shuya is dancing ATM, so i have time to reflect my thoughts til now...

Rule: ok, but a little boring
A Song for XX: great, but i had video and audio errors most in this one...
BLUE BIRD: AMAZING!!!
Sunset: Suddenly like the song!
TO BE: suddenly liked it as well...but then came shuya xD
TO BE instrumental part: lovely, but shuya sucks xD

Tasked 26th September 2009 02:44 PM

The new car for Boys&Girls is SOOOOO much better than other years

Tasked 26th September 2009 02:47 PM

lol and she's waving her Tohoshinki-towel o.O

^that's funny :P

I only saw the intro for Rule but I love it
After saw Boys&Girls I can't say Ayu has loose popularity =D
in sunrise the program failed again :/

Lanz16 26th September 2009 02:51 PM

yup! she's waving tohoshinki's towel instead of hers. :laugh

I LOVE the Sunrise in that performance!

noidea 26th September 2009 02:55 PM

I loved how she was showing that tohoshinki towel xD

while watching Rule i expected this a-nation to turn out to be VERY bad, but I must say...I really liked it so far!(And July 1st wont through away my opinion xD)
Boys and Girls has a much nicer car than before, I actually enjoyed Sunrise!(not the song, but the happiness you saw on ayu, the dancers, the band and the audience)

miroro 26th September 2009 03:01 PM

to be was fantastic!! i nearly cried
and ayu with the toho towel was :heart haha

i loved every perfomance in this a-nation!!

Lanz16 26th September 2009 03:02 PM

So far, I enjoy it so much!!!
I 'll definitely watch it again next year!!!

noidea 26th September 2009 03:02 PM

^ Now I hope WOWOW decides to show AT09 xD

spanishfan 26th September 2009 03:05 PM

First of all, thankyou LostHeaven for the link ^^
Second (lol) The first half of the show i saw with cuts but i liked what i saw
the second half was... *·* I think overall is one of her best vocals in all songs, she had so much fun, I really was amazed when i saw the change of dress for TO BE.
I just can't wait to see it well, just waiting for someone who could upload it.
Really enjoy this concert, I think NL tour would be amazing too.

Yes I particularly love that moment.
That a-nation is so cool and nice. I love the float so much!!!!

waterballoon 26th September 2009 03:09 PM

omg I beg for an upload on youtube in the next few days T_T

Tasked 26th September 2009 03:09 PM

It was indeed better than last year.. I watched it in great streaming quality, with no glitches at all..
Rule: really nice intro.. Didnt even hate the male dancers that much in the into. GREAT vocals.
ASFXX: Identicle to AT08, with the wow-ing and yea-ing..
BB: New choreography. Lame, but nice
Sunset: ... hmm... boring
TO BE: Nice vocals... but... nothing special
Boys&girls: The cart she's on looks REALLY luxurious. And it's nice that she had the tohoshinki-towel.. Just to show that she's not a competative person
Sunrise: Yea... nice try...
July 1st: Very uplifting. And the fireworks were awesome at the end.

CeReSu 26th September 2009 03:21 PM

This a-nation (ayu part only) was very great and cool!
Vocal sound great to the beginning from the end, congrats Ayu!

Aderianu 26th September 2009 03:23 PM

I upload LQ video here

It had to do with votes of the audience I think not the rating of the show

noidea 26th September 2009 04:24 PM

^ if thats really so it perfectly makes sense, because the performances was horrible BUT somebody else already explained that in fact it was the viewers rating, AND htat the first performance of Kouhaku always has a lower rating, because...well, its the first! people forget to watch it...people change channels too late(because they dont care for the first few minutes of people talking)...etcetera

Saving her best for CDL? I don't know... maybe she doesn't have time to do the vocal exercises she does before a performance?

waterballoon 26th September 2009 06:36 PM

^ I thought Moments was pretty good... it started sounding weird from JEWEL onwards, which is 2006 I believe.

I DID like JEWEL, but I think that Moments was possibly her best Kohaku.

noidea 26th September 2009 06:48 PM

@waterballoon
yeah, Moments was somewhat weak(mostly volume-wise), but definitly not bad

waterballoon 26th September 2009 07:00 PM

JEWEL was okay but I noticed she sounded like she's gasping for oxygen lol and yeah I think my favorite Kouhaku moment is Moments...

Which made me realize she kinda "needs" a winter single right? Cos she can't be singing Sunset at Kouhaku and upbeat Kouhaku = wtf (fairyland... *cringes*)...

