I wonder if that explains why I'm not really feeling it... It kind of has the instrumentation of something like RED LINE or older songs from A Song for xx. Those all had to grow on me a lot...

...but a song is born, I've always hated. So I wonder if it's just this composer I don't like. xD

Bigtop 14th July 2010 12:57 AM

That's quite a long time the last time Komuro worked with Ayu...

With this particular (extremely prolific) composer, you can't tell if you like him or not from these two stylistically similar songs... I do urge you to listen to more of his compositions. His style goes all over the board, and his 90's work is pretty consistently catchy.

Goodness for people that found a song is born bland and boring they might hate this one XD

Anyway. I loved asib especially the lyrics and emotion. A more interesting ballad
And this I find interesting to from the preview ^____^
I'm quite excited

Pieces_of_SEVEN 14th July 2010 01:25 AM

Still not judging until I hear the full song...but this is interesting.

DAMN. HE'S REALLY COMING BACK, ISN'T HE? :laugh he's doing a b-side for SMAP's new single.

i love TK though. he is a legend. globe's "wanna be a Dreammaker" is brilliant. BRILLIANT.

zellyx 14th July 2010 01:51 AM

For me TK is hit or miss..some I LOVE, others are 'eh.'
This song is OK, but then again it's just a preview! Wasn't crazy about blossom preview...then full came... I am OBSESSED...
We'll see how it goes! :yes

fantaisie.sign 14th July 2010 01:56 AM

I looooooove TK because of all his past work with Namie Amuro, globe, and on the Song+Nation album. So glad he's coming back. :D

a_kingdom21 14th July 2010 02:10 AM

a song is born is a nice song but a lit bit hard song to sing..
lol..
i guess i will be in love with this song

se7entheaven 14th July 2010 02:11 AM

oh my god, it's like ayu's back to basic with all these oldies sounds

AyuGAME 14th July 2010 02:16 AM

yeah...the style is so similar with ayu song back to 2001...
and the way she sings crossroads with her high register...really-really remind me of ayu pass work..

jaomaru 14th July 2010 02:19 AM

coool!!! thanks so muchhhh!!!!!

taskinillusion 14th July 2010 04:01 AM

Hmmmm well I certainly like A Song is Born, but I'm not too sure about this preview just yet...

TheBaronAndAyu 14th July 2010 04:47 AM

I don't mind it but I do agree with some and say that it sounds way too much like her old songs. I'm more a fan of Ayu's newer work (by that I mean MA-Present) so I'm really aquainted with any of the composers before then. :o

Max_ZZZ 14th July 2010 05:46 AM

if this is the chorus i'm sorry but this is soooo bad

honestly MOON was so amazing and blossom was good and now this was such an anticlimax. i better be overthinking this!!

it's a bit funny though, a song is born is one of my most hated ayu songs. whyyyy oh why

i know it's just a preview or w/e but right now this song sounds like the song I will be skipping on the next album

Calico 14th July 2010 05:59 AM

^Why? Because TK is a huge composer/producer and it *used to be* considered an honor to work with him.

Also, A Song is Born may not be liked much here, but at the time in Japan it was a very big song, especially with the 9/11 inspiration.

Last time when Komuro worked with her, he pushed her vocals, and it sounds like he's doing it again.

And yeah, like Calico said, A song is born is probably one of Ayu's most famous songs, because it was Komuro song, and because it's about 9/11, and because she sings in really high tone, which many japanese prefer.

That said, I don't like Komuro's compositions... like TRF and globe. I like TRF for some songs, but I think Komuro overdoes the compositions, I like simplier melody...

Anyways, I really really love crossroad preview, because she is singing high again! yay! And melody is great!

ownsarai 14th July 2010 07:52 AM

I was going to give in and listen to the preview but of course avex took it off. >.<
I like A Song is Born. So I have pretty high hopes for this song. :)

TITANIC 14th July 2010 07:56 AM

thats cool TK work for Ayu's next single

y_nathz 14th July 2010 08:01 AM

I don't really like A Song Is Born.. But well, I need the full thing to judge..
