Cool, I can't wait for her new photo shoots. I really hope she's in a lot of magazines, not just 3 or 4. It seems like other singers get a lot more promotion in magazines than her and I'm kind of jealous.

I think Ayu being in a lot of magazines is reserved for when she releases best albums, sadly.

I kind of wish she'd be in 6-9 magazines as opposed to 3-4 but we can't really control things like this. I wish she'd be in CD+DL DATA though... the magazine has even changed names since her last appearance.

I also want to see her face plasted all over Japan, like in train stations and stuff, but I doubt that'll happen. :P

What photoshoot in Vegas? If I remember correctly, all she went to Vegas for was for something involving Kayanocchi (marriage?) and getting inspiration for her next tour from the shows in Vegas...

As for Oricon Style, I don't think it was anything big, otherwise it'd have been noted here or somewhere else. I will go look for any mentions.

ND CHOW involved... uh... maybe that was an ND CHOW project not involved with Ayu... I've seen him in photos in Vegas, but he was not with Ayu, haha.

At least we can be sure that Ayu's mag shoots will be diverse, not monotonous-- whether everyone likes them or not. I'm looking at Namie's shots this year and yaaaaawning.

Yes, it is being recorded on 4/4. She will do both a performance and a talk segment. Girls and boys can attend the performance, but girls only for the talk.

question : why ayu always appear in the same magz? while koda and especially namie appear on a lot of different magz, even namie can appear at least in one magz per month...?

I guess, but she didn't appear in as many magazines and I remember seeing clips where the streets were all plastered with A BEST and Distance posters, there were stands with people selling the albums and the CM countdowns, I dunno, somehow I don't think A BEST 2 promo got that close to A BEST. However people who were actually in Japan could prolly know better.

Yeah A BEST is crazy and I doubt she did it in the younger years..

A BEST was what AVEX needed to:

(1) Go against utada's album that was going to be release back then
(2) Give AVEX immortality as one of the Japan's biggest music empresses/companies


They used ayu... that album wasn't what she wanted... so I guess Imma stick to what ayumi wants. A BEST II was done by her, she was happy releasing that!

All that crazy promotion back then for A BEST was seriously disgusting... they used ayu's growing popularity

I think maybe a lot of people have watched Super TV interview,
But during time of A BEST, it wasn't AVEX that pushed her,
She was the one who coordinated the promotion of A BEST.
She said that "This best album could be my last, it's not something you can put out again and again," and because of that, she did all the promotions.

Of course it was AVEX who told her on which day of which month the Best album would come out, so of course it is in the end AVEX's fault,
But Ayumi was the one who pushed herself to do all the magazines, etc.

I think normal albums won't be promoted like that because they are just albums,
Where as bests are really popular and almost like foundation of popularity for artists.
Why do you think Koda Kumi puts out a best album every year or so? She knows it will sell much better than real album...

But anyways, I miss the television performances where she would be on every week, for example music station..
I remember BLUE BIRD being performed 2 or 3 weeks in a row on MSte.

^Then that would depend on the type of song that was released. Seeing how BLUE BIRD and Days were latest classics in the hearts of the Japanese, it's definitely possible to see slight rise in sales. But then, she would be going into a more generic jpop style

Ayu said that the first few songs just so happened to have that SUPER SUMMERY feel but GOD, HAL, DON'T BE SO LAZY. They basically used the exact same arrangement for 4-5 songs in a row..

I've always failed to see any similarity between the two, fairyland is darker when it comes to both the lyrics and over all sound and imo doesn't sound that summery at all. BLUE BIRD and Ami Suzuki's Alright! are very similarly arranged though.
