :(

PoetGirl 27th December 2008 06:29 AM

i hope she start to think clearly and finally get some rest! ayu please take for urself

hiroshi_ben 27th December 2008 06:40 AM

angelwing886 27th December 2008 07:52 AM

i hope ayu will get better soon

jimex289 27th December 2008 08:03 AM

I'm just glad the injury was to limited just to her hand and not something more serious...like a concussion.

kirei_ayumi 27th December 2008 08:14 AM

ah~ man...I hope she's okay
might have to cancel the CDL considering 3 weeks recovery... :(
gosh, I hope not :(

ayutrancefan 27th December 2008 08:24 AM

Well Ive been an Ayu fan for about 11 years. And Im realy saddened to hear this but one this is for sure if the concert did not take place I would not care why because Ayumi's well being is more important, whatever she decides to do is the right decision she cannot risk her self working extra hard, she hardly takes a break. So I think this time she should wait for a while and see how her hand reacts if the doctors say she should be out for 3 weeks then so be it. its a accident they happen to every one, just be thank full that she's alive right? so why worry about the concert then. I do hope that she will have a good recovery and I hope Ayu fans also see it the way I see it, shes given you fans more then enough please be happy with that this is one time shes going to need us all to help her pull through you can disagree with me if you like but I think if you love and respect her you will care only for her safty not the concert, concerts can always be re schedualed:) btw does any one know how she fell what caused all this? all I heard was Fatigue but theres got to be more where was she when this happened?

ohsixthirty 27th December 2008 08:25 AM

wow...i'm really sorry to hear about this. i don't want her to cancel PCDL, but i worry about her, especially because she seems like she is being really hard on herself.

:(

plus i worry that like in Dome Tour when she fell, she will go ahead and perform anyway and risk further injury...

Of course she cares about you guys she wouldn't do this if it wasn't for her fans, shes very sad but this is one time she will have to stop and think I dont want her to be in pain, concert doesnt matter Ayumi does. Not all stars are dedicated to her fans like she is there is only one Ayumi Hamasaki! No star in the world can do half of the things Ayu does!

Its not God, god every time makes a sacrifice thats what our hero Ayumi Hamasaki does and has done for many years Ayumi pushes her self too much for the fans so may be this time the fans should respect Ayus decision if she decides to cancell the concert at this point they shouldn't care about it I'd rather see her in top form rather in pain.

Gus-tave 27th December 2008 08:58 AM

Scary... I hope she's doing OK... I'll be praying for her.

rakeru 27th December 2008 09:01 AM

...could she be more clumsy? seriously! she's going to disable herself the next time. poor Ayu, get well soon!!

Ayumi Hamasaki injures hand; in doubt for Red and White Singing Contest

Saturday 27th December, 11:59 AM JST

TOKYO —
Singer Ayumi Hamasaki, 30, has injured her right hand, and with only four days to go until NHK’s Red and White Singing Contest, she is in a race against time to recover and take to the stage to lead off the New Year’s Eve show. NHK announced Friday the order of songs for New Year’s Eve, and it would be the first time in the show’s history if the opening artist were to be unable to perform.

According to her agency Avex Group, Hamasaki fell down the stairs at her apartment on Wednesday and injured her right hand. Staff took her to hospital where she received medical attention, and on Thursday she underwent surgery. Hamasaki later had to cancel her live performance at TV Asahi’s “Music Station Super Live 2008” on Friday night. Her doctors say the injury will take three weeks to heal, and her fall was caused by anemia exacerbated by fatigue.

Hamasaki wrote on her blog: “I can’t even hold a microphone. I’m really upset and truly sorry I couldn’t make it to ‘Music Station.’” In addition to the Red and White Singing Contest, she is scheduled to perform on the 30th and 31st at Yoyogi National Stadium. “I just have to believe in my strength, and hope my body can heal before then,” she wrote.

Shin Ishihara, chief producer of the Red and White Singing Contest, said: “We wanted to open the show in a certain style and Hamasaki was going to do that for us. But now we’ll have to wait and see.”

Rehearsals will be held on Monday, where it will become clear if Hamasaki will open the New Year’s Eve show as scheduled.
