My copy of the album just shipped today! I bought the limited edition, so I can't wait to look through the photo book and the documentary. I cheated and downloaded the album first, and テトテトメトメ and I have a dream are my favourite tracks. I have a dream is probably the closest thing to a pop ballad that the group has ever done (IMO) and its absolutely gorgeous!

better than the first day of Seventh Heaven

The new album is fabulous. It's better than the first one. I was really surprised to find oriental music in it.
Red moon is my favorite song .She is really beautiful and a little dark.

LOL I downloaded the album a couple nights ago but I'm just barely listening to it xD! So far it's really good! It's too early for me to make comparisons to Seventh Heaven though.

And #4 is awesome! Go Kalafina!!! And god, I love Wakana's voice :luv2.

EDIT: Well I finished the album and I think Seventh Heaven is better...but maybe I just need to get used to this album a little more. My favorite song by far was Te to Te to Me to Me.

I wasn't expecting single news for a while yet. I'm still getting my fill of the amazingness epic incredibleness that is Red Moon (now I know how the RnRC lovers felt when M/b was announced :laugh) but this is great news none the less can't wait to hear.

@Yoake: Sadly, I must agree. The RM era PV's were better but they still have to do a lot better to get me excited about a PV.

Well as far as I know, their albums and singles tend to debut in the Top 10 or Top 15, they performed at Anime Boston here in the states and recently, they've been invited to the fall ANIMAX MUSIX live event so I assume this all means that they're popular... at least, with the otaku. lol XD

I love the covers! I'm new to Kalafina, btw. I really love red moon and Hikari no Senritsu. I have a question though, who is the girl that starts singing at the very beginning of HnS? I simply adore her voice like crazy.

Hikaru. <333 I adore her voice as well. She's my favorite. :luv2 You should really hear sprinter (if you haven't already), she does a lot of the verses in that song too and it's just an incredible song overall. One of their best.

You'll learn their voices soon enough. Their voices are so distinctive, once you find out which girl sings what part to a song you'll be able to tell them apart for every other song.

Wakana= 1st soprano, operatic voice, mostly leads ballads/slower songs (fairytale, serenato, oblivious, Lacrimosa)

Hikaru= 2nd soprano, 'happy' voice, mostly leads faster paced/cheerful songs (progressive, sprinter, storia, Hikari no Senritsu)

Keiko= deep alto, mostly does harmonies w/ the other two but has lead a few (Te to Te to Me to Me, Ongaku, Yami no Uta)

I love Hikaru. <33333 She was an instant fav from the moment I heard sprinter. I'm just a sucker for girls with her type of voice. Wakana's voice is really pretty and soothing. Keiko used to be my least fav but after hearing red moon and Yami no Uta, I absolutely love her voice now. :luv2 All their voices are uniquely beautiful though, don't have a negative opinion of either of them.

I wish Maya was still with them... as much as I love Hikki's voice in sprinter, her part is my favorite and I have a feeling that if she had stayed she'd be my favorite member. :P

haha, I love Wakana! She's easily my favorite. I love the operatic tone of her voice. But I love their voices, all of them, when compared to the big scheme of J-Pop. They're so distinct, but they all blend well together. It's crazy! Kajiura Yuki is kind of a master at finding good singers and composing.

But yeah...I love the new song. Just watched the latest episode of Kuroshitsuji II and squealed when I heard it.

The leader of Kalafina of course is Yuki Kajiura herself, and the 3 members consisting Hikaru, Keiko, and Wakana (See my avatar XD).
Keiko and Wakana already worked with Kajiura before with FictionJunction project, while Hikaru is new, so I can say that Kalafina is mostly about Hikaru (listen to sprinter)

In Yuki Kajiura Live Vol. 4, Hikaru is there, along FictionJunction members, but Hikaru didn't credited as FictionJunction because she's that Kalafina, so I would say that Kalafina is mostly about Hikaru XD

About Keiko always being in the center, she's the most attractive, that's obvious XD

But to be honest, I got bored seeing Keiko recently, her style (her face) is never changed.
Her hairstyle always looks the same.

Wakana is changing, and so Hikaru. Since Hikaru is new, it's quite interesting to see her~

That's an interesting way of looking at it, lol and convenient for me since Hikaru's my favorite. She does tend to lead most of the singles as well (sprinter/ARIA, Hikari no Senritsu, progressive, storia, Kagayaku), so I'll agree with your theory. XD

Yeah, I didn't want to say it and possibly offend some Keiko fans though she's a great vocalist, that's obviously the reason she's always in the middle lol.

I haven't had the chance to see any interviews/ behind the scenes stuff to get a good grasp on their personalities but on stage, Keiko kind of seems a bit shy but energetic, Hikaru is pretty theatrical and bubbly, and Wakana seems like she'd be the mature and demure type. But again, this is just what it looks like on stage to me. lol

Yeah, that's why I think Kalafina is focused in Hikaru, she's the brand new singer for Kajiura herself. :D