Anyway, I'm praying a-nation would be on youtube... I don't wanna download

Ayu_Ready 26th September 2009 09:01 PM

one her best live I love she gives energize =D

love in music 26th September 2009 09:42 PM

i hope someone will upload HQ soon
just from the clips, everything looks amazing. i teared up @ ASFXX

and THIS is why they show all of her performances. they're too amazing to be left out.

zyoeru 26th September 2009 10:50 PM

O' My God. I just watched and wow, they were amazing, her vocal performance was excellent, I think Boys & Girls and Sunrise were AMAZING vocally, considering they're hard to sing. My only qualm is that Shu-ya very nearly ruined TO BE. :P

aura~ 27th September 2009 02:55 AM

wooow!! I've just seen a-nation 09... AMAZING performance!! Ayu's vocals have been almost perfect in all songs.. maybe Rule/Sunrise not like the rest, but still good!! I've noticed that she have been more expresive this time... I don't know... I found that she was doing more movements and faces than other times ^^

POWERFUL-EMOTIONAL-FUN!!! that's how this performance is, and that's how she always is!!!!

Crystal_Ageha 27th September 2009 02:58 AM

I think all the performances were really good, all around. I thought it was a nice setlist, and the performances themselves were really fun with great vocals. :) Except, there were too many dancers (specifically for Rule, lol). But I should be used to that by now, I guess. >_<'

I agree with that. She really wasn't that bad at Kohaku prior to Jewel. And yes, I agree with noidea that it was indeed one of her worst ever. (I don't see that as rude either, its just what I thought of the performance) She missed the opening and then her vocals were very very off throughout. (especially if you have viewed the .ts file of the performance where the vocals are much more clear in the file.)

emi♡ 27th September 2009 03:28 AM

MW was one of the worst performances I've ever seen by an artist, mostly because it was just so embarrassing. And then I felt bad for her the audience seemed bored. I was embarrassed for her, it was hard to watch.

I know she was high and sick for the performance...so that just kinda made it more sad.

I'm pretty mad about the setlist...but I mean...whatever. I don't listen to half the artists there, but I do think it's unfair. Ayu's always been on another level than those other artists as well...so i guess it's not really like unexpected or anything.

I got this thread mixed up with another thread lol

waterballoon 27th September 2009 06:25 AM

About the MW Kouhaku performance... anyone ever thought it might the side effects of some painkillers that she's taking for her injured hand that caused the um off-pitchness, coming in early and all that? I thought that was the reason...

Anyway, I thought they could at least afford to take B&G out, unless it was that connected with Sunrise or whatever that cutting it would make things look awkward. O.o

love in music 27th September 2009 06:32 AM

that MW performance was pretty bad vocally, it sounded like she smoked a pack of cigarettes before the live lol
but her JEWEL performance there was awesome omg.

waterballoon 27th September 2009 06:37 AM

omg how do you guys download the whole a-nation?

Meat Pao 27th September 2009 06:47 AM

^ torrent at jpopsuki..????

waterballoon 27th September 2009 06:53 AM

I was quite disappointed with ASFXX...I mean it was definitely better than a-nation 2006...but last year...she sang her heart out...this year...she didnt seem so powerful...but overall still great!

how do you explain her being better in PCDL then? it began a very short time later and she sang 30 songs, so she probably was ion stronger painkillers for that concert than for that single performance earlier

ayumisrael 27th September 2009 11:59 AM

Wow ayu was great vocally on this a-nation.

I really liked Rule live, it was a potential disaster but ended up being one of the greatests of this a-nation.

A Song for xx was powerful as always <3
Not as last year I think but ayu still did vocal shizzes which brought the powerful feeling so I liked it.

Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~ sounded soooo good with ayu's normal and not cute voice, I like the studio version but I think the live one is wayyy better.

Shuya flailed on TO BE.
Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~ was really pretty, and the whole show had huge energy in it.

Btw the opening of ayu's section/Rule is one the bests. I really liked it personally.

Keiichi_JPU 27th September 2009 12:18 PM

HOLY **** RULE WAS AMZING O____O

Can't wait to see the rest!!

OMG This performance TOTALLY makes up for the ugly Sunrise/Sunset covers :laugh

SHE'S STILL THE QUEEN :luv2

She could be taking painkillers that last "long"... you know the "long-lasting" kinds lol, but I'm not sure either; I'm sure she has consumed painkillers at least for that night...

Anyway my a-nation torrent is completed. :D Gonna watch it soon!

jbrat2219 27th September 2009 05:32 PM

I'M WATCHING A-NATION NOW AND I'M IN TEARS!!!!!! SHE'S SOOOOOOOOO GOOD <3

I think this is what happens when I haven't seen Ayu perform in a long time I get all emotional! xD; (I haven't even seen AT08 yet!!! D: )

Yumsushi 27th September 2009 10:56 PM

Sounds like she put on a fantastic show. Gotta watch it.

Evolution7/4 27th September 2009 10:58 PM

Yes... yes we can, all day! xD; Her vocals were STELLAR throughout and when she belted out that last "YEAH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" I got chills xD;

I like how ninja-like the dancers were and how one popped up from the stage!

