Oh I always thought GREEN was an experimental ballad... it's slow, but definitely not 'ballad-ish'... it's very grand though, so it could fit the occasion. :yes

And I just thought of something... last year she performed Mirrorcle World so she didn't sing Days. I guess I would be okay if she sang Days instead, XD

zyoeru 11th October 2009 02:11 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ayumi also perform Boys & Girls at Kouhaku?

waterballoon 11th October 2009 02:12 PM

Wasn't it appears for 1999 instead. Omg I can't really remember, XD

PEARL 11th October 2009 02:31 PM

for 1999 it was boys & girls if im correct?

waterballoon 11th October 2009 02:49 PM

oh dear, XD It appears that I've mixed it up then... sorry!

That's what I wanted to know. I often get confused with which songs she performs since she makes constant appearances on TV.

zyoeru 11th October 2009 03:25 PM

It was her first appearance and she sung Boys & Girls. :)

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%AC%...AD.8C.E6.89.8B

Soooo:

1999: Boys & Girls
2000: SEASONS
2001: Dearest
2002: Voyage
2003: No way to say
2004: Moments
2005: fairyland
2006: JEWEL
2007: Together When...
2008: Mirrorcle World

She's probably gonna sing Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~.

thanks for that! :)

so, if she's singing the most popular song of the year, I bet she will be singing Rule this year -.-

and also, is that when she forgot the lyrics for Voyage??

zyoeru 11th October 2009 03:43 PM

^ Nah, the one where she forgets the lyrics to Voyage is the appearance on "130 million people choose the best artist". :)

JackieRos 11th October 2009 04:14 PM

i dont care how much i love sunset but she better not sing that
i want the new song

waterballoon 11th October 2009 04:46 PM

Wow that's a cool list of hit songs from Ayu! XD Thanks for the info, Joel. :)

Kazeyomi 11th October 2009 06:15 PM

In her last message she said that she have written a new song.. so she'll sing that at Kohaku, I guess.
But I don't know Kohaku's date T_T and if the song will be out before it.

I can't believe eight whole pages have been made with Ayu maybe being in this year's Kouhaku (in which she always is anyways!!) as its focus ( :P ).

Crystal_Ageha 11th October 2009 08:20 PM

I will be really sad if she sings Sunset, lol. D': I'll take any other song off of NEXT LEVEL. Days would be nice, actually. I like how she performs it live. Of course, I want a new song, too, but.. >_<'

yeah, especially when these are just predictions...predictions EVERYBODY made in the same way xD

Keiichi_JPU 11th October 2009 10:50 PM

I don't think she'll do this new song she's been bloggig about. It's too.. new :P too unknown for the Japanese audience.

If she continues with her old ballad-habit, she'll do Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~, or maybe Days / GREEN... VERY maybe :p

If she decides to go 2008 and do a cool up-tempo song again, hopefully she'll do RULE or SPARKLE :luv2 but I better not get my hopes up..

Kouhaku will be taking place on Dec 31st every year & LOL , Tom Punks's gender's female guys 8D

PEARL 12th October 2009 06:04 AM

Sparkle would be good. haha
'no no no'

hope she performs the new song!!~

jbrat2219 12th October 2009 06:17 AM

Somehow I don't see Sparkle being well received... It's too risky. As much as I would rather her not, I think she would be safer with a ballad. Sunset to be more specific. She sings that song extremely well.

You should make a JPS account! Large files such as a-nation, concerts, etc have a freeleech, so that you don't hurt your ratio! I love JPS. :)

So, I guess she'll performing one of the 3 songs.

I just have a slightly hard time keeping track of all the different sites I'm signed up on... ;__;

Although I love Ayu's ballads, I think I'd prefer something a little more upbeat...
And I think that would help make the red team win. xP

truehappiness 12th October 2009 06:50 AM

She'll probably do a new track that she'll be performing at the year end shows. It's a little early to be thinking Sunset will be performed, imo.

SunshineSlayer 12th October 2009 07:28 AM

^ I agree. It will most likely be a new ballad. After the performance of Mirrorcle World last year, I doubt she will be taking any chances with anything other than a ballad.

