it's usually to 'rest' the vocal, or rest other things up like dancers. it's also works as a 'break' in between ^^ anyway many singers use it, esp taiwanese singers...but they are worse, coz they start the show with hype up song then the 2nd number is a boring ballad *yawns*

I think that for ballads they have to sing a lot more than for the faster songs... so maybe just rest from dancing and jumping around? vocals never rest, less rest talking about ballads lol

I just rewatched Ayu's a-nation performance from last year.
I don't mind A song for XX if it's like in 2008. But I doubt it will be epic like that with the rain and the whole atmosphere.
I could do without Grateful days though, I just don't like that song much.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with this year, Rule, Blue Bird, Boys&Girls, Sunrise, July 1st... yeah!

I just really wish Ayu would change her a-nation setlist much more. She has such a big discography to select from, it's a pity.

I dunno, with a-nation, you can only really select from a niche group of your songs. Like, look at TRF. They have a big discography, but they only perform a few old singles and Boy meets girl/CRAZY GONNA CRAZY/EZ Do Dance/Survival dAnce/Where to begin a whoooooooooollle lot. If you look at artist's setlists, they usually have songs that have been repeated since their first a-nation appearance. I think they try to cater to everyone in the audience with well-received songs rather than try to be ~cool~ and vary themselves with obscure album tracks [when really, people would just leave during their set haha]~

Summary of the performance. ASFXX had a stand mic as usual, the chorus of Rule was acappella, dancers were like the Rule PV, spinning A mark for the intro [I think]~

I see something about a watercolored A-line dress for BLUE BIRD.. and a mermaid dress that reveals her stomach for TO BE? HAHAHA. Blue boots and some other stuff for the encore. God, I have no idea how to read some of this katakana speak. Because she sins so well in Sunrise, it should be no problem to do a MUSIC STATION performance. Blah! Shu-ya dances for TO BE again. Can we just injure him temporarily..? Hahaha. Oh, blue hat and blue boots for Greatful.

The blue 2 piece outfit reminds me of SEASONS and the encore outfit reminds me of energize.

The TO BE one is definitely just a-nation '05's is this LOVE/HANABI outfit with a mermaid skirt. Hopefully they change it. People said her vocal for TO BE was great, but the outfit was hideous hahahaha.

The rockish one really fits to ASfxx and Rule it's like we already know what she sings in that.

The blue dress reminds me fairyland (not the PV) positively, looks classy somehow.

The encore outfits is <333333 I could do without the blue hat but it's nothing horrible.

There's something wrong with her bangs, it's so Ayu-unlike. I don't like her look but the set list is good and I hope the vocal is good too.

It's very Ayu-like.. just super retro. She had that style of fringe for her first tour, haha.

The thick bangs does remind me of her 2000 concert hair...it looks weird now coz it needs to be a little bit longer? and her eyebrows need to be thicker and reshaped. She used to have really really nicely shaped eyebrows.

I just hope that we will see TO BE in TV or DVD version... They can cut this performance such as theme of a-nation'03 or monochrome

Someone messed up on her eyebrows. Usually they're thicker in the inner part of her face and get thinner as you go out, but this time they're like.. drawn on.. weird..

I'm suprised Ayu hasn't realized yet that she really doesn't have much in terms of waist and hips and therefor never really looks good in one piece outfits and belts only play up her negative point. The hair isn't really workin' for her either.
The last outift isn't bad though.

In general though I feel she's been looking different lately, though I can't put my finger on exactly what the thing is.
