hmmm...the PV isn't something spectacular, but decent. i don't have a problem with JE going "americanized" because i don't think they are...just Jin Akanishi & i think he does it better. with YamaPi being his friend, it always seems like he's getting influences from him. KAT-TUN is pretty much the outlier in JE. everyone else in JE is very J-pop, imho, and i don't see it changing to be "americanized." i can't see Arashi or KANJANI8 doing what KAT-TUN/Jin does...

but the argument about the group itself. i think from the start, NEWS has been, well, erratic. they had 9 members...then 8...then 7...then 6. i always got the sense that because of these changes in their early career & these incidents were caught in the public as a national debuted JE group, they never got to make it big as a group. sure, they are somewhat popular, but i honestly think they could have been bigger.

YamaPi has always been a fan favorite, but since NEWS hasn't matched up to his level, i think JE is making up for it by making him release solo material. i wouldn't be surprised if NEWS broke up in the long run, but i think YamaPi wouldn't do that to his group now since he is leader. and unlike Jin, he doesn't seem to want a career outside Japan. i mean, JE treats him pretty well since he is their golden child, LMAO.

talking about those incidents which they went from 9 people to eventually 6 , do you think the popularity/selling power of NEWS would have been different if those situations never took place , Eirynne ? :shrug