You're not giving any proof that you know anything, either. All you're doing is trying to call me out, and you're just ending up looking like an obnoxious twit.

No need to throw a tantrum, babe. Mine was in regular debating manner as well. Did I directly insult you? No. It's not my fault if you are offended by my bluntness. Cussing and calling me a twit doesn't make you look any better. And I did call you out-- which is why you're retaliating in such a defensive manner.

For your information, nearly everybody here really liked the a-nation performances. I, myself, love them - the vocals were amazing. And I really don't give a squat if you don't think so, because I know it's true. :)
Are we talking about the same "rule" and "A song for XX" performance? I just cannot agree and I don't care if the majority thinks so. :) That's just an appeal to authority and that doesn't sway me... it's opinion. I can name even more people who think that her vocals were terrible.

Yes, the fact that it's my life passion does pretty much make me an expert (or even if I'm not now, I will be soon), actually, because I've spent literally my entire life learning about and practicing music - from learning how to play at least one instrument in every group, to learning to play by ear, to reaching nearly four octaves in vocal range, to taking theory courses in school, and to using my free time at home to look up whatever I hadn't learned in school, and much more. No, I can't prove it - what, am I supposed to give you web addresses to the type of music lessons I've studied, or maybe the phone numbers to schools I've attended that gave me the courses?--there's no way to prove it, anyhow, so whatever - but I don't want or need to prove it to you,
Right... and yet you can't even tell the difference between lip-synching and live. You're not convincing me of how supposedly knowledgeable you are, hon.

You were the one touting your opinions as absolute FACTS in the first place. You bear the burden of proof, not me.

I'm sorry to say this but you're wrong here. like sunshine said, writing "you don't know what good singing is" was insulting. the idea of great singing is subjective. I have not been in Japan as much as sunshine, but in my last visit i went to Kyoto to see a Bunraku performance... seriously, the show was totally out of this world :laugh i've never heard something like that. In Japan they had a totally different idea of what singing is about , so you cannot say there is only a good way of singing.

and if you are not respectful with others , you have no right to demand respect from them; luckily Sunshine and Karen are very mellow and down to earth, because if the discussion were with some AHS members that won't hold their tongues (and there are several of them here) , you could get a really offensive reply and things could turn out really ugly. (just take a look at the trolls from last.fm) If you say rude things, you'll find rude answers.

I really hope ayu attends this show :luv2 but don't perform sunrise please!!! >.<!!!

KarenPang 13th October 2009 12:54 AM

thanks for the compliment Lady_Eowyn :) . I actually had been 'quiet' here despite reading/keeping myself updated in this thread is because I don't want to start an un-necessary verbal fight in the forums , it will like what you said , turned ugly , pointless & baseless .

& well at the end of the day , everyone I'm sure hopes that she will be performing in Kouhaku

the question that's lingering on everyone's mind's should it be confirmed , what song she's going to do ?

ah decisions decisions decisions

am I the only one who's OK with any song that she chose to do in due time ? o_O

Tom Punks 13th October 2009 01:19 AM

^ I also don't really care what she performs. XD Because I'll probably only watch it once anyways and then never again. I guess I would be disappointed if it were Sunset though, because Sunset is like... probably my third least favorite Ayu song?

Ayumiko 13th October 2009 01:49 AM

It'll make more sense if she performs one of her new songs (most likely a ballad) that's yet to be released...or rule. I actually don't mind another performance of rule..as long as she uses those umbrellas again. :D

Kingdom 13th October 2009 02:51 AM

go red team!!!!

kuu <3 ayu <3 miliyah

zyoeru 13th October 2009 07:08 PM

Don't you have to be invited as a guest to Kouhaku anyway?

Yumsushi 13th October 2009 07:33 PM

All this and we dont have confirmation? Not that Ayu would turn it down, but I am surprised to see Namie's name there. I thought she didn't do Kouhaku anymore, so why do they get people's hopes up?

Andrenekoi 13th October 2009 08:23 PM

^She always is on this list x,x

Thank you for clarifying. I just wonder what is the point of putting people's names down if nothing is confirmed. Do people vote for the artists they like?

zyoeru 13th October 2009 08:59 PM

^ I think it's sort of a...public invite...like say "You can come if you want to" sort of thing.