I also loved the alarms before the performance too!!! It was like, ring the alarm because Ayu's about to bring the house down!!!!

the other performances were booooring :no

Crystal_Ageha 28th September 2009 03:54 AM

Aaaaa, now I wanna watch Rule again!!!

love in music 28th September 2009 08:11 AM

^ lmao i've watched it a lot of times. still ****ing amazing every time omg. she owns that stage <3

Not~Yet 28th September 2009 01:30 PM

Oh yeah I loved the siren sound just before she showed up! Though if I had been at the concert I probably would have freaked out like "OMG what's happening??" and not realizing it's a part of the show xD And lol I'm not even sure why, but for some reason that outfit must be one of my faves. I just love the color, the details, the shinyness. And am I the only one who loves her hair like that? xD Cmon, 80's is back.

Also, I think Rule has one of the best coreographies out of her songs. Even though Rule's rock and all that, it just flows so well. Paired up with that ninja theme - :love.

And yet one thing, I love how loud the bass and drums are in this live version. xD

Corvina 28th September 2009 07:05 PM

I just watched Rule and I'm not that excited about it...
Her voice isn't good. It isn't bad either, but she can do much better than this. And the performance...she's just standing trough almost the whole song! And the little dancing she did is so simple.
I love the song, but I'm disappointed with this performance.
I really don't know why everyone is saying this performance is glorious.

I'm going to watch the rest now.

Evolution7/4 28th September 2009 07:53 PM

The whole show is outstanding. Energetically and vocally.

Crystal_Ageha 28th September 2009 11:10 PM

:O :O :O Corvina, you didn't LOVE Rule!? Blasphemy!!

SunshineSlayer 28th September 2009 11:31 PM

lol yeah i never really expect her to dance. but even just standing there moving her arms around and moving a bit, which would probably seem boring to most, imo she makes it look powerful, dramatic and entertaining.. if that makes sense

zyoeru 29th September 2009 01:50 AM

I'm sure Ayu had previously stated years ago she hated dancing?

gothicayu 29th September 2009 04:40 AM

YEAH a song for xx and to be i cant wait to watch this live !!!

Yumsushi 29th September 2009 05:52 AM

Lol. Touchy subject. :lech

I think they get her to end the show because she's somebody that EVERYBODY knows. Combine that with the fact that she always does at least one classic that, even if they're tired of Ayu, the general public loves, and she always has very energetic performances. She's just a great performer to end the show with.

I don't take her for someone else. Ayu did dance, there are enough performances with her dancing. She was never perfect or oustanding with it, she never did it insanely often, but I enjoyed it when she put really effort in it (like in Inspire/AT 2005 or Real me PV). Rule is a fast, powerful song and she even danced more in the Rule PV than she did here. I like dancing and it's kind of boring watching her standing and singing even if she waved her arms eneregtically.
Didn't you guys notice that she did similar hand moves like in her Mirrorcle World performances? ._.

So, I watched all now:

Rule: I still don't get too much vibe from it. It's ok, but not her best.
A Song for xx: About the same like last year. Powerful, great vocals, I really like it, but nothing can beat the performance from last year!
Blue Bird: It's nice. She sounds a bit weird in the beginning, but the vocals are good. I like the end with all the dancers making the same moves with her.
Sunset: Boring. I don't like the song much and this performance doesn't help.
To Be: Great vocals! I enjoyed it until Shuya got his part...And please Ayu, stop this overdramatic acting. It's just at the end luckily.
Boys&Girls:Great energy. The ship is nice, I like it that they changed it this time.^^
Sunrise: Haha, it's great how she shows and waves Tohoshinki's towel. It's a nice move to get their fans on your side.
July 1st: Nice ending. I like how happy she is (similar in Blue Bird).

Overall great, but I enjoyed last year's a-nation more.

A last word:
I don't like any of the outfits (except the encore) and her hair. :/

nanakopy87 29th September 2009 11:52 AM

lol.ya..the best costume is the encore and the best hair style,IMO is encore too.
TO BE costume also not bad

Stars come and go, Ayu has been hanging in there for the longest time, she has bigger hits than Kumi and DBSK will most likely ever have.

oneheart 29th September 2009 10:39 PM

DBSK are still fairly new so I wouldn't knock them.
Kumi has had her share as well.

I think neither of the aforementioned artist are going anywhere soon. Same with Ayu.

Crystal_Ageha 30th September 2009 05:16 AM

^ As much as I love Kumi, she will never rise to what Ayumi has become, I don't think. :\ Afterall, she's one of the many stars who got a boost from an anime/video game. (Those artists very rarely become "big" stars, let alone legends. Kumi is very fortunate to have nearly reached diva status, so we should be happy with that. Of course, she does deserve it, in my opinion, so maybe she can go nearly as far...) Not sure about how far Tohoshinki may go, but they seem like they may be coming to their peak soon... If not, well crap. O_O

chloeM 30th September 2009 09:06 AM

i watched them on youtube... it was bloody amazing~

Blasterion 30th September 2009 01:08 PM

What happened to him

noidea 1st October 2009 02:48 PM
