hitomi never really had such high sales or hit singles, and yet avex still kept her until now. so i think she won't retire anytime soon :yes

^ indeed, the last hit she had was Garnet Moon in 2005, she was even invited to all the year-end shows that year. And I think that her pre Heart & Symphony sales were just fine :)

Yeah, when I first got in Hitomi's music, Perseus was her latest single, and she was really popular. But now her popularity has faded... :(

can those who have bought Best & covers.. do you all have this issue or is it just my dvd's fault?

I didn't bought the Best & cover but I think that your dvd have a problem.

She had some hits, but she was never someone like namie amuro, ayumi hamasaki, koda kumi or even ai otsuka. Her sales were always very fluctuating and she had no regular sales pattern. One of her singles never charted higher than 30, but had quite high sales due to the long chart run, aome other esp animé tie ins were front heavy. This makes it seem to me like she never really aquired a large body of cpnsistent followers. The good sales of her cover album points in the same direction.

I think it went down hill after her first best album (popularity wise), despite many of her absolutely best song being released after it. So I hope we get to hear more from her, as I love her voice.

^Hitomi's cover is SO much better than the original in my opinion. After seeing that PV and the PV for 君がいるだけで it's nice to see Avex still has plans and a nice budget for her.

I'm happy that she's finally releasing something new but AVEX needs to give her a bigger budget. She has loads of talent and they're not even trying to tap into it.
