:tired I suggest you to go to Inul karaoke, they have tonnes of J-pop and C-pop songs. And I usually go to Korean Karaoke too, they have lots of Japanese songs

i sing sunrise ~ love is all~ in public karaoke place in my country ....unfortunately ...the other song lyrics from ayu in hiragana...*sigh* so i must bring my own romanji text~ XD

I wish the place I went to had Sunrise!
What I wanted most was HANABI and Sunrise, and they didn't have either!

No kidding... I always go to karaoke with a mixed group of Asians & whites and everyone's usually more than fine with me singing in Japanese (and the ever-polite asians usually compliment me on my pronunciation). White people singing in Japanese don't look ridiculous... in fact, from what I gather, they look impressive. XD I've never met a native speaking Japanese or Korean person who reacted with anything other than favor when I or my white friends sing in Japanese or Korean.

I sang a duet of "Seishun Amigo" with a Japanese girl, and she had fun & wanted to sing with me again later that night.

The only thing about my singing that I'm self-conscious about is how deep my voice is... but what the hey, I'm still gonna sing. It's way too much fun to say no to! I'll sing till my throat's raw.

Besides, isn't the whole point of karaoke to make a fool out of yourself around your friends? It's a good exercise in self-confidence. :)

do you know what ayu songs they have in koreatown..like most common? i've been wanting to sing microphone and you were..., but i think there too recent :(

Try Star or Twister Karaoke in Toronto; Twister has the largest number of Ayu songs though but their menu is a little confusing. I havent seen microphone anywhere yet but the karaoke place I went to on Sunday already had You were... so I assume places in Toronto would have it aswell.

I like to sing Ayu's karaoke A LOOOOOOT (and I recorded myself a couple of times) but never have the courage to publish it on Youtube ^///^.
I can't deny singing Ayu songs cheer me up, and I love it!
I also went to Japan and sang at a Karaoke place, and it was the greatest experience EVER!
Someday I'll be as brave as you, pieces_of_seven, and I'll publish my karaokes.

I know for sure that if you go to Finch karaoke, like Shout or Yonge Karaoke, they have really new ones. I know there are certain rooms in Shout that already have Microphone for sure, because I sang that. But my korean friends told me there's two types of system in Shout, and it depends on the room you get. Yonge Karaoke doesn't have Microphone I don't think, but it's still really cheap.

Shout Karaoke's two systems are really similar, but for example one system has Microphone, while the other doesn't, and one has GREEN while the other doesn't. One has Rule, and one has Sparkle. But I would suggest the system with Microphone, because it has the most amount of non-album songs from Ayu... it's really great. But actually, I think You were... is on the system that doesn't have Microphone, because I sang You were... there too, but I can't remember...

Anyways, the point is I really like Shout because many Ayu songs.


I do not recommend Twister at all. It's so expensive, and the front desk lady ripped us off when we decided Twister wasn't for us... the system is too confusing, and we love to change key and tempo to play games, but Twister can't do it, and too expensive, so we decided in the first 5 minutes to leave, and the front lady said we have to pay for 30 minutes then... sorry, I dont accept, so I just left like one dollar on her counter, and left... LOL

Shout and other korean style karaoke places have smaller selection of songs, but they give you free service time, like 1 hour extra without paying for it, and also the sound quality is really good, and rooms are so nice and clean... and the front people are really nice.

I didnt have such a bad experience at Twister because the owner came in to show us how to use the menu (and then stayed to watch me sing Koda's Exstacy lol), but we both agree that the menu is rather confusing.
I havent been to any places on Finch and Yonge but I will check them out now since I cant turn down the chance of getting an hour free.

How I envy you! *_* I don't know a place here where I can sing ayu songs, and I really doubt that it even exists T_T .

Also, for example Shout or Yonge Karaoke, in the daytime you can pay just 5$$ per person, and you can sing for maybe 4 or 5 hours with just that fee... it's really great, and I don't think Twitter has that.

I don't think we have asian style karaoke places in Scandinavia. If there had been any, I would have went there every week! I love singing, and I love singing in Japanese!

I will definitely check it out! So if the next time you go you hear someone massacring music in one of the rooms, that'll be me, lol.

Well, I've never been to a karaoke bar, but this summer I was at an anime convention and they had one Ayu song in the karaoke corner, so of course I went and sung it!

The song happened to be appears, which was a bit bad for me. On the other hand, I absolutely love that song, but I'm a guy and I bet it was a bit painful to listen when I tried to hit some of those higher notes. :D And it was the full version too, so I stood there singing for over five minutes. Luckily we didn't have much audience there, I was nervous enough anyway (I had never sung Japanese songs with anyone else listening before that, and it was also quite a while since I had sung Finnish karaoke with my friends). :P

Anyway, the song went quite well, I guess, since I got about 8800/10000 points, and the person running the karaoke gave me quite the compliments for singing a song like that. :D

So yeah, that's my only experience with Ayu-karaoke so far, but, should I travel to Japan one day, I'll make sure to sing some more Ayu there. :)

it has only VERY VERY VERY old English & my mother tongue songs @@

but there's a karaoke website with about 30-40 Ayu songs in romaji .... hehe

Finally~~ I could sing Ayu song without knowing Japanese ... I can read romaji =)) they're almost like my language =))

The only place where I sing is my shower.

^ this exactly :laugh I don't have enough courage to sing in public. I think I bother so much what others might think lol. The other problem is that I don't think there are asian karaoke places in my country, maybe there are organized during anime convents or something. Who knows though, maybe if I have a chance I'll decide to and go against my fear? :laugh