Andrenekoi 13th October 2009 09:15 PM

Well, as far as I know, NHK invites new artists that received a lot of spotlight during the year and old artists that have a lot of prestige...

Namie said once she doesn't feel like taking part on the show anymore, didn't she?

yep, i read that on wiki as well. guess there are several reasons why she doesn't perform at kouhaku anymore.

i'm pretty sure ayu will come this year though. :D she even performed with a broken hand last year lol.. so no reason for her not to come this year
hopefully miliyah will come as well! i believe it will be her first time if she does :)

noidea 29th October 2009 04:39 PM

^ I seriously doubt that xD Ayu has been on TV shows performing AT LEAST 500 times, namie probably just as much and ayu has been on kouhaku every year since 1999, when I think Namie went there as well

Well, Ayu and Utada went to the same show for the first time on 2006... Even if they had their peaks at the same time (1999~2004), released some of her biggest hits on the same years (Ayu: Boys & Girls, A, Seasons, M, H, Voyage... Hikki: First Love, Addicted to you, Wait & See, Can you keep a secret, Traveling, Hikari, Sakura drops) and Utada promoted a lot more back on First Love ~ Distance eras

Just noticed that on 2001 Hikki had the first and the second best selling singles yearly o_O

noidea 29th October 2009 06:38 PM

Are you sure it really was the FIRST show they went to together? maybe there were others before(like award shows, i'm pretty sure the two biggest female artists of that time went to the same award shows)) but there was just nobody making a big fuss about them being in the same show

Andrenekoi 29th October 2009 09:27 PM

yeah, it was the first time... and it was a big fuss cuz it was the first time...

SunshineSlayer 30th October 2009 01:37 AM

^ Yeah it was actually the first. They never were on the same award shows because Hikki never really went to them.

Namie and Ayu however have been on the same show many times.

Zacek 1st November 2009 01:02 AM

Namie and Ayu in the same stage at the same time? I have to see that!

mcluva420 1st November 2009 06:04 AM

anyways, when is the list out?? :weep

I'm not sure if Ayaka will even go for it, especially after she did her final public solo performance last week...

SunshineSlayer 23rd November 2009 12:38 AM

"Nikkan Sports, <Arashi participates Kohaku, break Johnny’s frame rule> Popular group Arashi breaks “Rule of 2 frames of Johnny’s agency” and participate Kohaku song festival for the first time. Arashi has grown up national group which meets the case as popularity and their skill. Johnny’s accept NHK passionate offer and give positive signal that they participate 60th Kohaku song festival along with senior groups Smap and Tokio. NHK announces Participant artists 23 December officially. Sanspo, participation of popular group Arashi is positive. Best album released August accomplished million hit. Singing and drama including individual performance are going so strong. If they participate for the first time, they unfailingly must revitalizie it. Also there’s information about junior unit Yuma Nakayama with B.I. shadow appears"

So the rest of the performers won't be officially announced until Dec. 23rd. But I'm sure NHK wants to use Arashi as promotion, so they get announced officially much earlier.

LOL Ashita no Kioku's too depressing slightly to be sung on 31st Dec D: . Maybe My Girl or Everything will be better ?

but anyway before I go off topic , I hope ayumi will be present at the event too . Would be kinda strange if she declined it this year hmmm

Crystal_Ageha 23rd November 2009 02:03 AM

She would be foolish to not go. This would be one more thing to keep her in people's minds, like, "hey, Ayu!! ^_^--She has a new single, right?? Maybe I should try it," lol. ;)

Hey guys, I have a question!
I remember that I watched last year's Kouhaku live on internet, but I can't remember what program I used to do this...

Is NHK the channel that will broadcast it? If it is, I can watch it with KeyHole, right?

Ayu_Ready 23rd December 2009 10:19 PM

Ayu will perform Rule only because/and she is the first singer with EXILE for the other team so it must breaking out !

Who's planning on watching on KeyHoleTV?

There is a channel named as 総合テレビ, which could be it, but it doesn't load.
